I've never heard or seen this before, thanx for posting it. Grew up in Chicago and remember the excitement about the young Goose & Forester, on the southside. Traded both for one year of Richie Zisk, but was a great one, the 1977 southside Hit Men.
He lives near me and I run into him sometimes . He takes time to chat and been to house, he is fun to talk to. I said something meant to be weird and funny, he looked up and gave me that look every batter got. That was something I tell you.
Met Goose at the Houston airport. He was connecting onto my flight to Tampa (for sthe start of spring training). He could not have been nicer to say hello to. He is no longer in that role with the NYY & I think based on the last interview I watched, he was pretty hot against Cashman.
I think his memory of his 1978 slump is worse than it really was. He blew 4 of the first 11 games. Not great but hardly the end of the world--or the season.
I got the opportunity to see him pitch many times. He was a great competitor!
that is one of the best interviews, loved it

My very first white sox game in July 31 1991 robin ventura hit a grand slam off of gossage and won the game never forget that moment

Until that fateful l at-bat Gibsom was 0 for 13 lifetime against Gossage. The Goose did own him until that moment.
