Doesn't matter who starts it, it matters who finishes it, and the USA is losing around the world. China, after a 500-year slumber, less than 10% of their existence as a civilization, is flexing.
So what you're saying is just let China abuse us and the rest of the world? And do nothing. Please read up on all the facts and for how many years China has treated so many countries and businesses with contemporary. Then post. We should have stepped up a long time ago.
The idea of China "bowing down" to the U.S., or any other country for that matter, overlooks a few important factors that define both nations' global positions. Let’s unpack why it’s unrealistic or even counterproductive to expect China to do this: 1. China's Global Power: In the 21st century, China has grown into a global superpower in its own right. Its economy is the second-largest in the world, and it's making strides in areas like artificial intelligence, infrastructure, space exploration, and even military modernization. The idea that China should "bow down" to the U.S. implies a subservient role that simply doesn’t fit with China’s aspirations or its current status. It views itself as a rising power that deserves equal respect on the global stage. 2. Historical Context of China’s Resilience: For much of its history, China was one of the dominant civilizations. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, however, China faced humiliation at the hands of Western powers (the Opium Wars, "Century of Humiliation," etc.). The modern Chinese state, under the leadership of the Communist Party, has framed its rise as a restoration of its rightful place as a global power. The idea of "bowing down" to another nation would be a rejection of that historical narrative. 3. Ideological Divide: The U.S. and China represent very different political and economic models. The U.S. is a democracy with a liberal capitalist system, while China operates under a one-party, state-driven economic model, with heavy government involvement in industry. These ideological differences shape how both countries approach governance, economics, and international relations. China isn't just focused on being a "peer" to the U.S. in the traditional sense-its goal is to establish an alternative model of global governance and development. 4. Economic Interdependence: The economic relationship between the U.S. and China is extremely complex. The U.S. relies on China for cheap goods and as a crucial player in global supply chains, while China benefits from access to American markets and technology. The idea that China would "bow down" to the U.S. is unrealistic given this interdependence. They’re not competitors who can easily be dominated; they are two global powers whose interests are often entwined. 5. Shifting Geopolitics: The U.S. has historically been the dominant global power since World War II, but the geopolitical landscape is shifting. China’s Belt and Road Initiative, its assertiveness in the South China Sea, and its growing influence in Africa and Latin America suggest that it’s no longer content to simply follow U.S. leadership. This is not a call for war or confrontation, but a sign that China has its own vision for the global order. 6. Respect for Sovereignty: One of the key principles in international relations is respect for sovereignty, which means no country should expect another to submit to it. China, like the U.S., values its sovereignty and autonomy in decision-making. While China and the U.S. may disagree on many issues, it's not realistic to expect China to bend to U.S. will as a sign of deference. Countries should cooperate and compete, but not demand submission. 7. The U.S. Is Not Infinitely Powerful: While the U.S. remains a major global force, it has faced challenges in recent decades-from military overreach (Iraq, Afghanistan), to economic struggles (2008 Financial Crisis), to the rise of other powers (China, Russia, the EU). The idea that China should "bow down" to a constantly ascending U.S. superpower is outdated. Global power is now more diffused, and the U.S. must navigate a multipolar world where it’s no longer the sole arbiter. 8. China’s Nationalism and Pride: Nationalism is a powerful force in China, and its government’s legitimacy is partly tied to its ability to protect national pride and project power. Expecting China to bow down to any other country, especially one like the U.S., risks alienating the domestic population and undermining the party’s narrative of China’s resurgence as a world leader. A submissive position is not only impractical but politically dangerous for the leadership in Beijing. Conclusion: China, as a global power, isn't looking to "bow" to anyone. The geopolitical order is shifting, and both the U.S. and China must find ways to coexist and collaborate. The idea of submission is outdated, especially in a world where power dynamics are fluid and multipolar. The real question is not whether China should bow, but how both nations can manage their rivalry and cooperation in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

You failed to mention that in its history, China has never invaded nor colonised any other countries. Its raise has been peaceful. China doesn't aspire to conquer or lead or replace the US or indeed any other nation. Chinese leaders have continually stress that China only compete with itself to be better! The US weaponise its currency and economy to a zero sum game, while China seeks a win-win situation for the benefits of all. That's the real difference!

