    Very Happy with this Portable BBQ.
    Each Propane Tank Made Three BBQ's, your mileage may vary.
    I washed the Main part of the unit in the Dishwasher on a quick cycle, but had to soak the grates in soapy water for a day, when using sticky sauces like honey.
    Great BBQ when you need Portability.

    Hey There, how was it for cleaning? Looks like there isn't much of a drain hole? Is it easy to wipe clean? Burgers dripping lots of fat worries me. Thanks for the review.

      The Burger Fat is No problem. Honey Mustard Is. I disconnect the base and I put the BBQ (not the plastic base) in the Dishwasher. The grates are Aluminum, so Honey gets burned on like glue and has to be soaked and scrubbed for several days. Overall, very satisfied!

    Can the regulator be removed from the end of the hose? Hooking up to an RV's quick-connect won't work unless the regulator can be removed. Many new RV's already have a regulator on the quick-connect line, and you cannot use 2 regulators at the same time. Thus unless I could remove that regulator in this grill, I wouldn't be able to hook it to the RV.

      Yes it can, see at 3:48 it has a bolt that can be loosened for removal. Best of wishes in your application!

    Will you please tell me if you found out if only one side can be used without connecting the connecter of the propane to the other side. I want to use only one side and I don't want to connect the propane connector to the other side. But I don't want to it to blow up and end dying!!

    • @silverbankruptcy
      @silverbankruptcy  2 роки тому

      As I recall, you Do Not need to connect both sides, but there are two shut off valves, so you can shut off gas supply on one side and only use the other side. Would I buy it again? I do enjoy it but it's somewhat over engineered and difficult to clean if you use sweet sauces. I put it in the dishwasher and now the igniter failed on one side. It cooks beautifully and the food is delicious, but unless you really need portability, look at the weber portable BBQ as well. Enjoy and thanks for commenting.

    Over a year after your posting, you still recommend this grill for van camping? any new pros/cons ? have you tried lining the bottom of grill with aluminum foil for faster clean up? thank you

    • @silverbankruptcy
      @silverbankruptcy  2 роки тому +2

      The problem isn't the bottom of the grill, it's the aluminum grills that cause everything to bake on and days to soak and scrub off, if you use sugar sauces.
      The grill works very well and folds up small.
      I like it but it's a little over engineered for my preference.
      The swiveling legs and the clamshell seems unnecessary for most.
      I saw weber makes a camper one that comes with a stand.
      I like this grill, but maybe another would work better and the fold up features may not be worth it.

    My igniter red plastic button broke on the 1st use and a small cast pin broke off on the push-in side button. It still works with a lighter to start but be very careful it is fragile for the amount of money spent.

    Great BBQ just needs a fold open lid/cover and a carrying case that will hold the BBQ, gas line, drip trays, utensils, etc. Loses way too much heat especially when windy. I’ll be improvising some form of portable lid. Hint, hint to the manufacturer.

    • @silverbankruptcy
      @silverbankruptcy  2 роки тому

      These are very Good Points. Its a mess after use. Also when I go upstate the Freezing weather does challenge it's ability to put out heat. It works in the freezing weather, but all that aluminum gives up the heat and it could us a lid, maybe an aluminum pan? Thats a good idea.

      @@silverbankruptcy Thanks. I used it last weekend for first time on snowmobiling trip in central area of Ontario, Canada. Temp was -15C (5 F) or so with some mild wind. It struggled at first. Worked but definitely needs a lid. Was thinking an aluminum pan or maybe even an oval stove/oven pan lid - those blue/black stone flecked ones that no one uses and throw out all the time. For rather high price of the unit to comparable marine portable BBQ's (e.g. Magma line) - the manufacturer needs to step up.

    Seems that every video about this Grill you don't see them putting burgers my guess is that's all not to put burgers on there I mean really who barbecues just hot dogs and corn and chicken, burgers are probably hard to clean up which happens with most grills

    • @silverbankruptcy
      @silverbankruptcy  23 дні тому

      See Burgers at: 27:38 I agree that its a pain to clean. I put it in the Dishwasher and that has affected the igniters but its the only way to clean it. I think its a little over engineered. I would look at other portable grills as well, like a weber.
