Robin is so creative. Both John and Charles Wesley are great personalities that the Christian kingdom will always remember and thank God for using them to bless generations.
As the people below have pointed out it was John Wesley's brother Charles who was the hymn writer. John Wesley certainly contributed but not to the same extent.
@nodoubtbout No doubt about it, though John Wesley was a great hymn writer in his own right ( he translated many German hymns from such writers as Paul Gerhardt) he did not write the classics such as 'O for a thousand tongues', 'And can it be ' etc. I'm glad you think Mr Mark has great knowledge and that you are defending him. I would encourage you to buy an old Methodist Hymn book which would give scores of hymns by both Charles and John!Hopefully it will inspire you to write hymns too!
The song is OK, kinda funny (except for the idolatry of applying the word "reverend" to a man) but that is one of the most ear piercing annoying intros I have ever heard. Erase it and re-post it!

I've been to many of Robin's concerts. I have always been blessed and had fun. He's an intelligent man who sincerely loves Jesus.
Thank God for the songs of CHARLES WESLEY and the few that his brother John wrote! ;-)
I think John just showed up at Ashbury😀...how we needed it
Love love love this song
As a member of the Methodist denomination I thought this was great...seeing as John Wesley has been in heaven for a good century!! :-D
It was meant to be Charles Wesley. The story goes Robin got the names mixed up and his band never let him live it down. Wonderful song.
JOHN WESLEY HARDIN NEVER HURT AND HONEST MAN.
You are right- I was just thinking the same-he doesn't know his Church history!
Both John and Charles Wesley were song writers and ministers.
This song is awesome
Awesome? You Keep Using That Word, but I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means.

It was both John and Charles that wrote them I think ?
Are you sure you do mean Charles??? Granted, John wrote a few himself as did Samuel their father.
this is well funny!
Said Stephen from the late 19th Century...
