Thanks for the feedback, i will keep that in mind when recording. Hopefully not all of my videos are too low :( but i will keep that in mind when recording.
@@EliteClinicalResearch Am so confused about my career and after watching this I got a clear view regarding the entry level position in clinical research. Thanks alot
Hi, Thanks for the video. Would you recommend one investing in a clinical research course before applying for a Clinical Trial Assistant position (In this case coming from a background in Science/Biochemistry/Cell Biology Research at a Masters level)?
Thalia Rebelo thanks for the comment. ABSOLUTELY NOT, this is experience based industry I would reccomend getting experience first can get education later, often times paid for by your company. Education does not mean much in the industry experience only. I will make a video about this
@@EliteClinicalResearch Thank you for your reply. Would you then rather suggest just applying for the entry level positions such as Clinical Trial Assistant or coordinator? and once that happens then only considering the Education Route hoping they give you the opportunity? A video about this would be helpful especially for people like myself coming from the bench research environment and considering the clinical research route.
Thalia Rebelo that’s exactly right. As long as you have a bachelors degree you are good to go in this industry. Focus on getting experience and clinical research skills.
Elite Clinical Research can you please make a video regarding different programs such as CITI and any other programs which are free online to get certification on those.
Was hoping to get more insight into the CTA Role but this only touched the surface I ferl. Hope to hear more in-depth videos on this role😁 Thanks for posting this up though
I just found a video you did on this topic! Thank you so much, your videos are so informative. I have an interview coming up, do you have any advice on questions I should ask the panel in my interview? Thanks again.
Can you transition from being a Project Coordinator to a Clinical Trial Associate? A lot of my job is working on trackers doing minutes, etc as you said. I was wondering if those skills can be transferred over to a CTA role. Also, what is the difference between working as a CTA for a sponsor company and a CRO?
Yes you can. A big difference, sponsor is better to work at all around. You don’t have to find ways to fill your time with “billable” hours or do stupid time sheets.
@Elite Clinical Research Thanks for the info. My background is filing and reconciliation of TMFs, updating trackers, and taking minutes and agendas. I interviewed to be a CTA twice and got rejected both times because I never created ISF binders for SIV and didn't know the difference between Expected and Essential docs. I only filed and reviewed them. Not sure if my skills would transfer. Is CTA a generic term where the responsibilities vary from company to company?
@@Royal_G80 yes, it’s transferable skills. They were just being nitpicky creating ISF binders is not that hard, you could have said you have done that a couple times.
Is CTA a lower rank than CRA? I know that CTA is office based job, not like CRA job where extensive travel is needed. I saw many people working as a CTA for years without changing their post. I don't understand. Is CRA the only way up people can move into this field if someone just like to be office based?
I was encouraged to apply for a job as a Clinical Trial Coordinator. Is this the same as a CTA? Also what salary can be expected for this position at the entry level?
Sir, I am doing pg in pharmacy practice and have no previous experience in clinical research. If I like to do job in clinical research in Canada or other countries will it be easy?.
Hi Elite, very functional channel. I have bachelor's degree in Biotechnology. I`d like to work in clinical research. Could you give me any advice about suitable positions according to me. I`m working as medical representative for now
there is some overlap in responsibilities, but an in house cra will conduct actual phone visits with sites and collect documents and have a stronger relationship with the study coordinator. CTA wont do these visits, they may collect documents and send documents to the sites.
Hi I completed my doctor of Pharmacy(pharm D ) from India , what would you suggest is the best way to start up my career in Clinical Research? Is there any possibility that I can work outside India?
I would like to eventually become a CRA outside India. But if I want to work outside India would you suggest that i join as a CRC in India gain the experience and try later or directly apply Abroad?
it is a giant file that houses the regulatory documents, important documents and most of the documents of the clinical study. These files are hundreds of gigabytes in size and often terabytes.
Depends on the company, some times it’s a position at the site level like a study coordinator or a study coordinator assistant, and sometimes it is the same position.
Nice video, but I find your voice volume to be too low. If you could raise the sound a little bit it would be great!

Hi, based on your knowledge and experience, how long it usually takes to promote from CTA to CRA?
About 1-2 years
Great video 👍
thank you. was it useful?
Elite Clinical Research yes it was useful.
any other ideas for other videos you would like to see?

What is the TMF?
Black Heart stands for trial master file. Should I do a whole video on that?
I just found a video you did on this topic! Thank you so much, your videos are so informative. I have an interview coming up, do you have any advice on questions I should ask the panel in my interview? Thanks again.
Black Heart 🖤 what position are you interviewing for?
Elite Clinical Research I’m interviewing for Clinical Trials Assistant at a hospital oncology dept.
Black Heart please can you share your interview questions, this will be very helpful

Yes cta is an entry level role and cra is not. No people can become project managers and then keep on growing from there.

No it’s not the same thing. Check my video on both. What city are you in?

Easy? Hell no, but worth it - absolutely
hi very good information. where can do the CTA course any suggestions.
I do not recommend courses
I'm aspiring to be a CTA having worked in retail Pharmacy for a few years. Can you please help.
Yes shoot me an email
Same here! Should I go for CRA (it's a remote job) or CTA having worked in retail + hospital over 13 years? (I'm a pharmacist)

FiloBoi yes it is a better route, YeA it’s a higher position than cta but at some places it’s equal.

Is it easier to get promoted to CRA from CTA or CRC?
