The meristem are areas of plant growth. Apical meristem are found at the ends of stems or at leaf nodes. A cambium is a meristem usually on the side of a plant that makes the plant grow in width by making more xylem and phloem for water and food to be transported.

So, this can be a very variable aspect in different regions of the plant , at different stages of growth, for example, ABA and Ethylene levels will be high during leaf fall and fruit ripening respectively.

Mam plant hormones like abscisic acid that act as growth inhibitor, does it decides that how long will it grow??

So ABA is a growth retarding hormone which promotes cell death, it is antagonistic along with ethylene to Auxins, cytokinins and gibberellins. Now the question is in very mature plants, what is the concentration ratio of these growth promoting and retarding plant hormones? :)
