🇦🇷 LAGUNA BRAVA: UNKNOWN and INHOSPITABLE place in ARGENTINA that you should KNOW

The Laguna Brava Provincial Reserve, initially called the Laguna Brava Provincial Reserve of Vicuñas and Ecosystem Protection, is located in the extreme northwest of the province of La Rioja, Argentina. It limits to the south with the province of San Juan and to the west with the Republic of Chile. It occupies part of the departments of Vinchina and General Lamadrid, with an area of 405,000 hectares.
The site includes a system of high Andean lagoons of shallow saline and hypersaline waters with associated wetlands and meadows, located above the level of 3,000 meters above sea level.
It occupies lands that correspond to the Puno and Alto Andean phytogeographic provinces with altitudes that range between 2500 meters and 4500 meters above sea level.
The extensive lagoon of more than 60km² that gives it its name is the permanent habitat of pink and white flamingos.1​
The Laguna Brava Reserve in Rioja should not be confused with its homonymous natural reserve in Corrientes, also called Laguna Brava Natural Reserve (Corrientes).
