And on ALL Gerbers.. they have date codes somewhere on the blade..i have a couple strongarms.... and actually i love the sheath....i feel like the " FATAL FLAW " is the 420HC steel..imagine it in a better steel
I'm sure they could sell it in an upgraded steel (they might already with the camp version?) but I'm not really bothered by the budget steel especially if it's almost indestructible
The MSI is such a great blade, also the Amphibian is excellent as well, I actually like the pocket clip😂. But you’re correct both of these blades could serve you for the rest of your life perfectly 👍
I’m right there with you when you mentioned having a compression lock on the native 5. I have yet to buy one but just because I don’t like the lock up now. I just got a para 3 with awt scales and pocket clip and man is it sexy! The knife with awt scales and pocket clip during Black Friday was only 110 for the knife, and 70 for the scales and clip. 180 total and it’s more expensive now stock.
It might depend on how big the knife is I’m not sure but for the liner lock folders around 15:30, I have the same issue but a way around it is to move your thumb out of the way as soon as there’s motion then close it with the pointer finger. Eg: start with pressure on both back of the blade and the liner then as soon as you push the liner move thumb away and continue pushing on the back of the blade. Should work with those two you mentioned, feels a bit weird at first to close but you’ll get used to it.
My perfect knife would be a buck 110 auto with A. A liner lock B. A button lock and a pocket clip. I would carry mine way more often as I need one handed operation for most uses. I agree with the issues on the gerber fixed blades. Love my strong arm but sheath could be better. And the issue with the principle is why I passed on it.
I edc that Case Marilla and keep the Kinsua in my rig as one of my backups. Those pocketclips are definitely annoying, but, they're quite capable knives. I need new pants anyway.
I have a launch 16 and IMO it's 90% perfect until you try to press the button with gloves on or without looking directly at it. My callused thumb can't feel anything. With gloves on it's a paperweight because it's impossible to press the button with gloves on. It only needs to be 1-1.5 mm taller to be perfect. I adhered a silicone disc to the button and I love this knife now. Some people hate the pocket clip but I don't have any issues with it.
I think the worst pocket clip has to be the stock spyderco clip. Automatically add 30$ to every single knife so you can get a decent clip that doesn’t snag on everything you get close to and rip your knife out of your pocket.
The biggest thing that had me return the livrwire and get the microtech is the tiny body screws and the tiny pocket clip. Also the blade felt really thin I didn’t like it
Ocd4edc has a bunch of aftermarket spyderco goodies. The cme makes the lick interface flush with the scales and let's you forget the nub was even there. Or you can hack the blade up. I'd prefer spending the 5 bucks. @@DXSharpening
The Toor knife is designed for diving and those serrations serve a purpose and are functional for underwater tasks. If you dive, you'll know. If you've never dived, you're not in a position to criticize.
I fully admit i haven't dived and I am not a diver, however they are not serrations they are simply cuts in the blade that are not sharpened and I actually have tried to cut rope with them and it does not work -- i don't see how that would be any different underwater... If you are an experienced diver and have used a blade with unsharpened cuts in it I will happily trust your opinion over mine
Aren’t you just a cute little gatekeeper. Here’s a thought, why don’t you just explain why you think, or know, why toor designed that blade the way that they did and educate all of us?
Spyderco's are boring, ugly and overpriced but they are reliable and very well made. Don't even get me started on Benchmade because they are hot garbage. The 3 knives I recommend to people are the Kershaw Bel Air, Hogue Deka and Kershaw Livewire, if carrying automatics where the person lives is legal. Nice list btw!
First of all, what's with the gloves? Who wears gloves showing items? Where your thimb slips off the Livewire, its a you problem! Put a little pressure on it and it will work fine! It's got plenty of height and texture to it to work fine! And lastly I hate clips on folders! They're ugly and ruin the looks of a knife! They are called pocket knives, to be put "in" your pocket, not clipped to the pocket! My suggestion is to offer folders without a clip, for those of us that don't like them! 🤔👍
Man i feel the same way about the Shootout ! I absolutly love it one of the greatest work knife i have own. But the internal design is such a shame I am ok with the high price as long a the knife is durable. But the Shootout is not 🥲 unless they really fixed it or that after market remplacement parts can be found easly

It's ok you don't have to lie about the pocket clip here

Don't forget man.....everyone's definition of a "perfect knife"is going to be vastly different
The only perfect knife is the amphibian, there is no other acceptable answer sorry
That forward choil on the shaman is everything!! so the bodacious doesn’t really make sense to me. (Unless it’s 10x cheaper)
Hey some people love it some people hate it, I'm probably somewhere in between
@@DXSharpening yeah it just fits my hand like a glove. The forward choil imo makes the shaman,para3, and mini praxis so comfortable choked up
I know it’s a bit thick behind the edge but I’d still think the 940 is perfect. Still my favorite after all these years.
A hard one to beat for sure

AWT makes pretty much any knife hard to beat, I have a hard time deciding between new scales or a new knife
my perfect knife is the new Kizer Hawk, awesome action awesome comfort and very good price

I have got used to it over time, just wish it was a little more comfortable! Thanks for watching!
I am designing a pocket clip for the kershaw livewire, I will send you one when I am done.
That's awesome, looking forward to seeing it!
No doubt you'll sell a lot of those
Please!! I love my livewire, but the clip situation sucks. It can be legitimately hard to get out of the pocket

The 3 " things" on the sheaths..thats to go in between molle or pals webbing... on packs or vests
I understand the attachment points/variability I just don't think it's necessary
22:39…… why do you think I’m watching your UA-cam channels lolol. I love looking like a knife obsessed person
Ha! Thanks for the support!

Demko Shark Cub , can't think of a thing I'd change.
Not super familiar with the shark lock but hope to check them out one day!
OCD for edc has the solution for the Shaman there called the CME
If you don't know what a MUF DIVER is, you need a little education in old school.
I probably do ha

Do you like protech??? There one of my all time favorites.... along with 60 million others lol
I have 2 protechs and love them both, not as familiar with them as I am with some other brands though
Man i love the handle and price of the msi but almost everything about the blade shape id change
I wish they did some of the other models in polymer too
The biggest thing that had me return the livrwire and get the microtech is the tiny body screws and the tiny pocket clip. Also the blade felt really thin I didn’t like it
Definitely fair criticisms of it, doesn't mean it's a bad knife though maybe just not for everyone!
Where I’m from MUF means a woman’s lady parts. I’m sure you can imagine what a MUF Diver is 😳.
Ha, had to look it up, hadn't heard that one before!
Cheers
Lol tell me how old you are..without telling me how old you are😊
Also.... I'm sorry.. I'm just very outspoken and very passionate about knives.. BUT i am new here!!!!! So please don't take me the wrong way
Don't apologize at all, thanks for watching and welcome!
Get a cme for the shaman and call it a day, sheesh
