Thank you Kerry 🥰 finally harvesting, it feels so good, it's definitely a slow season 🫣 Who knew munching raw veggies would become such a bad habit 😂 I ate almost all of my raddish at the allotment on evenings watering after work to keep me going till dinner!!

Fab that college is going so well. The Tiny Garden looks great. Spinach is a finicky for me in the best of seasons. Viro Flay is about the most delayed bolter I've found. None of them are fool proof here, because we warm up so fast. I've been so hot that I could not transplant my Garleeks. Too afraid they will die (have already lost some leeks to transplant woes in the heat). Glad that you had family time. We'll all be waiting whenever you can put out content.
Thanks Robin ♥️ soon I will be finished 🎓✊ I'll have to make a note of that variety! Oh no way, I can't imagine that heat, honestly I would melt 🫠 I hope you are able to get them in soon though 🤞, mine are now standing tall after their transplant, can't wait to eat them!!
Lovely to see you Laura. I somehow missed your last video. I think spinach is a nightmare. I find growing it in shallow trays as micro greens best and in the house in a cool room.
Oh wow Lynn I must give that a try!! I have loads of shallow trays from my propagator set! I have grown so many plants inside to start the season I have plenty of space now to give this a try! 🍃😁
@@thetinygarden_ it is so quick too. Just wait at least for the first tru leaves before taking a harvest. I am reall fed up of the supermarket spinach going mushy and smelly after a day or two.
Congratulations on having done so well on your exams, and in your gardens, too! Your college/university coursework of course has to take precedence over making and posting videos, and how could you not have taken time to see family. And how lovely that you're an auntie again! Have you grown red Brussels sprouts before? You know they are much later maturing than the green B-sprouts varieties, yes? Depends partly on which red Brussels sprout you are growing but 210-260 days is typical for red sprouts. (I'm trying both "Rubine" and "Red Bull" Brussels sprouts this autumn and next [h'mm, let me think a bit]..very early next spring for both of them just to see whether one sowing or the other does better.) I'm reckoning it's always worth trying a sowing of something, for it might work out brilliantly if the weather cooperates with you, and to try is at least a try, a chance, where not trying at all guarantees you won't have a second harvest. And yours is a much milder winter than I have here, so I rather envy you that. You might want to wait just a wee while longer before giving your spinach a second go. About it having bolted: sometimes for some crops it takes only a day or two of too-high temperatures to upset their growth cycles and to cause them to go to seed. Do you have seeds of that variety and of a second one to do a comparison (next spring-summer, I imagine) or just seeds to plant a bit closer to autumn to see how it grows in cooler weather? Much gardening love from Northeast Ohio, U.S.A.! 😊💚💚💚💚💚😊

Hiya, Laura! 🥰🌱❤️ Roo and Goose are so cuuute! 💕 Wow, I will try broad beans next season. Those looked yummy. Love that new plant stand! Great deal. Congrats on becoming a new Auntie and passing your exams, missy! ❤ Spinach, carrots, and beets have been the crops I’ve yet to grow successfully the last 4 seasons, but I’ll keep trying! I love the mix of flowers in your garden as well. Take care! 💕
Thank you Sox 🤗 I hope you are keeping well, lovely to hear from you 😀 she absolutely loves her teddies! I love a good garden bargain! That's what we do right, try and try again! We will get it right one day!!
Congrats on becoming an auntie again! And on your garden, it looks amazing. Im definitely going to put in some more early blooming flowers next year, my veg have definitely suffered from lack of pollinators this year, even tho i have marigolds dotted around. I even had to help the courgettes out with a little paintbrush. My neighbours must thjnk ive lost the plot 😂
Hey Sandra 👋 🤣 that makes two of us crazy plant ladies!! I must check on my courgettes this evening at the plot. I do think pollinators in general are few and far between, not many bees or butterflies. I was so dubious about dedicating such a big space to flowers but I actually love it, although, i will move the chives they are just over taking everything and look messy now! X
What a busy lady you are 😊 well done on your exams 🎉 garden looks beautiful, and lovely to hear about family time, thank you for great video, you certainly have done well with your broad beast, slugs had all mine.. Roo looks so chilled 😊

