Russia aren't using the T-62's for front line assaults. They're using them as mobile artillery rear support, which can be rapidly moved & redeployed faster than towed artillery. It's really quite smart, as they have plenty of the tanks & ammunition in store. As for new tanks Russia have already replaced their losses. Russia produced 2100 units of various types of tanks in 2023, and manufacturing has only been accelerating.
Russia is not making T-14s, their T-90M production of new units is about 60 per year, they can upgrade T-90A to M's and count that as new production, but there's only about 50 A models left. The rest of Russian "tank production" is refurbishing/upgrading older models of T-80, T-72, but that's hardly real tank production. The fact that they are using T-62's en masse is telling about their 3k losses since things started. Its not going well.

T-62 not the latest and greatest but it will still put a shot through an M1 Abrams, Leopard 2 etc with an aimed shot. It's a 115mm gun, if it only fires HE at infantry it's still a problem. It's just as vulnerable as any tank to drones, but hey they have heaps of them.
