I grew up in Peckham in the 70s, makes me want to cry when I see how it is now....state of it! Graffiti and rubbish everywhere u look....so sad .....:(

I grew up in Peckham in 50-60s and was born there. I could cry. What a s**t hole. I can see why my parents decided to get out. I am so glad they did. I spent hours in Peckham rye and Rye Lane was a vibrant shopping street. With Jones and Higgin on the corner and C&A mid way. My mum worked at Radio Rentals. All gone now.

Trying to get my bearings,place such a mess,use to shop Rye Lane every Saturday with my mum,late 50 to early60, remember Jones an Higgins one end,CA near railway bridge, remember buying Christmas tree of man under bridge,dont know how we got it home ,there was pub on corner near co op ,dance hall above,use go as teenage boyfriend Jimmy wright, hope you had good life jimmy,then mum took me to other side of world, looking at that Im glad she did,
