Good mannered kids reflect the character of the parents. Welcome to the Philippines, don't mind bashers, just do what you want in the Philippines for as long as you don't hurt anybody.
Very lovely family, enjoy your stay in Philippines, have a quick look on the South side of Luzon, Tagaytay is a good start, nice view and lots of restaurants over looking Taal Volvano👍
I grew up in the Philippines. Christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays. I remember going trick or treating every Halloween but I did live in a gated community.
You're in the right area for both holidays. Halloween is more popular in the more modern, upper middle class areas of Metro Manila so you should see lots of kids in costumes trick-or-treating. As you may have seen and heard already, the Philippines puts on the biggest, liveliest, longest, most spirited Christmas celebration in the world. Although it's celebrated throughout the country, Makati and BGC tends to jazz it up to another level that you will enjoy for the next several months. By the time Christmas Eve (Noche Buena) comes, you'll have plenty of friends and you'll be "adopted" as family already and you will see you're being invited left and right to Christmas celebrations. If you can make it to Pampanga to watch the Christmas lantern festival, your kids would love that 😊🥰
Hello Wistl Fam...wonderful to hear you’re staying in the 🇵🇭 for 6 months or maybe longer. The monthly rental is a good reasonable amount. I do hope that you’ll have an amazing time here in the 🇵🇭. I pray that this Holiday season will be back to normal. It would be awesome for you all to experience the Filipinos rich tradition during Christmas mixed with Spanish influences. Have a good day 🙏

for Halloween most Filipinos visit their love ones in the Cemetery, there’s also the typical trick or treating with kids in costumes in selected areas. for Christmas and New year, it’s more festive, there’s also kids who do christmas caroling house per house, It’ll be awesome to see your kids doing caroling “the filipino way” using do it yourself instruments. Filipinos have Noche Buena (Christmas Dinner) on the 24th, where we also do exchange gift and Media Noche (New Year Midnight Dinner) on last day of December, where there’s a lot of fireworks literally everywhere. We also invite strangers and share our food to everyone during these season, there’s a chance that your subcribers or neighbors will invite you to join their dinner too. There’s also a Simbang Gabi Christmas tradition that you don’t usually see in the UK and there’s a lot of traditional filipino Christmas food that you could also try.
Wow that is a very different Christmas compared to what we are used to! You guys sound like you know how to celebrate 😅 in the UK we wouldn’t be awake at midnight eating haha - but it would be awesome to connect with our subs! 😊
That’s a really nice condo at a very reasonable cost. Glad that your family extended your stay in the Philippines. I’m really excited to watch your upcoming vlogs. I hope you all have fun even if sometimes it can be challenging. Philippines is still a developing country but with patience there is a lot to discover and enjoy. Philippines is very unique because of its various influences from the Spanish (Hispanic) culture, also some western influences as well as its own Southeast Asian culture and traditions. 👍🏼❤️
Yes we are really happy we extended and hope to have many more amazing memories in this country. We love that it’s still in development because it means we can watch the progress and that will be amazing! We’ve already heard so much about the Philippines plans to become more developed, it’s very exciting 😀
I was just about to say that I haven’t seen any ads on your videos. Then i realized, maybe i was a quick hand. I felt bad so I didn’t skip this time. good luck on your journeys Wistl Fam. :)
Yes, definitely we celebrate Halloween here but mostly it is done in malls or at some exclusive communities on the 31st of October - mostly for children or for pets though specially on costume contests and trick or treat parties. On the 1st November, most people go to the cemetery as a traditional visit to the deceased loved ones. As for Christmas, you may experience it all throughout the country. In Makati City and Quezon City, it is more festive compared with other cities. But if you would want to experience an extraordinary one, you may want to go to Pampanga for the Giant Christmas Lantern exhibits for free..as well as in Tarlac for the Nativity events. Enjoy your travels!
There are lot of subdivision in makati that are accessible in all establishments, you can try renting apartment type or a house itself. Where you can move freely and children can play outside. It just takes a lot of patience in searching but it's all worth it. You can find some over the internet, there's also a free trip if you want to visit those rental place.
Yes, it’s a great community for the children! They can play outdoors on the streets without worrying about cars passing by so much, they can play in the park, make so many friends in the same subdivision and there’d be loads of events too. But I think they’re on a budget so it might be too pricey for them. It’s usually foreign expats hired by companies who usually stay here since the company pays for it.