Your garden looks lovely & healthy, nice bean harvest, they look wonderful 👍 I'm a bit disappointed in my cobra beans this year, not as good as last year, I don't think the weather has helped with it being so wet & dull all the time, the amount of people saying the same, but it won't put me off lol. It was lovely to see you & don't worry you do what you must, family, work, etc, we're all the same sometimes. Have a lovely weekend & happy gardening xx
Thank you so much 🥰 I like to fill the beds and containers to the brim 🤣 maybe not the advice recommended in the back of the seed packet but its working 🤭xx
Hi Laura, and Happy belated Birthday!🥳 With regards to the nodules I understand that the British Isles have had a lot of rain this season and (relatively) little clear and sunny days. Rainwater has a lot of nitrogen in it, so I believe the excess has allowed the plants to store more N in their roots. Less light also means less need for all that nurrient to build biomass above ground which excacerbates it further. A nice bonus for the coming few seasons as it slowly breaks down into the soil😁 I hope this helps. Best of luck with the final crunch for finishing your studies, you are killing it and I am in awe at everything you are able to achieve! Kind regards from Northern Norway
Oh wow now that is interesting!!! I must do some more research into this nodule thing! Thank you for sharing that info 🤞 we definitely get lots of rain and overcaste days over here! Not long left now and I will be able to graduate all going well!! 🎓👩🎓 Take care 🤗
Love goose 🦆❤. Omg everything looks so green and lush! Was that a beefsteak tomato I spied?? 😅. What a bargain with the shelving! I hope you enjoyed your birthday btw! And how lovely that you got to spend time with family that's expanding ❤ well done with college!! Bang em out as and when Laura, we'll still be here x
😆😆 she loves Goose, takes it everywhere with her, his wings have squeakers inside them which I am guilty of stepping on multiple times!! 🤭 You know I thought the same with that tomatoes but the label says black shadow, after a quick google I am not sure, so maybe I have some of them mixed up 🤔🧐 I had a lovely birthday 💐🎂 thank you!! 🥰X
As someone who has a terrible habit of trying to do too much all at once and then rapidly burning out, I'm glad to hear that you have taken breaks from filming and editing while your life gets hectic! I've been so busy myself this last month or so that I've had trouble trying to find time to watch UA-cam videos 😅 I've got a week of leave, and the To Do list is a mile long, but I've forced myself to book in some fun stuff so that I don't accidentally burn out when I'm meant to be relaxing off work 😂 Congrats on being an Aunty again! And Roo is so adorable with Goose. Hopefully she'll focus on Goose and leave your garden alone. Especially big congrats on your studies! Hope the final project goes well! 🤞🏻 Also, Happy Birthday! 🎉❤🎂 I really hope you have another wonderful trip around the sun 😁
Hey 👋 so lovely to hear from you!! Life totally gets in the way! She loves Goose 🦆 and it certainly kept her distracted 😁 lovely to hear you have been keeping busy and have some time off work too! Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes and luck for my final assignment 🥰 xx
30k words?! You take your time love! Jaysus Love catching your vids, so nice to see Roo what a beauty she is, how has she not chewed that toy to bits? My Zion, staffy cross, wrecks everything but sure that's how he enjoys himself so you do you mate. What breed is she? Garden looks amazing, been a tough year, but things are definitely coming to life on my balcony, lots of colour now. I've learnt tons in my first year, already looking forward to next. Best of luck with the assignment and congrats of the exams results!!
Haha... only a few thousand words to go 8000 complete and it's due in 3 weeks 🫠🥹 Roo loves Goose 🦆 she also has Doofus (french bulldog teddy) they are both perfectly intact, I can't believe it because she is a chewer. Anything cardboard, toilet rolls, boxes, and post! She chews it all! She's a Cane Corso, she was the runt of the litter so a little bit smaller than average! It was such a slow season, I was harvesting tomatoes this time last year 🤷♀️ so lovely to hear you balcony garden is coming together 🥰
I gotta get a goose and doofus for my boy see how he does! She's an absolute angel, beautiful coat. Keep up the good work, and don't forget to take a break for your mind now and again. Look forward to your next update when you get the time. Have a fab weekend!
Could be that there are more nodules cos there plant still wants to make beans. They get used up as each flower gets pollinated, normally (but who said this year is normal? LOL)
Well that is very interesting Steve who knew the nodules were used up, good job I cut them back...free nitrogen! I must do some more research into it, I find it so interesting 😆!
Hi Laura! First of all congratulations on your exams , both of your gardens are looking fabulous, every thing here is dead too hot ,anyway I hope you enjoyed the magazine I sent you ? I hope it gave you lots of ideas, 😂

Do you know what the spinach variety was? Yours is much larger but I tried growing spinach for the first time this year, got a small harvest but then it also seemed to bolt, and our weather in South Wales probably hasn't been much warmer than yours.

