Been looking at how different spins affect my shots. Your video was perfect timing for me to help me understand it. Thank you. Can I ask what figures you use for your headwind and tailwind modifiers?
Hi Babz. For the 4 iron punch at PGA did you modify the calculation for elevation and wind as compared to normal shots? Or is the calculation the same for punches and normal shots? Jeff
Calculations all stay the same, however the approach strategy changes. I typically only punch from the fairway in headwinds bc they help keep the ball from releasing. Also a lower flying ball means I don’t want to end up past the hole so choosing your landing spot becomes important.
Wedges are pretty straight forward. Typically use full back spin on the 64, and flat on the 75/100. Just have to keep in mind elevation and wind direction/speed. If you’re punching with an iron, the situation will largely dictate your landing spot. Uphill is best in a headwind to help hold the ball so you would want to give yourself a couple yards of room to land. As shown in the video, my punch on pga landed well short of the pin bc it’s a flatter surface, lower ball flight, and needs room to release.
lol I laughed when you holed that shot. Perfect example on how to play that hole :)
😂😂
Great info ,brilliant last shot 😂,Thanks 👊🏼
Cheers mate 💪🏻
Hi Babs, Great you share this, very learning, ... Again look easy when you do it!.... ;)
Thank you! Cheers!

Right on brother. I use 180 for head and 260 for tailwinds. 🤘🏻
@@Babzilla33 awesome thanks 🙏

Always here for you mate
Another great video, thanks
Ty sir 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. Is there a rule of thumb on calculating punches distances in wind. I overshot the pin too many times