Yeh that sounds amazing! Eventually if our channel works out well and we can stay here long term that will be the kind of place we’d be looking at, thank you 🙏

This video is very informative. Hopefully some other foreigners who plans to visit will be able to see this. Also, 600 pesos per month for wifi is a great deal. For internet without landline, it is usually 900+ then the next I think is 1200+ and 1500+. Also, 23k for a 1br condo in makati is already fair. Though you can still get one at about 18-20k in jazz. But I think the minimum stay is at least 1 yr. So,what you got is really not bad. ❤❤❤
Great unit, amenities, and most of all great price! I'm sure that has become a game changer for you. And just looking at your countenances, you're looking a lot more relaxed in this vid. :) Anyway, want to give more recommendations of places to visit (as usual, hehe). These are all museums (some are novelty museums): Art in Island, Quezon City - biggest 3D art museum in Asia. Great to take photos in. The Dessert Museum, Pasay City - like candy land. Great for photos too. The Mind Museum, Taguig City - interactive science exhibits. National Museum of Natural History, Rizal Park - national natural history museum of the Philippines. Ayala Museum, Makati - learn about PH history through beautifully-made dioramas. They also have lots of artifacts and displays like miniature galleons, etc. I've heard someone say you're not allowed to film inside the last 2. But there's this vlogger who got extensive footage inside Ayala Museum just a few weeks ago and posted it in his channel. So i think just be discreet about filming. But you know what, even if you're not able to film inside, i think it's still worth visiting coz it's a fun way to learn about our history. (Been there 2 or 3 times.) :)
Nov. 1and 2 it's holiday in the Phil's. We celebrate thru visiting the cementary and get together with the family we prepare sweet dilicacies like suman biko
Halloween here is more of a community thing. You can wear costumes but you just can’t go to any house and expect they’d have candies and stuff to give out. Usually in subdivision and villages, they’d celebrate it and kids can go trick or treating but you have to sign up (there’s usually a program). Malls and hotels would have some sort of event for it. Some areas would have an event for it (this time for adults) and it’s best if you follow lifestyle social media pages to be updated on these things. Since you live in Makati, follow their Make It Makati accounts or those BGC pages (McKinley has a separate SM).
Hi Wistl Fam. I’m glad you guys found a place already and the same building☺️ Let them put the washing machine it’s more convenient since you guys have 3kids.🥰Your kids are very behaved ❤and so cute… congrats to your new home 🥰🌈🤍
That's good that you and your family moved to Makati which is more comfortable for you to live as Westeners. The only thing you have to consider is the Air conditioning. If you let the aircondition run 24/7 that could create a shocking monthly electric bill. Have fun in the Philippines.
Yup they celebrate Halloween, but you have to check what malls will be holding the trick or treat events. Subdivisions hold those events also. So just check where, and usually its free. Don't forget to dress up your children too. While Christmas is solemn in the Philippines, New year is a different animal, You will be surprise how much fire works go up in the sky during new year. Manila is the Best place in the world to celebrate New Year at. Period. Enjoy!
Wow that's amazing how cheap it is and also in Makati. I love your good news all the very best to your lovely family. I always watched your videos before I go to work as you are so inspirational. Here in the UK the clock will go back an hour and it's going to be dark at 4 and cold as you know...brrrrggg.. Xxx
Ahhh yes when the clocks go back it’s dark and autumnal and cozy! Definitely going to miss the cold and Christmassy feeling back home - but excited to see how the Filipinos do it! 😅🧡
Water is affordable but electricity is extremely expensive. The Philippines import most of the coal needed for energy and the monopoly of energy companies in certain areas are the reasons why, I believe. Halloween ( Western style) is only celebrated in the rich areas of Philippines like BGC and parts of Makati. Majority celebrate it by going to the tombs of their loved ones. No costumes needed. Enjoy the stay in this hospitable country.
Hello neighbors. I wish I knew you back when I went there around this time of youf vlog. Maybe this year. I work here in US and visit my unit in Makati 2x every 3 years.
You're finally eating Mang Inasal to dine in after a delivery in your TikTok account the other day. There is an original chicken Inasal that is so popular in Bacolod if you have a plan to visit soon.
@@wistlfamilyadventures how about trying Jollibee again with a twist like your daughter will eat the hotdog while your eldest son the burger steak and your youngest son the spaghetti.
That is a good rate at a great location too. I was going to comment on your last Makati video that that is a great location for you to stay esp if you don’t have your own transportation yet. You are closer to good schools, good hospitals, establishments, etc. maybe later you can look into getting an automobile which can make things much easier for you guys and you can also look into ranting at other areas farther but cheaper but still near enough to drive to. Ortigas and Mandaluyong might be good, cheaper alternatives. I’m not that familiar with QC but there are areas near hospitals and good schools too (like in New Manila and San Juan). I heard Iloilo and Bacolod city are also favored by foreigners. People there are very nice and helpful. You may want to visit or get in touch with your embassy to ask these things. I’m sure they are a treasure trove of information like where the biggest population of British expats live. Also follow pages and join Facebook groups about British or foreign expats in Philippines or M. Manila. All sorts of groups. There are those who also cater to just renting cars and drivers. Or groups to find ideas where to eat, etc.
