Come for the dad jokes, stay for the facts.
Me, I come for the research, stay for the dad jokes!
He’s had some great ones. I really liked his “boomer Barbie” joke the last time :p
Genuine medication following genuine doctor and follow up appointments combined with external correct treatment took me from genuine disability to genuine functioning , the removal pushes me back regularly into disability throughout day. I’ve slid in and out of both more times than anyone ever should.
Consistency in everything is a theme in ADHD, I can relate, even in being consistent.😅
Qualified joke is really hilarious 😂 from South Korea ADHD company worker!
Thank you for your info. I'm a Pastor and Counselor (former Army Chaplain). I found out I had ADHD while getting my M.S. in counseling psychology. Thankfully the school recognized it and gave incompletes instead of Fs and I was able to finish the courses and graduate successfully. I'm am thankful for finding your videos. I really appreciate the videos of your lectures in Canada years ago.
I've noticed that many people with anxiety are really struggling with ADHD. Especially women.
I wish I could read your books, but I struggle with that greatly.
I tried meds, Concerta, when I was in school, but it exasperated my restless leg syndrome. Because of circumstances I have not tried other meds. Being an introvert and having ADHD does not bode well with finding a provider. Reading all the troubles folks have with uncaring/uneducated doctors and medicine shortages don't help motivate me either.
Thank you.
Thank you for all you do. I have been aware of your channel for a while, but in shocking ADHD news, I have not gotten around to watching! Watching your older lectures over the years were so helpful in truly understanding my ADHD, which in turn has allowed me to be kinder to myself about it, to approach managing it more effectively, recruiting those around me to support. I was not diagnosed and treated until I was in my late 30s, so the journey of understanding has been an eventful 10 years. You have been a fundamental part of that journey.
Diagnosed and medcated in my early fifties. Life improved but 15 years later i sometimes cry myself to sleep for the half-century of wasted struggles. Still cannot like myself. It has been heart-breaking. A life of insufficient education, countless jobs, many failed relationships, poor financial decisions. A sad life.
I hear you!!! I have those days too. Diagnosed at 57 while the meds have worked very well, but what a waste of opportunities. Somehow, since taking the stimulants (slow-release ritalin), my self-hatred isn't the obsession that it was. This week I fell into a 2-day-long hole after my therapist and a close friend said what I heard as 'could do better' and 'must try harder' I wanted to scream at them and say I KNOW!!!!!!!! If that kind of talk worked, I wouldn't have any problems because I've nagged myself fairly constantly for 40 years, and it mostly made things worse.
Lost all my money due to dumb decisions, and lost my art career too. Some days I can see how I'm rebuilding things and wondering what I can do with this experience - there are so many of us!
Thank you so much for the weekly updates! They serve a great purpose of spreading evidence-based knowledge and information!
Thanks!
Well I’ve got bad ADHD and I have been dealing with bad temper and irritability my entire life and yet 2 years ago is when I started smoking weed everyday. Recently I’ve also started vaping nicotine. I’ve also almost tried cocaine before but luckily I didn’t go through with it. I do know that I’ve also been through a lot of family trauma and failures of school etc. so maybe the substance use disorders are caused by irritable ADHD which could also be related to trauma of some kind.
Thank you so much for your Videos and Research Updates! ✨ And the Dad Jokes are a great Bonus 👌🏻

❤❤❤❤thank you thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🪬🧿☮️

Thanks doctor 🩷
Can’t wait for the next dad jokes
Name change suggestion for a new subset of the journal: PSYCHOLOGY Journal of the American Medical Association: PJama! 😂
Can you please help me with something? It's a big ask but please I'm helpless. My father doesn't understand what ADHD is. He found videos online that ADHD is not real. I'm capable. I'm smart. Until 12 I had aced all the tests in school. I'm in a rut now. My father thinks stimulant medications have side effects. I want to go abroad, use medication and study. Can you please make a video explaining why medication is important and how ADHD symptoms affect someone's life? Please Dr Russell.
Hey Doc. Thank you so much for all this great information on ADHD. I was diagnosed at 40 and I had no idea how much it had been affecting my life. I am 43 years old now and just now learning how to manage this thing.
Can you address the what seems to be mass shortage of Adderall happening? It seems to be out everywhere.
It was helping me quite a bit, but I I haven’t had it for about a year now.
Thanks so much to you or anyone else that may be able to give insights on this and possibly some leads to get it
Have you considered trying Vyvanse? The generics have hit the market recently as well.
I feel stuck i haven't taken adhd medicine since I was 19 and had fallen into meth cocaine and alcohol for like 9 years im 2 1/2 years sober and have done it with gardening ,cannabis ive felt stuck though i really don't feel like any medicine 💊💊 does anything but lessen the adhd symptoms and causes probably later harm in the future
Hey Russell, there is an uprise in adhd glasses. Are those real? How do they work?
😂😂😂😂 dad joke ❤
Pragmatic language refers to the use of language socially - knowing what to say, how to say it, and when to say it. I don't think it could be defined as The use of language to accomplish a goal / goal-directed speech, as you did here.
Sounds like you’re on the same page tbh.
Your goal is to know how, when and what to say X. You know this, you know what you want to say. But when it’s translated from thought to words, it ends up as something like Y, almost X, z! Oh and Y! Oh did i say that already sorry got excited
Thank you very much sir.
❤word😢
u get a like for that joke😄
Do you like Atomoxetin ? To treat ADHD on 16 y/o girl?
She dies have anxiety and difficulty of executive function
He won't give recommendations but I'm on it and highly recommend trying it out. I was an anxious type and it really helped.
I also combine it with a low stimulant dose too.
CBT is boring though and doesn’t really address the trauma of having adhd.
That's what support groups are for. CBT is about looking toward the future and taking responsibility of your life right now
Thanks!
