My favorite red is Anna Karina by Wearingeul. It doesn't look like much at first sight, but once it dries and you're reading it back it is absolutely gorgeous in my mind ♥️
I have the smaller bottles of Writers Blood and Oxblood and love them but I was gifted Platinum Classic Cassis Black and LOVE IT. It can get really dark depending on on the pen but the shading of the red peaking through is 🤌🏻. And a nice vibrant punchy red I enjoy is Sailor Shikiori Irori, I had it inked up all summer last year.
My all-time favorite red is Diamine red dragon. My next four would include diamine oxblood, wearingeul Anne of green Gables, wearingeul Dracula, and Birmingham Pen Company’s Butchers Blood.
I use and enjoy Diamine Oxblood, Writer’s Blood and Ancient Copper too. My favorite real red is Diamine Red Dragon, a gorgeous deep but lively scarlet. When I want a lighter, brilliant red for annotation, I choose Waterman Audacious Red; it leans slightly on the warm orange side instead of the cooler magenta side. I wonder why so many of my favorite red(dish) inks are from Diamine? From what I have seen, I would also like their Poppy Red and Monaco Red, but I am happy with the similar Red Dragon. They really have a lot of attractive red inks in their line. I enjoyed this video and hope you make more about your favorites in different color ranges.
I’ll absolutely look up that Waterman ink, sounds gorgeous and I’ve heard so so much about Red Dragon. I may need to look into grabbing that one. I’m with you though. Diamine reds are super special (poppy red DOES look beautiful!). Hoping to eventually have videos on all color categories; so glad you enjoyed this one ☺️💕
@@julia-here : thanks for replying! Waterman Audacious Red is lighter than the red inks you and I gravitate to, but it’s so full of energy and really pops next to dark printed or written text, hence my use for annotation rather than regular writing or drawing. (My other annotation inks, also light-toned and intense, are Diamine Meadow, a springy yellowish green, and Noodler’s Southwest - formerly Apache - Sunset.) Another honorable mention for your Favorite Reds list is Diamine Syrah, another deep red. It leans cooler than Oxblood; it’s pretty but I prefer Oxblood.
Thanks for watching! 💋 - leave your red ink picks here in the comments!
