These reports make so many of us nervous it is hard to believe anything people say anymore. It is scary when we are threatened and will not be able to take of ourselves. Seniors get scared hell I am 76 and they scare me. I lost my husband and this is scary when we know we have to face this alone. All I ask is don't report this kind of stuff until you have solid facts and know it will happen.

In my humble opinion, such a crash would not at all be surprising. The Federal Reserve, which is neither federal nor a reserve, is an international banking cartel that is engineering this situation to harvest the wealth of the American people. Even superpowers are bound by the rules of finance. The borrower is a servant to the lender.
Sadly, our beloved Republic is being crushed by a national debt that ranges between $40-$60 trillion dollars. Our economy is being manipulated to pay for the monetary irresponsibility, massive fiscal waste and the refusal of our elected and appointed government officials to draw up and abide by a budget! As is always the case, the American citizens take the beating for the failures of our government officials!
It can be managed congress simply has to do the right thing and tighten their belts Americans have to get some relief from inflation! It's to high! It's absurd! None of this needs to be the way it is! America can be self sufficient and absolutely should be! I do agree that inflation is a very strong part of this issue, and I am afraid that we might go into a depression by 29! I pray that this does not happen but the way the economy is headed and the way the bangs are doing we have to worry about the feds and what they're doing with the US dollar it is being devalued by over printing money! I hope that I am wrong in this issue but I am afraid that the road is going to get real bumpy. And it is very important that we get Social Security beefed up and get our railroads operating as fast as possible in good shape! I feel that social security and the railroads repairing and being used as an asset would help inflation tremendously well!

80-90% is ridiculous. 35-50% could be more realistic. S&P at 2,500 seems like it could happen.

In past crashes, it was ~60% for the S&P500 (ranging from ~20% to ~90%) and took about 4 years to recover.
With the artifically low interest rates inflating everything, especially the stock market and real estate, I wouldn't be surprised if it drops by 90%. It's either that or massive inflation.
