"Which of these cell phone brands you mention here can you say with complete confidence work on mobile phone network carriers in the U.S? Especially, the MVNOs like (Visible,Boost,Mint,etc...) I'd really appreciate it my friend. I realize the most common way in finding for certain whether or not a phone will work on a carriers network is by searching the phones IMEI number. The problem I have with that is you have to buy the phone first to get the IMEI number. Why would anyone buy a phone & risk the chance of losing money on phone's that may or may not work on any U.S network? I'll admit I'm a complete novice & not up or hip in this field of tech so this may sound silly to you. But, will any phone work on a network just bcuz it's "unlocked?" I mean is there a different way to figure this out using other criteria? Or is it just one big sh!t show you have to roll the dice & take your chances, win or lose? I just purchased the ulefone power armor 18t, still coming in mail, there is a new phone with a massive battery, unihertz tank at 22000mah, also has 108mp camera but I chose the former cause of the specs.
The Ulefone 18T 1,000 price tag is just their price given to make you buy it now. I purchased it for around 550 . The price has fluctuated between 500 and 600 since it’s been released. It’s going on another sale on Monday for 519. I doubt if the actual price will ever be the 999 that they say is the regular price. It just arrived yesterday. So I haven’t really gotten a chance to try it out fully
I have been using the phone for two weeks. I like it, especially the microscope and thermal camera. people at work admire it and the selfie camera is very good.

@@dmandman9 check even custom button. It is very sensitive. Everytime holding the phone the flash would come on because I accidentally touch the custom button
@@truegospel4065 it’s not that. It does it even when sitting on the table without me touching it. I restarted it in safe mode. And it didn’t malfunction then. So, it may be one of my installed apps. I’ll try uninstalling them one by one . If that doesn’t work, I’ll perform a factory. Reset.
I can't find any info about the 18T's 108 Mpix camera regarding file formats, does it save in RAW? If it is a large sensor and still only saves in destructive formats, it kind of loses the reason for a great sensor IMO.
This is a good list. I do want to give an honorable mention to the Galaxy XCover6 Pro. Even though this phone may not have the best cameras, it is one of the most feature packed rugged Android phones out there. This phone comes with a headphone jack, microSD card slot, removable battery, LED notification light, and Samsung DeX. My only gripe with this phone is that there is no stereo speakers. I also want to give an honorable mention to the upcoming ThinkPhone. The ThinkPhone is shaping up to be the most powerful rugged phone on the market. However, the lack of a headphones jack and microSD card slot may be a deal breaker for some.
Ulefone says it's supposed to come with the MyFLIR App pre-installed. You should definitely email them or call them to get that sorted out. www.ulefone.com/about/contact-us.html You could also try downloading a different FLIR app from the Play Store, but definitely contact Ulefone.
To have the ruggedness, it got to be thicker than "fancyphones", but IMO the ones with normal batteries (around 6000mAh) aren't that bad since you don't need any casing extra.

I had Blackview on the list at the beginning because of good reviews, but their OS shell around pure Android made me drop them. My needs are *good thermal camera *clean Android *night vision camera *reasonable processing power (don't need the latest/fastest) *a full day of battery (the chunky super capacity phones are of no use to me, huge overkill) *decent back camera, 48mpix is quite enough for me *proper ruggedness of course *wireless charging

If you want to take full advantage of 5G on the 18T, then your only real option in the U.S. is T-Mobile. Since Mint is an MVNO that uses T-Mobile's network it would be a perfect choice.

We bought the Oukitel WP-15. What a mistake! One of them had a bad USB port so it won't charge. The vendor won't warrant it and Oukitel never responds to any request for help. Although Oukitel claims that it works on Verizon that is a lie. Verizon has said in no uncertain terms that it is 100% NOT COMPATIBLE with their systems! Verizon is the ONLY service that has any coverage whatsoever in our area. Therefore, the WP-15 is a brick and a useless one at that! The second phone is losing its USB port now, too. Unless you live in a city and not the country as we do, the WP-15 is a useless POS. Also, Oukitel has ZERO customer support! After all, they are in China and that place has gone straight to Hell in a hand basket! BE ADVISED THAT BUYING ANYTHING OUT OF CHINA IS A FOOL'S ERRAND FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE! I just bought Doogee s98 pro. Android 12, better thermal camera than flir, and quite okay spec and size. I wanted 90hz display but it fine without. Have cat s62 pro now and its a very slow and laggy phone but i wanted a thermal cam.
Yup, for my needs, the "old" S98 Pro is on top. I don't know why it isn't on this list, rather than the S89 Pro. The "Virtual RAM expansion" sounds more like a marketing thingy than a real-world useable feature. I was looking into Blackview from the beginning, but I dislike their OS "based on Android" solution. The large battery ones here are ridiculously thick, I have never been away from a charging solution for that long anyway (and why hasn't the one with the biggest battery 66W charging capability?). For long trips without being able to use "normal" charging, I'd rather pack a foldable solar cell and a power bank to keep it going. In Sweden where I live (you too?) one has to consider shipping, VAT, and import fees when checking AliExpress and such, it can add up to quite a sum before getting it in one's hand. **** end of rant 😁 ****

