I say trade, Debo, keep Huff and Green law and then invest in the offensive line. We may need to find one more really fast, young wide receiver to take the top off of defenses because I don’t have any faith in Brendan Aiyuk coming back.

The vast majority of Niners fans would agree--however, the real question is for how much and for how long? The 49ers are notorious for overpaying and overextending the contracts of injury prone players--the reason they're in the predicament they're now in.

Robert Saleh coming back as a DC is a total pipe dream, he's a well-respected coach, getting screwed over by a disfunctional Jets Organization, didn't hurt him. The Jets still owe him 12 million for 2025 season, he's not looking to be a Shanahan assistant coach.if he doesn't get a job this off-season or next season I could see it happening in 2026....maybe.

Big changes BETTER be coming. They need to build this offense around Purdy, and he needs a better O-Line to give him the time to find open targets to throw to. Purdy is awesome at deep passing but that needs time to develop, and they need their skill players to actually do their bleeping job. Other than that, this year was just a train wreak in slow motion. Way too much adversity to overcome. At some point too much is just too much.
If the 49ers had a bona fide O-line--by far their weakest link on offense--they would have won Super Bowl LIV. Had they addressed the O-line in the 2024 NFL Draft, they would have been Super Bowl contenders this year. It all begins in the trenches.
Purdy's issue isn't his deep ball....it's when he has to throw A LOT...as in 30+ pass attempts a game!
Can you believe, that since he took over for JimmyG in 22' vs Miami...all the way up to this last game vs Rams, Purdy's won/loss record based on # of pass attempts either being under/over 30 a game is:

Type 1 is out of the question because of all the pricey long-term contracts for their nucleus of players which 49ers won't be able to trade because of their pricey long-term contracts. Moral of the story: Don't overpay/extend contracts for washed players.

1) NEED TO BOLSTER O-LINE! Period...
You give Purdy just a little bit more time it's game over. He's running for his life in too many of the passing plays. Also, remind Purdy who Kittle is and how he made Jimmy look better than he was when he was pressured. Get Brock's shoulder healthy.
2) Brendel and McKivitz gotta go and Banks is on the fence. Push Puni to rt tackle and consider drafting a starter at C. Find vet guards or draft lucky in 2nd rnd.
3) Have a heart to heart with Deebo or trade him away. Love the man, can't stand his current level of play. Leads the team in drops and yet he's requesting the ball more. WTF?
4) Leave defense alone with the exception of Ward... Gotta talk to him about holding downfield in pass defense. Tired of the flags. Draft mid to late rounds replacement corner and light a fire under both of them. He who balls out starts on Sunday.
5) Get the team healthy - consider the Dan Campbell approach to contact during the first weeks of practice. Oh ya... And find a better injury prevention team. Ours stinks.
6) Demote/fire Sorensen. Find actual replacement - not some goober from the ranks. If they were any good they'd be the DC... They're not, so hire someone else.
7) Let Lynch know I'm available for consultation... Season tickets is all the pay I require... Oh, and airfair/car from Oregon. Lodging is not necessary, I'll crash in one of the suites.

The 49er offensive line is very poor. Holding is not blocking. Instead of running backs and receivers, they should draft and trade for a first class offensive line. They will be surprised at how much better Purdy and their running game will be.

I think the 49ers are a great team to do a great job for working hard at this and I know they can do it they just need to tell themselves they can do it and they will they can do it you just got to let yourself know hey I want to put this thing down and square I want to put in session I want to make sure I win the session and I'm not put me down for something I'm not doing wrong I know I can do it I just got to tell myself I can do it that's a good part of them they're brilliant is awesome and I hope you have a good year this year and next year

Bring back Saleh if possible, sign Huff & Greenlaw 1-2yrs, but prioritze Greenlaw, I think Mustapha and Brown have upside in development. Then trade/release Deebo, Brendal, and draft OL, C, G, and DT, DE high! Also try to get Purdy under that top $. I believe in Purdy, but hasn't shown that market reset $, especially with the ball slips.
And a athletic TE that can block to spell and develop under Kittle.
Niners MUST do everything they can to bring Saleh back, his money doesn't count against the cap so pay that man & force his hand!

Greenlaw and Warner are so much better together. Debo needs to go. Debo cost us the game against the Rams. Either way you slice it Purdy is doing his job but every time he gets us down to the red zone we get called for a penalty or receivers cant catch
And then Purdy threw a pick and helped lose the game too, so everybody's just tired. Injuries have a bad habit of plaguing physical teams. The drama didn't help and the schemes don't always work for subbed in players whom they were not built around in the first place.
The mental fatigue doesn't help either. Purdy's one to beat up on himself constantly he does it so much I almost want to recommend a good psychologist. When the o-line is three and out and our defense has to stay on the field for 2 hours it seems, OF COURSE THEY'RE GOING TO WEAR DOWN. There's not enough Gatorade on this f****** planet to energize you. Course if I was on the defense and you gave me and Red Bull, I'd fly right the f*** out of that Stadium. Red Bull gives you wings🤗
2 - retool.....many pieces in place. Focus on OL and DL in free agency and draft. Trade or release Hargrave, Ward and Deebo