Sorry to hear your health isn't the best 😔 I think the selection you have growing, despite everything you have going on, are daily must haves in the kitchen 👏 I hope it's nothing too serious and things improve for you, sending big hugs 🤗 take care Barry xx
Good Evening. Just wanted to let you know. I have just come across your channel and have just been binge watched all of your episodes.
I'm loving them!!
This appears to be the last one loaded though...😢
Hey Kerrie 👋 so glad you like the garden, it's so different from last year and chuffed it's all looking healthy! So busy and with work in the mix it can be hard to keep up sometimes😆 the slugs went after a few of my dahlias in the flower bed 🙄 I suppose I'd rather that than my carrots! 🥕🐌 Roo is turning into a right lazy girl 🤣!! X
Congratulations on your studies
Thank you so much, not long left to go 🎓🤞👩🎓
Don't know where you find the time to fit everything in. Home garden looks absolutely amazing. Packed with goodies. Your shelf is fabulous. Good luck with your research paper.
😆 sometimes I struggle to find the time Ann! Thank you so much I am so glad you like the home garden, full to the brim with plants! Not long left with university, I am onto my last three chapters!!
@@thetinygarden_ woo hoo. You'll smash it. X
Hi laura
Hope ur well
Your doing fantastic
With ur garden and allotment
Im stil fighting a loosing battle .with slugs and my pumpkins
They just wont leave them
I keep moving them around
And still they find them x
Hey Janet 👋 thank you so much, finally picking a few veggies! I have mange tout every other day and it's enough for two people for dinner 😁 slugs were a nightmare last year I have been on slug hunt quite regularly this year, lots of tiny ones smaller than a grain of rice 🧐
So lovely to hear from you, I hope you are keeping well 🤗x
Congrats on your exams and new neice/nephew! The garden looks absolutely glorious, you've done an amazing job considering the weather we've been having!
Thank you so much Lizzie 🤗the weather has been so bad recently and we are definitely a month or so behind with the start of the season having been so cold! I am not sure if my tomatoes will be able to hang in there with the amount of rain and cool days we are having, I am keeping my fingers crossed though 🤞😆
Belated Birthday wishes Laura, hope you had a fabulous day. Thats a fantastic little garden you have, oh and CONGRATS on your exam and assignment results and i am sure you will pass the 30,000 word research piece with flying colours as well. Nice 1 👍
Thanks you Jimmy so glad you like the garden 🙂 I had a lovely birthday one year older and wiser! 😂 Not long now and I'll be finished studying I can't wait 👩🎓🤞🎓