Yeh it’s a great area to begin with - I don’t think long term living in the centre of Manila will work for us, we would love to look into a smaller city in a province perhaps, yes we have heard lots of amazing things about Bacolod and IloIlo - they both look beautiful, but yes we really need to look into groups and getting more involved with local expats for help and advice 😊
Wow just 23k in the heart of Makati? That's a bargain! My friend's renting in the QC area for 25k. Big apartment but way inferior neighborhood compared to Makati.
@@theAnxiouschristian yeh the building next door, which was a lot bigger - with a lot more amenities started at 28k but they instantly knocked it down to 25k

Glad you found your apartment; stay safe Wistl family! The water bill in Manila is inexpensive but your power bill will be a lot more, depending on your aircon usage.
Christmas is a big deal for us Filipinos.. and it already started, the ber month. Most of us do not celebrate Halloween because we celebrate all souls days Nov 1 and 2. Most Filipinos during that time are visiting the grave of their loved ones. You extended your visa for 3 months.. Enjoy and hopefully you'll have a blast x'mas here in the Phils because we know your family will, specially the kids.

One thing that you’ll like is the food not just Filipino food but different cuisines like Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Italian etc we do them well and tastes authentic. Unlike other countries that maybe just mostly stick to their own cuisine, in the Philippines esp in Manila you can find a lot. I hope you can explore and experience as much of the country during your stay there and can get acquainted with a few people as well. Looking forward to your vlogs ☺️
We don't do Halloweens, it's more of promotions of commercial establishments. The Filipino tradition is more on "All Saints & all Souls Day" it's a legal holiday all over the country. It's a religious and family thing. Filipinos/ we usually go back to the provinces , to our ancestral hometowns and pay respect to our departed loved ones. We visit their graveyards, we hear Mass and party and reunions after.
Filipinos celebrate All Saints Day (Nov-1) and All Souls Day (Nov-2) in Catholic style and similar to the Mexican Day of the Dead by visiting the cemeteries. Halloween is "celebrated" via costume parties in the malls and the cities but not so much. In December, you could be invited to attend multiple Christmas parties throughout the entire month. If you give people special food treats during Christmas, you can't go wrong but personal gift items are OK. Be sure to celebrate New Year's Eve from a high-rise location or you'll be hearing loud fire-crackers for hours.
IM happy for you. you got more cheap rent. Christmas in Philippines you can see how they celebrate, you can see Ayala triangle. and BGC mall of Asia AND Pasig and If you want cold winter weather Visit Tagaytay, close to manila
Great that you bargained for that rent coz that's very Filipino specially in our markets! That Mang Inasal look so good! Wish they will venture out here in California!
Good you have a temporary place in Ph.Cash payment preferred because still don't have the technology for online payments maybe in malls or super market card payment is ok.As we all know Ph is still a developing country.Halloween can be traditional or can be western.Traditional means people goes to church to pray for departed love ones.Bread or rice for breakfast Its fine Its very common too in the Philippines.Well... will take time for you to adjust guys. Its not easy specially you have children.

(Been there 2 or 3 times.)
:)
Hey yeh we are so much more relaxed now! And loving it here too 🥰 those are some great recommendations thank you 🙏 as always 😅
Wow 🤩 Really great apartment. I love it. Enjoy and congrats ☺️❤️
Thank you so much! 😊
So cute ❤❤❤hahaha. That’s gonna be an exciting! More power!
Thank you it is exciting! 😅🧡
Great that you are gradually settling down in manila life. Enjoy!
Thank you - yes it’s been amazing so far 😊
congratulations to your new apartment 🎉 🍾
Thank you 🙏
Nov. 1and 2 it's holiday in the Phil's. We celebrate thru visiting the cementary and get together with the family we prepare sweet dilicacies like suman biko
Thank you yes we live near a cemetery so we might be able to see 🧡
I believe you have a great deal on the rent. On my way to the previous vlog on why you picked Makati.
Thank you 🙏
Welcome to the Philippines! Watching from Australia! 🇦🇺🇵🇭 looking forward to more Philippines contents! 😍🙌😎
G’day mate! Great to have you here thank you 😊
Merry Christmas
Haha thank you!
