I met Kaluwitharana ayya at my work place in Australia. We had a small talk. One thing for sure. He is one of the humble people I've ever met. Very down to earth. I'm also from the same school as he was. It was a great experience for me to meet such a great but humble person.

if youre referring to Sanga as legends keep in mind he has a better strike rate as well...if the s.r. is low you could say that he played to uplift his average but nah he has a better s.r. than Kalu in ODis as well not just an avg twice as much as his....but when you consider wicket keeping skills Kalu was faster in stumpings , Sanga was better in catches those 2 are the best wicket keepers SL has ever produced
Difference between you and Kalu is apparent through your comment. He didn’t underestimate himself. He did a correct estimation so that the team would benefit in the LT. Because of that decision he made, SL produced the greatest test batsmen of our generation.
