I never knew anyone who had a Neo-Geo back in the day. These things were Insanely expensive and each game cost hundreds. It was the ultimate Status Symbol of Nerd Culture.
I only had access to the arcade machine back in those days
As a kid all I wanted was a NEO-GEO but my parents couldn't even afford a master system. I swore to myself when I am older I will buy an old Neo to make my wish come true. Now I am an adult I def can't afford a NEO. So much for childhood dreams I guess.
It was basically an arcade machine with the prices to match $200 per game minimum in the early nineties equates to about $450 today. plus $600 for the console and you needed VERY deep pockets.

MiSTer FPGA can handle Neo Geo MVS/AES 1:1, plus you get all types of Arcade Games, Consoles, Classic and Retro Computers and their games, Japanese Micro Computers, whackloads of consoles, they just added support for the N64 with like 99% support for the library. And Saturn is making good progress. PS1 is pretty much flawless on it too. All for the price of a consolized MVS and 161-in-1 (and maybe a tiny bit more money).
I imported an MVS motherboard from eBayuk seller in China and added a Supergun to RGB. Got a few ATX PSU's knocking about from old PCs, so was pretty cheap together up and running.
The 161 in 1 is ok but the rarer 120 in 1 has better varied games selection. Nice share 👏😎
Super guns have been around for a long ass time LOL!! We were giant Street Fighter 2 nerds, but our group was the east coast best Street Fighter 2 players back in the 90s, because we had them to practice at home, and most people didn't know they existed. 😎
I hope once I get more stable I can get one of those (maybe not this particular model, but having a consolized MVS would be neat to have).

Literally every pizza shop in the US had one. I saw a vid where they were driving downtown Baltimore from only a few months ago and I kid you not, a small NeoGeo machine with CRT was passed by on the road.

in the meantime they even chanced the acryl glas case to an original AES looking one... with USB ports instead of Sega Saturn. Even better now!

I bought a MVS with a supergun and I have some noise. Connected with a nice and new RGB cable, triying the original MD2 and a new one, the same result. Diagonal noise. With these kits you noticed some noise or the image is clear and perfect?

My little cousin had that. The wooden one. He sold it too early, it's price has skyrocketed. Same with his ss5sp uncensored.

It's cool that it can take Sega Saturn controllers. Would've been nice to see how the buttons were mapped to it. Shame about that Aliexpress Neo Geo stick. I was looking at those myself not too long ago!
The machine itself looks very cool but with all the Pandoras Boxes being so cheap and having pretty much all the Neo Geo games this seems pretty redundant. Still cool if you're a collector of MVS Carts tho!
Its weird the second option of controllers being sega saturn, I dont find those controllers very good and with availability, I would have added an hdmi entry for just anything compatible out there

The rgb is the same as neo cd one I presume? How come you prefer composite instead of rgb?
Also on the 160+ cart, are there also mvs/aes only games on it?
I have 2 or 3 original cd controllers, neo cd controller for ps3 (which sucks, the stick is lower and wider, inputs aren't as good), 2 original aes sticks, and 1 neo hori stick, think it was the hori 2. Almost impossible to change the stick, I wanted to put in a sanwa jlf in it.
Been looking at these machines for a while on Ali Express. May jump in later this year. Seriously who did SNK think would buy these expensive games! I love Neo Geo still but the home business model made no sense.
It was a way to make more from arcade games. It was meant to be a niche item for the rich, not a mass market thing

RGB looks too bright. Perhaps it expects some 75 ohm resistors in the cable?

AV Out is probably the best output, but hooked up to a CRT.
Ofcourse not, RGB is to a crt, thats the best possible way and exactly same as Jamma.
For modern tvs, componet is the way to go
@@vasileios6301 OK you are right. My main gripe was his AV out footage. It was digital capture and made the AV look nothing like it would look on a CRT. The AV out on a CRT would still look better than everything he showed in this video.

I doubt that this game console will get past UK customs unless it's in covert packaging!
The video put on these cbox units is drab and dull they all use the same rgb and compinent circuits. You can byoass this manually if you have the know how but if you compare say metsl slug to a cmvs its very different in quality.