Type 2. Throw HC ($5 million plus/annually) money at Robert Saleh and make him Defensive Coordinator/Asst. Head Coach. Also find an upgrade for a Special Teams coach. The York's have plenty of money so this should not be a problem for the right coaches. Target Drew Dalman (Center) and DJ Jones (DT) in free agency. Say goodbye to some high priced veterans (Juice, Hargrave, Banks, Ward, Deebo). Extend Hufanga ands Greenlaw for 2-3 more years each if possible. Gotta nail the draft! Need upgrades at RT, G, C, DT, FB and CB. Look into a good kicker to compete with Mooney. Decide on Purdy extension ($40-50 million/year) and whether that can be done this offseason.
2 = trade Deebo, put Kyle on the hot seat he's too comfortable or too stubborn to adjust or come up with new play call. His play call this season are too well know by top defensive mind coach, and hire Saleh back as DC.
Easily 2. Boy people are really prisoners of the moment. Deebo Samuel has been one of the most dominant Niners over the last 5 years. Not one player juices that offense and team like Deebo. I don’t believe he’s washed!
I have a weird feeling they may NOT move off of Deebo. Even though it would make sense as a business decision. When have the Niners ever only been all business. Loyalty. That's one of the key components they hold in high esteem as an organization. That's why so many players were Wicked off by Campbell. He broke the basic team standard by which from where you start to build loyalty. I think if they move off of Deebo in the offseason, it'll send a mini Ripple through the team That Dumping one of your captains in the gutter because of a bad year... well, don't preach to me about loyalty then in the locker room.

They don't need to break it all down. They need to just retool. First of all Kyle must hire Robert Saleh as our defensive coordinator and Jeff Ulbrich as our LB coach. We also need to hire a new special teams coordinator (I'm not sure who but definitely someone better than who we have now). The front office should also consider hiring an ex-head coach with at least a Superbowl under their belt as the offensive quality control coordinator. At that point... Our coaching staff would be set.
As for the roster....I don't think we should let Hargrave walk. I know he has struggled since joining the Niners. However, I think that he could have a solid bounce back season. I also think we need to resign Dre Greenlaw as well as Hufanga. Both are big time play makers on our defense and they both can elevate the level of play from the guys around them. I think it's time to trade Diva Samuel and CMC. Diva Samuel is not an elite WR. He lacks quickness off the line. He is not a great route runner and he struggles to get separation. I think there is a few teams that would love to have Debo and they would be willing to give up a third or fourth round pick to get him. CMC is one of the most talented players in the NFL when he is healthy. However, given is injury history, I don't see his value getting any higher than it already is. I could see us landing a late first round or an early to mid second round pick for him. They should head into the draft focused on getting one of the top two offensive tackles with their first pick. I also think they will be in position with the pick from the CMC trade to grab one of the top 3 TEs in the draft. I would love to see us draft RB- Jordan James from Oregon with our next pick. I think it would be smart for us to land a WR with the next pick before concentrating on the defensive line. This years draft is loaded with talent at DT,DE and off the ball pass rushing LBs. We should easily find day one starters on the D-line in the 4th and 5th rounds.
As for Brock Purdy... I think if we can improve the offensive line, bolster the RB group and finally and a playmaking second TE Brock would be a top 5 QB in the NFL. We should pay Brock $50 to $60 million per year

If the coach does not update and modify many of the offensive plays read and memorized by our opponents, we will never win a Super Bowl, defensively there are necessary adjustments. Need a medium rebuild, most of the players are mediocre. NEED to rebuild and get the hunger back. O-line needs better protection for Purdy. Shanny needs a huge retooling Brock Purdy needs a lot more help. Seems that all teams know the plays we run.

Don't do a fire sale. Get rid of the dead weight and spend money on impact players for both lines (D&O). Yes, Deebo needs to move on. He is finished, mainly between the ears. The only way RS would come back is if he were offered the HC position. Don't see that happening. If the defense was healthy, I don't think people would be calling for the DC to be fired. He was hired to coach a defense that never showed up because of injuries.

Hmm...The O-Line for sure needs overhauled outside of Williams and Puni. Center is in need of a major upgrade. CMC, if healthy keep him one more year. Deebo, just hasn't been his best and his best days are likely far behind him, move off of him. Defensively, keep Hufanga and Greenlaw and bring back Saleh and fire Sorenson.
Also, it's time for Jed to sit down with Kyle for a "come to Jesus" meeting, meaning it's time once again for as Steve Young said for Kyle to reinvent himself, if that means hiring an Offensive Coordinator, do it.
I like Purdy but he’s NOT a 65 million dollar qb. Trade Deebo asap. CMC is a terrific player but his injuries make him unreliable. Mason and Guerendo play great for less money.

Salea must be made defensive coordinator and if we keep Shanahan he should have an offensive coordinator in the booth. When you are on the field looking at a play card you are not aware of what the defense is doing. This happened in the Super Bowl not knowing KC was going to blitz.
In 1957 at the NFL Championship at Kezar I was young and under the cape of Joe Arenas when he was announced . We ran out together.

Maaan, the Niners were never able to replace Defo Buckner, they should of just paid him. That was a huge mistake. And he still good til this day...drafted Kinlaw in the 1st round who was a bust, then finally paid Hargrave who doesn't live up to what Defo did, smh. Niners need to draft a left tackle, defensive tackle & QB in the 1st 3 rounds...

@@kirinirik10 that's false, Buckner was traded because the Niners didn't wanna pay him. He was traded to the Colts & THEY gave him the extension. See: "The Colts signed Buckner to a four-year contract extension worth an average of $21 million per season. This made him the second-highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL at the time."
And look at what we missed out on: "Buckner has been a key player for the Colts, earning first-team AP All-Pro honors in 2020 and Pro Bowl spots in 2022 and 2024. He's also had at least seven sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, and 18 quarterback hits every year since joining the Colts." 🤦♂️
