If you've watched a lot of my videos, you won't be surprised to see this is full of time lapses. If you want to know what/where anything in this video is, I've listed all the shots in the description with time stamps!
Great camera work, Matt. Beautiful video, I'm like "And I know where that is, and that, and that." Hell, I was probably passing by in traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge when you were filming up there. :P
I was also in New York apparently during the same time as you; good to know you did the sensible thing and found cover during that rainstorm that came. I did not. It didn't end well.
Hi Matt! Just wanted to let you know that in the description when you mentioned Amtrak rail sightings from the High Line, that is actually Long Island Railroad trains in the West Side Yard. You can tell by the absence of catenary wires (LIRR uses 3rd rail) and the design of the coaches.
It's almost five years later, (so you probably won't see this) but I'd love to know your experiences flying La Compagnie! I had looked into them but was a bit wary of their tiny fleet and if anything went wrong, there'd be no backup plane.
One comment as a native New Yorker. You label your shot, "Heli: Uptown Manhattan, Between Central Park and Empire Sate Building" That is midtowm. Uptown is like Inwood park, Uptown is Harlem ( people in harlem might contest this). Just an FYI. BUT, your shot is more uptown than the stuff in FIDI (Financial District).
Not a worry, you are welcome. Always glad to help a fellow youtuber. If you are ever in NYC and hankering for a REALLY authentic Fish and Chips, go to Asalt and Battery on Greenwich street between 12 and 13th in the Village. I knew the place was authentic when they had Sarson's on the counter and the radio was playing a Manchester United game. The colourful commentary from the men behind the fryer also made for a lovely experience. asaltandbattery.com/home
Years of TV and Movies based in New York you think you know the city. I had sort of forgotten how much water front there is there. I know that sounds daft, it's Manhatten Island after all but it's like the TV and Movies never show us that part of the city.
At some point it’s the same chord progression as ‘Take on Me’ and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Thank you for sharing.
It's always great to see my hometown through the eyes of someone from away.
Made well, Matt! Nice job.
Beautiful footage as always, Matt! Thanks for continuing to share your travels with us in cinematic form! :-)

love the rain timelapses
That Osmo sure makes some buttery smooth shots!
Fancy seeing you here!
+Alistair Matthews Well hello there!
Breathtaking. Really remarkable footage and editing.
That was really beautiful, Matt. Thanks.
This gives me a feeling of ASMR.
5:30 in the morning, Matt?
There is a benefit from being up early then!
the shots in the rain amazing :)
Great video Matt! (Also nice to see you are flying the secret airline of la compagnie)
Great video great music great man thanks for sharing Matt
New York is such a beautiful city. I'd love to go back. Thanks for the video Matt, very interesting! :)
The High Line is a great way to spend an hour or two - even when it was covered in snow like the rest of New York in January 2016.
I was also in New York apparently during the same time as you; good to know you did the sensible thing and found cover during that rainstorm that came. I did not. It didn't end well.
+Andrew Keegan It was unplanned and very lucky timing for us!

Nice work. My favorite US city.
Excellent Video. Very good
thats nice, and so timelapsy...!
I like the edit with the music.
Cracking that
Here's a weird question: you can see the airline logo on the inside of the winglet on the last shot. Is that the logo for La Compagnie?
So how does our York compare to the original for you?
It's almost five years later, (so you probably won't see this) but I'd love to know your experiences flying La Compagnie! I had looked into them but was a bit wary of their tiny fleet and if anything went wrong, there'd be no backup plane.
No way! You were there at the same time as me, and filmed the same storm as me, despite both of us living in Europe. What're the odds?
I'm going in October, what are the must go places?
I must have seen this right as it went up. 6 views and no comments (as I'm writing this). Lucky me!
Those are some really awesome shots of NYC! I wouldn't want to live there, but I always enjoy visiting.
Of course you show up the one week I'm out of town :/

Ahh, thanks! Corrected!

Actually walked past that! Went for something more American though :D
+Matt Gray Makes sense. When in Rome do as the Romans do.

Why did you go there?
15 years ago he'd have been showing us pictures of the twin towers. :`(
Meanwhile I'm just hoping for your sassy commentary
