    This fire pit is one of a few covered pits that is on the list ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM of approved products for Disney Fort Wilderness. The product served its purpose well and provided excellent fires throughout the evening. We were able to open the door and do s'mores, but I had to be careful because the handle was a bit hot on occasions. Additionally, I wish they had replaced some of the standard nuts with lock nuts in some places. We lost the door handle after just a couple of days of usage. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation. I still give it 5 stars.

    Interesting design, I'm sure I could get that thing to glow red. Not a fan of the rock band in the video, Nickelback or Theory Of A Dead Man sound better to my ears, though old Metallica (Ride The Lightning was their best album) shreds them all.

    That's cool...I'm building one out of a sandblasting tank...I just shortened it some...my grates are 6 by 9 inches...I used a semi truck chrome stack for the tailpipe...I'm just welding the bent part to the stove and running it out a window...my last one was a thrown away gas hot water tank that I just used half of...it looked more like yours , longer...this one is shorter and bigger around, 17 inches versus the old one was 15...I put a floor in mine so I could use a couple of firebricks laying at a 45 angle resting on angle iron strips on top of the stainless steel screen wire grates...I'm making the damper out of the piece I cut for the pipe

    I would like to build a stove like this but I don’t know what a secondary combustion chamber is. I get what a baffle does but not this Can you point me in the right direction? Great build and I love the music. Thanks.

    • @gypsysteelworks5858
      @gypsysteelworks5858  2 роки тому +1

      It's a second airflow going in through the back of a wood stove which circulates waste gases back into the fire before it goes out through the chimney. Requires a smoke shelf and a second wall to isolate the intake from the combustion chamber. On something this size I wouldn't even piss with it, only a stickler would wet himself with this idea

      Unfortunately I made a flaw in cutting the flanges on the I-beam at an angle rather that at 90⁰ So it made rather large gaps. But I don't like making excuses and accept that it is what it is.

    I want to build a stove just like you did. I started learning MIG Welding using a wire feed of .035 wire with no gas. Can a MIG weld using .035 wire stand up to the heat produced by a wood burning stove? I was going to use 3 mil mild steel for the stove.

    • @gypsysteelworks5858
      @gypsysteelworks5858  Рік тому

      3 mil is pretty much the same as 11 gauge which is the plate I used for both ends of the body. It should work fine but it may have the tendency to warp if you were planning on making it a flat top like I did

    Nice build and thank you for the nice video. Please consider this as a constructive critic. You built a really nice stove, but you can increase efficiency and save a lot of wood. If you add secondary combustion and a baffle you will get the same amount of heat and save a lot of fuel. Take a look at my channel/videos you can see some possible ideas I acquired from other peoples work.