Hi Laura 👋

Hey Louise 👋 thank you so much, you're so kind! Looking forward to finishing university and thrilled with the garden so far! I hope you are keeping well, take care till next time 🤗x
@@thetinygarden_ see you soon take care in the meantime X
Congratulations on your exams Laura & lovely to hear you've become an Auntie again 😊 Today has been really warm, first time in a good few days, got some parsnips sown today & just pottered really, my husband cut the grass for me so that looks nice now. My cabbage & sprouts are growing really good now, I've blinked & there getting so tall now, carrots are coming along nicely too.
Wow you have so much packed into a tiny space, and they all look great. I'm gonna have to up my game!!!
Congrats on passing exams !
Lovely video thanks your very busy as always
Thank you Sarah 🥰
I love ur garden thank you for showing us xx
Thank you for watching Debbie ♥️
Love goose 🦆❤. Omg everything looks so green and lush! Was that a beefsteak tomato I spied?? 😅.
What a bargain with the shelving!
I hope you enjoyed your birthday btw! And how lovely that you got to spend time with family that's expanding ❤ well done with college!!
Bang em out as and when Laura, we'll still be here x
😆😆 she loves Goose, takes it everywhere with her, his wings have squeakers inside them which I am guilty of stepping on multiple times!! 🤭
You know I thought the same with that tomatoes but the label says black shadow, after a quick google I am not sure, so maybe I have some of them mixed up 🤔🧐
I had a lovely birthday 💐🎂 thank you!! 🥰X
As someone who has a terrible habit of trying to do too much all at once and then rapidly burning out, I'm glad to hear that you have taken breaks from filming and editing while your life gets hectic!
I've been so busy myself this last month or so that I've had trouble trying to find time to watch UA-cam videos 😅 I've got a week of leave, and the To Do list is a mile long, but I've forced myself to book in some fun stuff so that I don't accidentally burn out when I'm meant to be relaxing off work 😂
Congrats on being an Aunty again! And Roo is so adorable with Goose. Hopefully she'll focus on Goose and leave your garden alone.
Especially big congrats on your studies! Hope the final project goes well! 🤞🏻
Also, Happy Birthday!
Jaysus
Love catching your vids, so nice to see Roo what a beauty she is, how has she not chewed that toy to bits? My Zion, staffy cross, wrecks everything but sure that's how he enjoys himself so you do you mate. What breed is she?
Garden looks amazing, been a tough year, but things are definitely coming to life on my balcony, lots of colour now. I've learnt tons in my first year, already looking forward to next.
Best of luck with the assignment and congrats of the exams results!!
Haha... only a few thousand words to go 8000 complete and it's due in 3 weeks 🫠🥹
Roo loves Goose 🦆 she also has Doofus (french bulldog teddy) they are both perfectly intact, I can't believe it because she is a chewer.
Hi laura happy birthday for yesterday hope you had a lovley day mine is tomorrow well done on your exams and gardens xx
Hey Corrine 👋 thank you so much! Oh wow your birthday is tomorrow 🥳🎉 happy birthday 🎂🎈 hope you have a great day! Xx
Thank you x
Forgot to add.. I LOVE THE INTRO too 😊❤
Haha thank you Roo up to her old tricks 😂♥️
Gorgeous garden!
Thank you Maria 🤗
Hope all is well sweet
Been thinking of u x
Could be that there are more nodules cos there plant still wants to make beans. They get used up as each flower gets pollinated, normally (but who said this year is normal? LOL)
Well that is very interesting Steve who knew the nodules were used up, good job I cut them back...free nitrogen! I must do some more research into it, I find it so interesting 😆!
@@thetinygarden_ Cool. It's why you have to cut down field beans before they flower if you use them as green manure.
Hi Laura! First of all congratulations on your exams , both of your gardens are looking fabulous, every thing here is dead too hot ,anyway I hope you enjoyed the magazine I sent you ? I hope it gave you lots of ideas, 😂
Hey Rosemary 👋 thank you so much, last push now, hopefully all the study will be worth it in the end! I absolutely loved the magazine you were so kind and thoughtful to send it over to me! 🥰 Lots of ideas for my garden for sure!
I hope the weather starts to cool down for you soon so you can get going on a fall garden 🤞
Do you know what the spinach variety was? Yours is much larger but I tried growing spinach for the first time this year, got a small harvest but then it also seemed to bolt, and our weather in South Wales probably hasn't been much warmer than yours.
Hey Andy 👋 the spinach is called Mikado F1, I'd say we have similar climates for sure! Hopefully there is a bit more sunshine to come ☀️
@@thetinygarden_ :) I tried "Emilia" (well, it was what they had in the supermarket when I decided to give a few things a go!) also supposedly slow to bolt. Might give it one more try in August.
You haven’t uploaded for a little while. Hope all is well with you.
Laura, what was the broad bean vareity? Just subbed.
Thank you for subscribing Ged! I hope you enjoy the channel! They are called bunny yards exhibition, I love them! 😆
My spinach was the same
Total pain isn't it Elaine! 🙄
Hi Laura, been awhile since you have done a video. Hope you are okay. Wondering what is happening at your allotment.
Hi Laura! I'm just thinking of you are you ok ? ❤
@@rosemarymurray8256 hi rosemary ❤️ I was only talking about you the other day and said I must get pen to paper! I just finished my final presentation at university, struggled to juggle the time but I am very well! I will tell you all about it when I write to you! I hope you are well! Talk soon ❤️xx
@@thetinygarden_ I'm so happy that all is well with you ! I hope you had time with both of your gardens,?🍓
@@rosemarymurray8256 it has been so busy Rosemary I think I have been eating from the garden for the last couple of months! The only thing I have bought from the shop is garlic and onions! How is the weather? Has it cooled down yet? Xx
@@thetinygarden_ well it's still very hot today its 110 but next week we should be in the 90s yay its about time ,cant wait ,I got so much to do ,🌡🌻
hey! How are you? No more videos coming? No updates?
Everything looking so good now we're getting some sunshine at last 🌿🌸🫛🥬 I actually saw a butterfly 🦋 today have hardly seen any bees 🐝 or butterflies at all - maybe a few ladybirds 🐞 but not many of them either 🤦 it's been a strange year 🙄
Hey Helena 👋 we need more sunshine!! 🌞 It has been raining the last two days!
I don't think there are as many pollinators around, I have so many more flowers this year but haven't seen an increase in the bees which is a real shame, cabbage whites have been few and far between as well! I never see any lady birds at home I've seen 1 in the last three years 🧐🤔🐞 definitely a strange year!
