“Short nails?” Sweetie, those are medium length at least! Smh when claws are the only “long” nails. Short nails are like, violinist/guitarist/nail biter nails.
I’m curious if the base coat you used was non gel (like old school) and can I use a shellac base coat and get a similar result? Also, can you use stamping polish or gel polish instead of laquer and get a similar result?
This is really beautiful. I have trouble with decals as they look lumpy and don't lay as flat and pretty. I paint the polish as thinly as possible and try to get all the air bubbles out. I have only done it a few times though so maybe it's just a learning curve I am getting through. That knife looked scary for cleaning up the edges. Eek! It was comforting to know that it was really dull, but still I cringed. I love Copper Pot. That is one of my all time favorite Sinful Colors.
I now have a decal Matt on order... I have been using an old baking Matt, but it's to greasy even when it's washed.. So iv just brought a beauty Big Bang Matt... With there polishes.. I'm super excited to get them

So THAT'S how you do it! I've only seen vids where that's done right on the stamper. (Did you try soaking a pad with alcohol and pressing/leaving it on the purple stain for 10 minutes or so? Worked for me with Sharpie® smudges.
nailwitch87 that's so Kool, when my Matt arrives I'm going to give this a go, I have a stamping top coat and a regular born pretty fast dry glossy top coat ... I'm going to order some regular polishes now as well ... Are sinful expensive ? I'm on a budget, so everything is buy is cheaper from China off eBay, big beauty bang and now my new fav Ali express .. I'm sure I will get some polishes off there for stamping, do you recommend fast drying polishes?
So, because you're doing this from the top side in, wouldn't you put the top coat down first, then stamp, paint, and dry, then add the base coat? I'm new so I could be wrong, but it seems more logical to me.
Ali Thanks for your comment and I completely agree, and from a practical standpoint that would make sense. The reason I put the “basecoat“ down on the mat was I was trying to avoid straining ..... obviously that didn’t go very well. I also found the base coat does not perform well at making the decal soft so it sticks to the nail easily thanks so much for your comments and let me know if I explained myself correctly!😘

@@leighwelch1531 I swear by Sally Hansen's Insta Dri for both stamping and reverse stamping. They work beautifully and are highly pigmented and thick. As well, of course, they dry quickly!
Let's Talk is such a disaster for nail art! It ruined a nail art design I made last weekend when I tried using it for stamping. It had great pick up and transfer then DISSOLVED once I put on my top coat 🙈. It's such a beautiful color but oh my goodness it is a problem child of a polish for sure!

This is awesome! As much as I love nail stamping I think it’s a think of the past. Once i discovered nail foils and nail art decals the rest has been history. There’s literally a decal exactly like this stamp you just customized except with more details and wayyy less time!

PinkTigger33 Practice does make perfect when it comes to decals! The less polish you use the better! Keep trying you’ll get it

Hi i really don't get how it peels off like that? Can you not use an ordinary mat. Is it a peel off topcoat

You DID use a base coat on the nail before you applied the decal, though.
I beliiiiieve those are the plates that come with the Salon Express kit? The purple stamper that is kind of hard and awful to use ;)
