Chris Curtis rocked this guy the whole fight. Landed massive body shots throughout. Head kicks. Punches straight to the face. He made a better statement for fighting Dricus Du Plessis than the ‘winner’ even did lol. This guy ain’t DDP’s best rn
The body shots yes Curtis landed but Brendan arguably landed better straights and head kicks! Stats were pretty close every round aswell I had it 2-2 into the 5th and Brendan clearly won 5

He is a big guy, but his attitude is so friggin timid. Hearing him talk, it seems he is thinking "Hey I'm lucky to be safe and win a split decision which maybe I lost. And because it is customary to call out the champion let me call out DDP".
I disagree. He's stands on business and "sure" we can criticize his performance, I would have to rewatch the fight myself to see if his not a split decision holds water but he's had appropriate composure and confidence, just he says himself, someone that "believes themselves to be the best in the world, a champion". He backs himself and again, it'll be worth a rewatch but as most of thought/"know" he was hurt, he claims he was faking being hurt, which, at least he didn't get finished/made the full 5 rounds. He got back 1 out of 2 of losses, I know he's calling for the champ, but maybe another rematch with his other lost (bc that person also wants a rematch/another shot at the champ), him vs Sean would be good and winner gets a shot at the belt
(Though now to think about, definitely gets in a weird time line of if Rob vs Khamzat gets the next shot after presumingly DDP vs Izzy or if Rob/Khamzat needs one more win, then winner of Allen/Sean would be the perfect final contender match up
What's cool about listening to Brendan Allen speak after beating Chris Curtis is that he clearly respects Curtis as a fighter (and did so prior, which isn't something I don't hear a lot - unless we're talking about Stephen Thompson).
And to be fair Curtis won the last time they met, so maybe a third fight is necessary though this is what you get when adults fight, as opposed to the insecure 'I'm the best in the world' - type nonsense.
And speaking of 'I'm the best in the world' Brendan Allen said exactly that though considering who won the first fight, you well know that there's a part of him that doesn't believe it.

This is MMA not boxing. Why didn't Chirs Curtis do any ground & pound when the opportunities were there? It would've made all the difference. I know they're friends but all the hugging in between rounds was unnecessary.

When they announced the judges names I recognized the third judges name from a bad call had a feeling the third judge would fix it and sure enough there goes my boy Chris fighting his heart out to not even get the draw to give it to Allen’s a joke. I love Brendan but i dont think he won this fight, Chris was rocking him in every round and made Brendan look stupid at times with those desperate takedown attempts, even tried to pull guard, didnt look like he wanted to be there.. There's something super strange about Brendan's personality when he fights, its like he's trying to be a Kevin holland character at times with smack talking and at the same time trying to be friendly and loving, he was talking to Chris all the time while getting rocked and giving him compliments and shit, it was simply weird behaviour
Allen landed some shots. Go look at the punch stats, it was close. In addition to that, Allen took Curtis down at least 6 times. Everytime Curtis reversed, he never capitalized. If he did, then maybe it would have made a difference. I had Allen winning the fight. He didn't just take him down but threatened submissions as well.
Brendan is a boring fighter. As soon as the fight went to the ground i could take a toilet brake. Chris saved the fight not him.

I like this guy. This was a good test. Chris Curtis is really good and could be a contender at welterweight but, he's undersized for middleweight. Brendan Allen is the best grappler at this weight class and is showing he's getting better at striking.

Allen’s take downs in the first couple rounds were impressive even when he was hurt he got to the back fast but he didn’t do anything with the takedowns. Chris got got back up and wobbled him more and gassed him out with the body shots and Chris started stuffing his TDs easy. Chris was only hurt at the last second just like O’Malley in his last fight and shouldn’t dictate the rest of the fight. Chris won that.
