People don't actually die of old age. They die because some vital organ or system fails. So really, a cancer death isn't all that different from any other death. I just hope that she wasn't in great pain in her final days.

At 96, it doesn’t really matter the cause of death anymore. It’s still considered old age as she lived to a ripe old age indeed. Well, there is "broken heart syndrome" where a widow/widower just loses the will to go on after their spouse dies. Considering the stresses that Her Majesty was facing around the time Philip died, and shortly thereafter, it would make sense if something in her basically said "ok, I'm in my 90s now, Philip is gone, the world I knew when I took the throne is gone, so there's no point in me staying here; let Charles handle it now" and off she went. I do think one thing that kept her from falling into depression was her unwavering faith in God. She was a very staunch believer.

To be honest to anyone who’s ever worked on an oncology ward it was pretty obvious for at least a year before she died what her health issue was. It’s amazing that everybody cared enough about her and her privacy to not speculate or broadcast the facts. The saddest thing for me is that she was probably diagnosed before Prince Phillip died and he knew he’d have to leave her in her time of need. I’m glad she wasn’t without him for too long, just one Christmas, just a small comfort.

distinctly recall the BRF all together, minus her Late Majesty, paying tribute at the Cenotaph (I hope I got that right) on Remembrance "Poppy" Day. I had never seen a more strained group of People in all my days. The RF rarely ALL look as if they're going to the gallows in short course. I recall clearly how my own heart broke for that Family. I seem to remember too, that there was something in the press about the Queen having a "Strained Back" and Charles and William were standing in...All the Girls on Balconies. It was then that I felt instinctively that was when they had been told that soon their World and Ours would never be the same. I do believe that was the year that Harry asked for a wreath to be laid for him which was refused. (That kicked up quite a stink over on both sides of the pond btw). Since I was a child I've admired the Queen. However, I wasn't Sad when she left us. Her place was with her soulmate. She was blessed in this life with True Love and Her After and everlasting life is the same. She believed it and so do I. That's the way I see it. Thank you, from your friend in America. 🙂‍↕️🇺🇲

He was also a Tory Mp for a substantial amount of time, so it's therefore not surprising he would know Boris, although he doesn't always speak about him in a favourable way !!! As the serving prime minister in the weeks before her majesty's death Boris would have been privy to information on the Queens health particularly if it was as we now know something as serious as bone cancer ,sadly we could all see her physically decline and were preparing for the inevitable 😢 The only people who didn't seem to realise her fragility at that time were grandson number 3 and his wife .

Clearly, the Queen did not wish to have the actual cause of death on her Death Certificate and had asked to have the cause of death given as simply “old age”. Since her medical advisers have maintained their duty of patient confidentiality, we shall probably never know all of the exact details of her medical condition. The expression “bone cancer” is often used very loosely by lay people. Often, they mean some disorder of the bone marrow, which affects the production of red or white blood cells. This is not “bone cancer” - it is a disorder of the blood. Bone cancer, strictly so called, is a malignant growth of bone tissue. This disease is usually fatal in quite a short space of time. However, disorders of the blood, which involve some disorder, often cancer, of the bone marrow, are not always immediately fatal. A patient can suffer from such conditions for many years. In such cases, the patient often simply gradually “fades away”.

I believe Boris would have asked King Charles before releasing his memoir and the information he has given about The Queen. I never doubted Lady C. She's usually pretty spot on and I believe she has more than one source within the palace and is friendly with many members of the aristocracy.
The Queen was such an amazing lady and strong to the very end. I can't imagine how much pain she must have been in and yet she never complained and put everyone else first right up to her very last day.

A trooper right up to the end. Given she had the "C-Word", it made her be the third Royal (after her father, George VI, and her sister, Princess Margaret) to suffer from it (although in her case, it affected her bones; her father and sister had lung cancer due to heavy smoking). Of course we know for the fact is that Charles III has the "C-Word" as well, thus we wonder what gene the Royal Family is carrying around (as the hemophilia gene from Queen Victoria has pretty much been "eradicated" due to the female carriers dying off; with other descendants either marrying distant cousins, non-royal nobles like the Queen Mother or Lady Diana Spencer, or marrying commoners like the current Princess of Wales or the current Duchess of Edinburgh).