Canada is going to look a lot more attractive. All those things China banned to export to the U.S, are being produced in Canada as well. Canada isnt just going to bow down and take it in the ass either. China economy can handle recessions a lot better than America. China has spent the past 50yrs developing it markets and establishing diverse trading partners around the world, and it has invested heavily in countries that are developing. The U.S has done the complete opposite and is now heavily dependent on it's protectionist policies to protect their domestic production. The U.S has protected itself into a bubble, into a corner. Consumers in the U.S can not afford 100,000 dollar truck, not without going in debt. It is hard to afford a new house, a new vehicle, and pay for higher food and gas prices while having to pay back the debts of owning said new home and vehicle. Wages are not going up. We will see a lot job losses and you can bet Biden is not going to spend his last month and half in office asking congress for stimulants and incentives. Things are going to be very interesting over the next 6-8 months, especially if trump holds on to his tariff plans against Canada and Mexico.
By “look a lot more attractive” do you mean as in moving there to live? Better check their immigration and citizenship requirements. People in the USA seem to think they can just show up wherever they want to and be welcome without any restrictions.
But if the government is able to tax sales and is already over spending (and will continue if any of these projects go through) how does it pay for those projects woth less tax revenue
This is a mixed bag. Imagine what an extra $200 billion a year in trade deficit dollars could do for US industry. Friend shoring has potential but, it depends on if a Trump administration can keep any friends.
well until the lithium mine in china runs dry then USA taps into its recently discovered 50 trillion dollar lithium mine. That is right read them and fing weep. With a couple of years the batteries will all be American made you will kneel to the new king of lithium batteries. ahhhhh so sweet. LOL and you won't be able to eat when grocery prices go up because the people who pick crops are gone and food manufacturers raise prices and farmers lose their farms. You have to be a special kind of stupid to think that rare metals are only used in electric cars. Sgnificant portions of the minerals and rare earth elements used in cell phones, including components like the screen, speakers, vibration motors, and even battery materials come from China. Video game consoles, TVs and other electronics depend on them.
The global economy is being imploded intentionally. This is the only conclusion to draw given: US Smoot-Hawley Tariff on 20,000 imports was first introduced in May 1929. Oct 24 the stock market crashes. June 17 1930 Tariffs are signed into law, leading to retaliatory tariffs worldwide and a two-thirds reduction in global trade as nations, including the US, imported and exported less. In a trade war, no one emerges victorious. Governments are competing with their economies, plunging them into depression to attract bids on their bonds.
People - "good we can now make these materials in the US!" It would take at least a decade to build up the infrastructure to refine and proceed these rare earths, not including approval time for environmental protection, which itself takes years to study and license. Dont forget, during covid, the US attempted to make our own masks, with billions in federal funding, and not one startup succeeded. Yes we ended up going back to China for masks.
Let me give you all some very important information about this time is different to 2008 ….most Americans were legal and benefits were paid in for unemployment insurance and Ss etc…. But 90% of your construction workers today are either not legal or even the ones that are legal are getting 1099 so they are not eligible for unemployment,,, trust me I know because several contractors that have hundreds of employees that don’t pay in ……. So when Steve ( who I watch every day) when thousands of people get laid off it’s not going to affect the employment rate……..which in turn the media is going to keep saying positive things about the economy……… and the worst part of this is millions of these workers are not paying into the social security system or taxes !!! You all heard this 1st from me and you will see
@@milkman4eva well I was a carpenter contractor for 25 years I had hundreds of workers from over the border…I paid them every week for 40 hours x their hourly wage THATS IT !!, not one guy out of a hundred were eligible for unemployment because because that money was never paid in !! So when it was time to let someone go or lay off they were not eligible for unemployment,, that’s what hundreds of contractors Been doing for many years,,
The funny thing is,.. do you honestly think if all these guys who are calling for a big recession and most of the construction workers today that came over the border which there are 10x more guys today than 20!years ago ……the government is broke !! How will all these workers get paid ?? there is no money
This decision represents the most stable and urgent action of this century, one that was imperative to undertake. Through it, we shall witness a transformation in global peace and order, as well as a shift in hegemonic thinking among nations and individuals. The double standards that Western countries have long monopolized should serve as a cautionary tale and an exemplary lesson for all.
All China has to do is to request that, All their products be returned. We will starve "eventually", cause we don't make anything. People don't even realize how much US farmland China owns in the US. Bet people don't know we don't even process a lot of our food. Grown here, picked here, shipped for processing, then shipped back, and finally USDA inspected (if that). 🤦🤷
These metals are byproducts from processing other minerals. The only reason China has a dominant position now is because it heavily subsidised production resulting in foreign sources being uneconomical. If they shut off access to these metals, production will just restart in American and European sources that have been shuttered. It will be a problem in the short term, but in the long term it will allow the world to get away from reliance on China. Once that has happened, Chinese metals will never be allowed back into those markets, so the Chinese are shooting themselves in the foot with this one. That had managed to undercut everyone else to the point where they had a virtual monopoly on the market, but that is going to end now.

