Muhammad Mahdi aleyhisselam is the Nabi. That our Lord (c.c.) in Surah Ahzab (40th Aya) "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men; but he is Allah's Rasul and the last Nabi. Allah is the one who knows everything best," says, and at the same time Muhammad Mahdi appeared with the Nabi calling, represents a means/way to test mankind. The name Muhammad is both the name of our Prophet (s.a.v.) and that of Mahdi (a.s.) on God's level. Our Lord (c.c.) has in the Qur'an al-Karim by the name of Muhammad, with a name on two persons; obviously pointed to our Prophet (s.a.v.) and hidden to Muhammad Mahdi (a.s.). This is the miracle of Allah cc. "Muhammad is Allah's Rasul" refers to Rasul Muhammad; Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.v.), and with "last nabi" becomes Nabi Muhammad; Muhammad Mahdi pointed out.
