  • This is the beginning of many videos that will be made over my personal journey living with heart arrhythmias. If you would like for me to talk about a certain topic please let me know! I’ll be sure to answer your questions. I’ve been dealing with these arrhythmias since I was child and am hopeful that I’m getting closer to a cure. But until then I’m just trying to stay strong!

First time I had it that I remember was 7th grade then it faded away until 9th grade and so on in highschool. I got misdiagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) so I never questioned it and thought it was anxiety. It sucks because I know something is wrong I went to the ER couple days ago and finally caught it in a EKG turns out I have SVT and the thing that made my heart come back was blowing in a syringe.
This stuff sucks I’ve been dealing with this for years. Scares me because I don’t know when it will come.
I try to Avoid bending over, crazy excercise, but what sucks is the other day I literally was laying down about to sleep outta nowhere my heart jumped and I had an episode. Also if Im laying on my bed and I move back will trigger it. Also I noticed when I drank soda and ate ice cream cake that one time.
Honestly what also helps me is having faith in God just pray.

Amen having faith is a big help. I’ve been dealing with SVT for 20 years now. I’ve got my second attempt at an ablation “first time they couldn’t trigger it” coming up at the end of the month. This time they want me to be awake during the procedure in hopes they can trigger it more easily. I also switched doctors to a more experienced one. We will see! I have lived with the same issues that you point out. Not wanting to bend over to fast or run or exercise intensely. It’s definitely a burden but don’t give up. Stick with it when going to the doctors and maybe they can find a suitable solution for you!

Should have asked for a loop recorder. I wore a 24 hour, 2 week and 4 week monitor. Non of them caught much of anything. Then I got a loop recorder which caught 19 episodes of SVT over 170. The 2nd month caught 22 episodes and atrial tachycardia lasting over 4 hours. I’m pretty sure I was having all these episodes before the implant. I think the other ones aren’t that good. Hope you are able to get a successful ablation done. I hate this!

They seem to be identifying all irregular heartbeats as A-Fib. My rate jumps from 60`s to 94 and sometimes 100. But relaxing it stays around 70`s.The instructions that came with my heart finger monitor says that anything between 60 and 100 is normal. So who do you believe? My brother had the ablation and STILL has irregular beats.I won`t take thinners. I take natokinase Metropolol and baby aspirin , stay active and watch my diet.

How would you say this affects your sleep at night and what do you do to get a good night's sleep?

I wouldn’t say I affected my sleep to much, sometimes I would wake up with fast heart rate but that didn’t occur very often. And more than anything just the anxiety of the arrhythmias kept me up

Have you ever been checked for a hiatal hernia?

No I haven’t, not that I’m aware of

Funny you should ask, I’ve been wondering that it might be an SVT trigger. Supposedly with hiatal hernias you can literally push down on the stomach and ease the stomach out of where it’s beginning to protrude through the diaphragm.