Some "leaders" think that tariffs paid by the final consumer would benefit the consumer, and its unemployment situation. In the real world though, tariffs worsens the final consumer spending, and the economy of the country importing the foreign goods. Tariffs are not paid by the country manufacturing the goods. Yet another common mistake made by some "leaders" is that a trade war of tariffs would improve the greatness of a nation, while in reality history has demonstrated there are no winners. In an open international trade world, some of the key points for the success of traders are their competitive advantages, such as, quality, price, customer service, spare parts supply, innovation, quickness, and volume of supply. Keeping these points in mind, seems that it is not reasonable to try to impose the installation of a manufacturing plants say in the USA, for employment sake, when the general manual labor in the USA is one of the highest in the world, and depending of the type of industry usually most of them rely on imported parts finally assembled together, tested, and distributed.
The potential impending economic downfall of the US was orchestrated before trump was elected. Major countries have been moving pieces on the board for a few years to remove dependency on the US and existing global structures like the IMF. Alliances for resources have been formed. These tariffs are empty threats. China didn't arbitrarily make a move on Taiwan, microprocessors was a vulnerability. Everyone has accesss to oil now. Venezuela has the largest reserve and is still dirt poor. All these snoke screens are to take focus off reality and justify actions that ARE coming. If you want to take on a bigger opponent compromise thier allegiances, cut off thier supply.

We will see a lot job losses and you can bet Biden is not going to spend his last month and half in office asking congress for stimulants and incentives. Things are going to be very interesting over the next 6-8 months, especially if trump holds on to his tariff plans against Canada and Mexico.
No, China ventured into other directions...
Good luck with the rare earth extract process. It does not have a high margin, it is technical and not easy, and the environmental impact is huge.
Lol ,I guess you missed Trudeaus dinner with Trump ..
By “look a lot more attractive” do you mean as in moving there to live? Better check their immigration and citizenship requirements. People in the USA seem to think they can just show up wherever they want to and be welcome without any restrictions.

Tariffs will cause major destruction of our economy, Trump did this last time he was in office
Antimony went from $5/pound to $18/pound
Gas is going to skyrocket because of tariffs. We get 60% of our gas from Canada. 100% of the gas we produce we export. Energy independence is a lie.

Nobody needs electric vehicles, we cannot eat any of those rare metals.
We should have never been so reliant on another country to begin with.!!!!!
People - "good we can now make these materials in the US!"
It would take at least a decade to build up the infrastructure to refine and proceed these rare earths, not including approval time for environmental protection, which itself takes years to study and license.
Dont forget, during covid, the US attempted to make our own masks, with billions in federal funding, and not one startup succeeded. Yes we ended up going back to China for masks.
Borrow money to buy things you don’t need. Pretty much sums up the problem
We don't need EVs
You all heard this 1st from me and you will see
People that think already knew this.
Of course they pay into social security and taxes. They get ITIN numbers for a reason!
Ý
At least two mountains in the USA have been idetified that contain all the heavy metals that the USA needs
Billionaires don’t care they can ride it out
Lol your not a billionaire... you will be eating the same shit as your southern border brothers 🥴🤪🤣
Then go right ahead.
Same goes to the halt in semi conductors, only temporary setback.
Save your cash people
More importantly, pay off your debts. Money will have less value as the cost of things increase. Lowering consumer debt will provide purchasing power.