I buyed an dooge s88 plus. Is a bad phone. The android sistem is slow, video camera is very bad the touchscreen some time don't work properly........ The sound don't have a good clarity.....if someone will ask my if i recomandat this phone, for sure no no. No.
1st place phone loses my interest when a) There are other phones with better thermal cameras, 18T has lower resolution and lesser temp. range than the InfiRay 256x192 sensor b) it has no night vision camera c) too many features I don't need pushes the price up: 108Mpix main camera, 32Mpxi selfie camera, microlens camera, an extra powerful processor, and 5G (I live in the Swedish countryside so I don't have the need for 5G to check my mail, even when it in the future perhaps becomes accessible out here) Just my thoughts on it, for those who like it - go for it👍

I think I've mentioned it before on this channel but it is worth repeating: When can we see a proper real-world performance increase when using "expandable RAM"? I won't believe it is anything else than marketing thing until some proper testing is made. For me, super large batteries are also more marketing than a real-world useability feature, how often does one find oneself in a situation where you can't charge it for several days? I mean, if you are an adventurer, you probably got some portable solar charging and/or power banks in your survival equipment. You need to also charge your flashlight etc on a longer trip into the wilderness. All this my personal thoughts, of course. Looking forward to seeing a Virtual RAM test that is not in a laboratory environment or theoretical calculations.

@@dmandman9 to me, I think it is more of a "mine is bigger than yours" for many rather than a real life need. They see the charger when they're going to bed and thinks "phew, I don't need to fiddle with the cable for two more days!" 😁 I can be wrong (it does happen 😁) but that's what I believe

Others will only buy a phone with a beautiful glass back only to have to put a protective case over it. Makes no sense to me. But I’m not judging them. They like what they like. Some people evidently like having a phone that will last a week without a charge. If they weren’t so bulky and heavy, I’d consider getting one. Why? Just because it’s nice to have. We buy a lot of things we don’t NEED. But we find a certain appeal. It may be bragging rights. Or it may just be the “wow factor “. We humans are funny that way. One man’s “That’s silly” is another man’s “Wow! That’s nice” 😅

18t, how do you get to flir camera? My 18t had no apps other than Google installed.

Does the ulefone 18t have widevine L1? Nvm it does , but what US carriers is it compatible with in reality? Even counting smaller ones like mint etc
I'm not sure about all of the carriers but Tello seems to support most if not all rugged phones that are GSM
If you want to take full advantage of 5G on the 18T, then your only real option in the U.S. is T-Mobile. Since Mint is an MVNO that uses T-Mobile's network it would be a perfect choice.

@@bennylloyd-willner9667 Some people seem to like them because the previous large battery was approximately 15,000mA. Now they’re offering even larger batteries. Evidently people are buying them. I find them to be too thick and heavy. But it may not be a problem for other people.
@@dmandman9 to me, I think it is more of a "mine is bigger than yours" for many rather than a real life need. They see the charger when they're going to bed and thinks "phew, I don't need to fiddle with the cable for two more days!" 😁

@@bennylloyd-willner9667 Maybe. But people like what they like. I wouldn’t buy a non-rugged phone other than as an emergency backup. Others will only buy a phone with a beautiful glass back only to have to put a protective case over it. Makes no sense to me. But I’m not judging them. They like what they like. Some people evidently like having a phone that will last a week without a charge. If they weren’t so bulky and heavy, I’d consider getting one. Why? Just because it’s nice to have. We buy a lot of things we don’t NEED. But we find a certain appeal. It may be bragging rights. Or it may just be the “wow factor “. We humans are funny that way. One man’s “That’s silly” is another man’s “Wow! That’s nice” 😅
