fwiw, after screwing around a couple of times with location of my dotnet sdk location (on linux), i resolved this by just setting DOTNET_ROOT which seemed to make vscode happy again.
I have an error message while installing the C# devkit. Can't install 'ms-dotnettools.csdevkit' extension because it is not compitable with the current version of Visual Studio Code(version 1.74.3).
Let them see it as one of command line terminals in the Aiden Pearce lair behind the spinning bridge. 0:54 Almost everytime you be alright until it's anything you haven't wished to download. 1:17 you need to begin with simple project and later try any advanced technologies when you have had set it up and running on windows - run in the linux or deploy to the production. In the curriculum's as a student you were taught java and c++ and as a talent point you've picked up C#.
I have an issue with c# extension. Turning on my laptop and opening my asp net core project, I get an error "c#: client could not connect to server". I had to reopen the project again for the extension to work. Any takes?
Ok, following your guide, finally managed to create and run the basic web api, though it didn't have swagger integrated like yours did. Then tried cloning my multi project aspire solution. What a mess, no build options, no simple way to just run it, web searches and tutorials are useless except for toy projects. I don't understand why after all this time, its still so hard to just run build and dotnet projects in VS Code.
A dislike for the vid, not saying it's not good. But it's definitely not good enough for beginners to solve the problems. Not even mentioning the video contains a lot of meaningless professional words or terms that beginners doesn't even want to bother with. I ain't here to know anything like aspire or the dotnet commands that I probably never going to use. Just help us beginners to debug issues instead of showing off what you got PLZ
Visual Studio is an IDE, Visual Studio Code is an Editor. Why would one replace the other? Visual Studio Code offers minimum compatibility with C# while Visual Studio gives you the full fledged feature rich experience.
@@ammarmangala9814because now VSCode is an official solution for developers on MacOS and Linux. Even in this video we see that VSCode is not just simple text editor.
Many YTuber give nice explanations but very often many stuff its not clear: 1. any idea how to bind IVI net libraries into a visual studio code environment? 2. how to install Studio Code without administrative privileges on Windows which is often the case on company laptops due strict safety policies?
If you copy another existing tuto, at least change the break point a little more in your example "VS Code Tutorial For C# Developers" exact same example, exact same break point ^^. Only good point, you jumped some useless parts.
The best starting video about starting C# for TypeScript/JavaScript Developers!

it works for me on linux too, awesome, i got glitches on windows though. All because of SDKs.
Hi c++ you reccomend to learn it after js?
no, don't do that. stick on to js unless you want to build core native desktop applications and hardware drivers and operating systems
Why C# Dev kit has so low appreciation between users? 2.5/5
it is horrible. You will not have a good experience compared to Visual Studio or jetbrains rider. Just look at it as a portable thing...
its problematic and bitches when something is slightly tweaked for no reason and hard to get it working
Because its a mess when actually trying to use it for real work.
