Respect to the acting and making of this film. Just watched it again after seeing it twice before (first time in 1980 on video). Mr Cook and David Lemieux and the dark brother with the beard, "Do-Daddy Dean", were memorable. And the two beautiful sisters, Janet League as Joy and Dahomey Queen, Paula Kelley.
In the late 1960's when I was in elementary school I would see Sam Greenlee's book on my dad's bed. From the title I thought it must be a ghost story.. He passed away a few years later & with him went the book. Fast fwd 20+ years I was reintroduced to the novel & film in the late 1980's, but it took me a few years to realize it was the same book on my dad's bed when I was a kid. 30+ years later and both the book & film are still as relevant as they were when I was in grade school . Wake up already. It's war.
Mr Lemieux speaks some truth there man.... I dunno why but having a intelligent Black Man speak in a way that promotes thought instead of violence always hits me.
Appreciate your comment, who tho do you feel black men promote violence? I don’t think they do anymore than caucasian men. To me “Black” men are the most loving ones. They have a lot to offer society as a whole. That’s why every other race of women are clinging to them. 🙂
We as humans need to be compassionate.. no more them or they its us and we. together as a hole. we the people of this nation need only to trust in us. together we rise apart we crumble.be proud of your heritage and individualism. but at the end of the day where all just humans/homosapians everyone points out indifference instead of similarity...just wondering how much longer itll take to fulfill that mans dream that he died for¿¿¿ it's sad civil rights come after civil unrest I guess but I'm just some dude that know one listens to. Your moral density has know ethnicity
The Spook should be accurately remade into a film every 10 years.

One of my favorite character in the movie
Great book and film. Mayor daily wouldn't give permits to film so it was shot mostly in Gary Indiana.
That man said Chances R, peanuts on the floor!!!!
That brother David is powerful!!
Yoo I loved that book and nice to see the man behind it. And actually making a movie I haven’t seen it.

The LAST POETS would answer the brother asking the questions with the American Flag jacket pretty well in their music.
That's Rhymefest, a Hip Hop artist, wrote Kanye's "Jesus Walks".