How you organized you new place even w/o sound just a background music would be a great vlog for us😊
Haha well we will see, so far not much has changed 😅
Do daily vlogs, will surely watch every episode 😊 by the way it will be better if you live in a condo with a balcony.
We opted out of a balcony because of the kids - we wouldn’t want an accident 😅
Halloween here is more of a community thing. You can wear costumes but you just can’t go to any house and expect they’d have candies and stuff to give out. Usually in subdivision and villages, they’d celebrate it and kids can go trick or treating but you have to sign up (there’s usually a program). Malls and hotels would have some sort of event for it. Some areas would have an event for it (this time for adults) and it’s best if you follow lifestyle social media pages to be updated on these things. Since you live in Makati, follow their Make It Makati accounts or those BGC pages (McKinley has a separate SM).
Thank you - we will check out their pages! 😊
Hi Wistl Fam. I’m glad you guys found a place already and the same building☺️ Let them put the washing machine it’s more convenient since you guys have 3kids.🥰Your kids are very behaved ❤and so cute… congrats to your new home 🥰🌈🤍
Thank you so much! Maybe in the future it will be a great idea ☺️
The WiFi so cheap! that is my bill for a month. I like watching The Wistl Family. Well done guys! 👍
Thank you yes it’s a great plan!
I like you r kids so adorable, I'am Filipino I leave in Mindanao Philippines,I support your channel and big fan
Hello from Mindanao! Thank you 🙏
@@wistlfamilyadventures you're welcome ☺️
That's good that you and your family moved to Makati which is more comfortable for you to live as Westeners. The only thing you have to consider is the Air conditioning. If you let the aircondition run 24/7 that could create a shocking monthly electric bill. Have fun in the Philippines.
Luckily we don’t have it running all day everyday! We keep it to evenings and 1/2 times a day for a little to cool down the apartment 😊
The best Christmas in the Philippines more fun for 3 months
Yes we are so excited! 😊
time to relax and enjoy ❤️
Thank you yes 🙌
Yup they celebrate Halloween, but you have to check what malls will be holding the trick or treat events. Subdivisions hold those events also. So just check where, and usually its free. Don't forget to dress up your children too. While Christmas is solemn in the Philippines, New year is a different animal, You will be surprise how much fire works go up in the sky during new year. Manila is the Best place in the world to celebrate New Year at. Period. Enjoy!
Wow we can’t wait to see them! We’ve never been in a big city for new year! 🙏😊
@@wistlfamilyadventures You will be surprise! The celebration is just so different. you will see.
I will always support you ma'am and your family😍😍😍...
That’s very kind, salamat po 🙏🧡
Water is affordable but electricity is extremely expensive. The Philippines import most of the coal needed for energy and the monopoly of energy companies in certain areas are the reasons why, I believe. Halloween ( Western style) is only celebrated in the rich areas of Philippines like BGC and parts of Makati. Majority celebrate it by going to the tombs of their loved ones. No costumes needed. Enjoy the stay in this hospitable country.
Thank you so much! Yeh we will have to find out our electricity bill when it comes through - hopefully it won’t be too bad 😅
Hello neighbors. I wish I knew you back when I went there around this time of youf vlog. Maybe this year. I work here in US and visit my unit in Makati 2x every 3 years.
Next time!
wow.. nice view condo.. your kids are so oo adorable... are you living here for good? They can study here though...
We hope that we could, but we need a lot more time to make that decision first 😊
I like your place, the view is priceless. 🙏🏼👍🏼😍
Yes 1000% ! 😊
You're finally eating Mang Inasal to dine in after a delivery in your TikTok account the other day. There is an original chicken Inasal that is so popular in Bacolod if you have a plan to visit soon.
Yeh we have heard of it - hopefully we can give it a try! 😊
@@wistlfamilyadventures how about trying Jollibee again with a twist like your daughter will eat the hotdog while your eldest son the burger steak and your youngest son the spaghetti.
Im a new subsciber 😊
Thank you, welcome! 😃
Hello Wistl family You are Amazing and beautiful have a great day Stay SAFE, healthy and blessed ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much 😊
Thats a great price... More bang for your buck here 👌👍💙
Yeh it really is / we love it 🥰
That is a good rate at a great location too.
Enjoy your stay in Philippines. Christmas is a big thing the country and your kids will gonna love it.
We can’t wait - we have a lot of plans for Christmas 🎄
23,000 is a great deal..my brother have a unit for rent in makati cost 28k..that looks almost the same as yours👍
Yeh it was a really good deal - and in the future there’s room for further negotiation 😊
We do trick or treats here as well and for christmas we eat a lot :D christmas wont end until three kings.
