a work of art, a work of beauty and a work of genius. I don't believe there will ever be an original workpiece that will surpass this on any of the above points.
Thanks Don, I really am interested in what you struggle to show to us.Ignorant people abound the world unfortunately and mar our pleasure.Even with a camera in the face they don't shut their mouths. looking forward to reading your book.kind regards mike
The toes of the satanic statue of jupiter at the Vatican, (they claim its a statue of Peter but it isn't), are being worn away becaue everyone touches it as they walk by, it's black marble. Imagine if everyone touches the tools, handled them with their greasy hands, dropped them, there'd be nothing left in a hundred years.
I was sitting on this comment and then he questioned whether to take it as inspiration or to give up, so now i have to say it...dear mr studley, you shall finally be outdone, to be outdone again...
interesting comments without a dought for me it’s a Inspiration always has been and hopefully always will be sure as a Craftsman it can be Intimitadingbas well
It is a museum piece. For the benefit of other people who appreciate this toolbox, it is behind glass for security reasons, and not for thieves to get their hands on it.
The Studley tool chest is an example of the danger of reverence. Yes, it should be admired- but not revered. I have read the book (Virtuoso) because I am constructing my own chest. So I have paid particular attention to the construction and detail. It is a good, perhaps great, tool chest. But it is not perfect- far from it. Revering something means you understand less about it, not more.
This video was next to useless . Apart from extolling the virtues of a long ago craftsman as if he were God ,he wasn't,there was nothing much about "exploring " this tool chest.
Adam savage brought me here 👍🏻
Same.
Make that a cool 4 of us :)
Yup....same. 😅
Me too.
Me too buddy!
Savage brought me here and wow is it beautiful
The other half went to google

This guy is John McAfee without Bath Salts, lol
Can you make a new, good quality video presentation of this toolbox with some background information?
Does anyone have any info about the vices on the Studley work bench? I'm very curious about these now.
Adam Savage bringing me back here!
Told us very little about the box the tools or the man, but he shared his opinion and experience with the box well.
When a master alchemist focuses on woodworking.
the way that its designed is like the guts in a piano
wonderful, a masterpiece!
Adam has me going down another rabbit hole...
"Taking down the exhibit and unpacking it." Sounds counter intuitive

What the hell is this idiot talking about . I think he is talking about himself when he talks about IGNORANT people.
So cool and we can't make one in the 21st century.
God bless.
Beautiful. But it’s sad to see it behind glass. This work of art should be fully examined & admired.

I'm just kidding. This is a really cool tool box. I can definitely see the influence on Adam's box.

sad that it's entombed behind glass. it deserves to be seen, touched, explored, and used.

what does he call Studley? A sophisticated esthe?

You appear to have confused "exploring" and "explaining"
Too much background noise!!!
The people taking pictures need to be tied down for 5 minutes just to let the man speak.
Still, very well spoken and interesting video.
matching braces (suspenders)
I bet it's heavy.
Takes three men to lift it.. according to Norm Abram

Less talk, more show.

Hello Reddit
Terrible presentation. Boring. Oh Oh I'm awake now. Show us the tool chest before I go back to sleep.
