- Hamas says it has submitted its response to a US-backed plan for a ceasefire in Gaza. A senior group official told the BBC that it still requires an Israeli commitment to a permanent ceasefire.
In a statement, the group, and its Palestinian Islamic Jihad allies, said they were ready "to engage positively to reach an agreement that ends this war".
Earlier on Tuesday US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had "reaffirmed his commitment" to the Gaza ceasefire plan.
The proposed ceasefire plan calls for a six-week ceasefire that would eventually become permanent.

No they accepted the UN Security Council resolution which calls for an immediate ceasefire and started negotiations, Israel is trying to use the negotiations as an excuse to say Hamas did not agree at all.

Single Issue Referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws.
A Public Authority can audit police and prosecute bad cops in our own courts.
Nationalise resources and give Indigenous peoples the right of Sovereignty over them as Guardians.
This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented.
With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc.
Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%.
The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register.
This would be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination.
That can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in the same fashion at Scale.
It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. As opposed to the divisive US v them scapegoating and bi-partisan finger pointing the current Capitalist Pyramid Scheme runs on.

We need a Party of Peace: Government by People's Referenda, either through Mascot Candidates or Peaceful Encampment of the Capitals until one is established.

What is so surprising? The life of Jesus and the life of Muhammad are in stark contrast. So it is impossible to follow the teachings of Jesus and Muhammad simultaneously, they are really very different. Christianity teaches its followers to bless and not curse (Romans 12:14). Meanwhile, Muhammad cursed his own uncle for disagreeing with Muhammad (Surah 111: 1-5; 3:61; 108: 1-3; Muslim volume 4; Hadith 7150, Bukhari, volume 5, Hadith no 397). Meanwhile Jesus, even though the person who crucified and tortured Him, Jesus did not curse him, instead asked his Father to forgive him (Luke 23: 34). Muhammad ordered to kill people for insulting him (Muslim volume 3; Hadith 4436 and many more).
Jesus taught his followers to love one another to show the world that people who love one another are disciples of Christ (John 13: 35). Muhammad used violence and terror to gain victory (Surah 3: 151; 8: 12; 8: 67-68; 3: 26, Bukhari vol 4, Hadith no 220). Jesus won people through love whereas Muhammad through violence. At the time of seeing the life of Jesus no one can match it.
Which religion do you choose?
Both Jesus and Muhammad claimed to be followers of Allah, but they must have believed in a different Allah, so which Allah would you like to follow? Both Christianity and Islam teach that Jesus or Isa Al Messiah will return to judge the living and the dead in the end times (2 Timothy 4:1; 1 Peter 4:5, John 5:22, 27 and Bukhari volume 3, Hadith no 425). If the Koran itself tests that Jesus was sinless, full of miracles and will be the judge at the end of time, then why don't you want to acknowledge Him as your Lord and Savior? Is there a human who has never fallen into sin if not God himself?
And the most important thing is to be pleased with the safety of your own soul, that's why you fight hard in your worship, isn't it all of this with only one goal so that you can go to heaven? But what is sad is that Muhammad himself did not have any confidence in where he would go after death. The question that you need to ponder very seriously, if Muhammad is the greatest figure in the Islamic religion but he himself has no guarantee of safety, then what hope do his followers have?
There are so many and so many promises of salvation that are certain in the Bible and not in doubt, hopefully or depending on God. Trust is hopefully very terrible. Because after death we will not return to earth.
Jesus promised in Romans 10: 9-10: Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart, that God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved. For it is with the heart that one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
To confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord means you have to agree with God that:
You are a sinner and must be punished in hell
You cannot save yourself from the torment of hellfire
The Lord Jesus paid for your sins on the cross and redeemed you through His holy blood
You need Jesus as your Lord and savior.

It's a grave mistake, in my opinion, that Israel has not yet either annexed the areas or seized their occupation to whomever wants it. It only creates tension with an 57 year unresolved question.

Israel soldiers unconditional withdrawal from Gaza and to create two independent states "Israel and Palestine" is the solution of said conflict. People of Palestine are sacrificing since 70 years and current sacrifices demand immediate permanent ceasefire and independent state of people of Palestine. US is master of games and it is not trust worthy at all. Everyone knows very well that US is the master mind of this conflict by pushing and supporting Israel to commit genocide in Palestine. UN Secretary General role is positive and strong, unfortunately, UN is dependent on US and its allies.
They withdrew from Gaza in 2006. Maybe you forgot that Gaza was run by Hamas, a terrorist group supported by the majority of Palestinians. Israel would have recognised a Palestinian state by now if Palestinian forces stopped attacking Israel and removed their goal of wiping Israel off the map. This is a just war, not a genocide, and Israel needs to win it decisively. And only when Gaza and the West Bank are not run by genocidal lunatics can we even talk about 2 states. Until then, it's 1 state, Israel, and some terrorists who can't get over losing repeatedly so they keep doubling down on insanity.

There should have been independent states of Israel and Palestine in 1948 according to UN resolution - but the Arab League refused to accept this and launched an invasion attempt on the new state of Israel. It failed, but the Arab League did manage to occupy land earmarked for Palestine, with Egypt occupying Gaza and Jordan the West Bank. Israel only occupied those areas in 1967 when the Arabs planned another invasion attempt that failed.
History also shows that while the Jews have been prepared to accept most two state proposals, the Arabs have rejected every one.
And Israel did withdraw from Gaza in 2005, even forceably removing hardline Jewish settlers in the process. The people of Gaza then voted in Hamas, an organisation whose charter calls for the genocide of the Jews, leading to 18 years of attacks on Israel and ultimately the situation we are in today.

It isn’t at all unreasonable for Palestinians to demand a ceasefire before negotiations begin. Nothing unreasonable about demanding the withdrawal of IDF. Israel will accept nothing less than total surrender and having everything they demand. All the people of Gaza want is to be left alone and for them to be recognised as an independent state. What’s wrong with that?
Total cost of rebuilding Gaza estimated at $85 billion. Israel caused all this damage, they can pay for it.