Wow - well we do like to eat 😅
If you guys want to do some grocery i highly recommended going to The Marketplace CENTRAL SQUARE in BGC .. its like the wait rose of the Philippines😅
I know! We went once, but it’s slightly outside of our budget at the moment 😅
Can I just say that's the exchange rate now is £1 = 66 Philippine pesos. I'm glad you're settled in Makati.
Yes we know! And the pound has dropped due to recession but it still holds up against the peso unlike the US dollar. Very grateful 🙏
Wow just 23k in the heart of Makati? That's a bargain! My friend's renting in the QC area for 25k. Big apartment but way inferior neighborhood compared to Makati.
It’s a small apartment only 1 bed, and there’s 5 of us - but we make it work 😊
@@wistlfamilyadventures you can make it work. Im just surprised they have under 30k in that area. Or I might have not been aware enough of the prices.
@@theAnxiouschristian yeh the building next door, which was a lot bigger - with a lot more amenities started at 28k but they instantly knocked it down to 25k
It’s really location location location. Price would naturally be expensive per sqm in a high end place
Hello 😊new subscriber here. You have a beautiful family. I just found out your YT channel thru Trifate Lifestyle. You are very much welcome in the Philippines, Enjoy your stay and keep exploring but also stay safe. 💕
Thank you so much! We met the guys a week ago - and they are so nice! We watch their videos with the kids as they are really funny, and us brits are partial to some sarcasm 😄 thank you we love it here 🙏
@@wistlfamilyadventures Awesome. I always watch their vlogs too. I love them. 💕And now i have another favorite YT vlogger, this time an amazing family from the UK. Wishing you all the best and God bless your family more and more🙏💕
During the Halloween much of the cemeteries are packed with people that visits the past away members of the family and yes different ways and idea during this season of the year 🎃
Wow that sounds like a beautiful tradition 🙏🧡
@@wistlfamilyadventures Yes Rebecca you said it right it is a tradition that is somehow a unique way of celebration.
Glad you found your apartment; stay safe Wistl family! The water bill in Manila is inexpensive but your power bill will be a lot more, depending on your aircon usage.
Yeh we try and keep it off as long as possible - but it does get hot in our apartment quickly 😅
Yeh we can’t wait to see a Filipino Christmas ! It’s so exciting! 😄
12:38 spoted a beauty queen caliber young lady she is really adorable :-) oops be careful with electrcity, here in Phils electricity is quite xpensive ;-)
Yes we have tried to be economical with the usage of Aircon
New subscriber here. Enjoy❤
Thank you so much 😊
try Pandesal. it's a filipino style breakfast bread. very good toasted with butter and coffee.
We have! It’s delicious - but sometimes buttered toast hits the spot 😅
Get connected with the juicy Vlog they just came back in Philippines arrived a week ago from England they could show you around and if you need to know something they'll help you... They have live there for long time ✌️
Yeh we watch them a lot! Who knows maybe 😊
I hope one of this days you get to meet 8 miles from home your fellow UK vloggers they are well known here in the Philippines and living in siargao island but I heard they will spend their Christmas in their fav place there in mkati
I know! It is so cool they’ll be here at Christmas! It would be so awesome to meet up 😊
El nido and coron palawan is a must visit and boracay when travelling to islands to islands in the philippines
Yes they look amazing 🤩
Well you are the right place mam enjoy the Philippines Christmas 🎄⛄⛄🎄 God bless your family and take care
Yes we can’t wait!! 😊
Thank you yes the cuisine here is very varied 👍 we hope to keep seeing more too ☺️
We don't do Halloweens, it's more of promotions of commercial establishments.
I liked watching you everyday🥰
That’s so cool and sweet thank you po 🙏
That all sounds so amazing 🤩
Happy family ,😍
Aw thanks ☺️
You have your beautiful daughter and son😊
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you.
🙏🧡
Hi new subscriber here. Welcome to Philippines..Try to visit here in Iloilo especially during Dinagyang
Thank you - what is Dinagyang? 🧡
@@wistlfamilyadventures its the grandest festival in Iloilo City.
Great that you bargained for that rent coz that's very Filipino specially in our markets! That Mang Inasal look so good! Wish they will venture out here in California!
Yes we got a great deal! Thank you 😊
Good you have a temporary place in Ph.Cash payment preferred because still don't have the technology for online payments maybe in malls or super market card payment is ok.As we all know Ph is still a developing country.Halloween can be traditional or can be western.Traditional means people goes to church to pray for departed love ones.Bread or rice for breakfast Its fine Its very common too in the Philippines.Well... will take time for you to adjust guys. Its not easy specially you have children.
