I so appreciate the open reflection and honesty in this Plan with Me. Thank you for putting into words, voicing and validating what so many of us feel in November and December. In a eye candy niche, your honesty and vulnerability is touching and inspiring.
Thank you SO much for letting us in on all the highs and lows of your planning journey. I know I'm not the only one who has times where planning falls by the wayside. It may feel discouraging for you, but let me just say that it's so encouraging for me to have someone so familiar with and consistent with Bullet Journaling share that, and especially to show that you can pick up your pen (or tablet) and start again the next month. I tend to want to throw my hands up and quit altogether, but this is a great reminder that even if it's not been my best week/month/year, I can start again tomorrow. Love, love, love being a part of this tribe!
Looking forward to seeing your January. I created my own planner. I have a good tip to get around one very frustrating feature in good notes. You know when you layer things and then try to move it it sometimes gets stuck to things underneath and text is never part of an image. So what I did for my insert pages I made to write on and stick on top of a planned page is I made a single slide template on keynote with a very basic blank layout of a planner page,. I use that to do any writing on sticky notes or inserts there so that the writing is bound with the image once I drag and drop it over to my good notes planner. I also put a little tab on the top of my insert to extend above all the things I have on my page under the Insert so that I can move the insert when needed without wrecking my stuff underneath, I learned this the hard way, lol. They really need to improve GoodNotes. The template is so that I can scale things to fit properly for dragging it back over to GoodNotes. How large was your planner file at the end of the year?
Dear Kara, I am overwhelmed by how much I enjoyed your video, realizing HOW MUCH I truly missed them. I took it in in small dozes, trying to allow the joy to spread as widely as I could. I really do hope you’re happy and excited, and that you’ll be back more and more and more to create this beautiful (and may I add - magical) content with love. Personally I fell off the bujo wagon for a few months now, and this output of yours made me feel the bujo flame again... :0) so Thank You for that, too. Smiles and Love, Liat.
It’s comforting to know I’m not the only November cuckoo bird! Maybe we should try putting a “do not over-schedule November” reminder on our future logs for 2019? LOL Thanks for sharing your challenges and all the inspiration!
Same! November was crazy because it’s the Autumn season here so I travel all the time. It’s been consistent since I moved here. I miss your analog bujo, glad you’re still using it 🥰
So much inspiration in this video! I'm glad you're doing more analog again. I'm trying to just go to the bare basics of bullet journaling and am really finding it helpful.
Can't wait to see your tips for ZoomNotes. Still trying to see if I want to make the switch. Thank you for sharing this, and for the reminder that sometimes things happen, and we just have to simplify things to build up habits again.
Thank you for the December update! I love your 2018 Year End Review setup and you have inspired me to start mine sooner rather than later. I had a similar crazy November which brought an early end to my 30 Days Better page as well. My 2019 mantra will be to stop overbooking!
Thanks for fitting in the time to do the plan with me. I’m a bit like you with needing to paper plan so you have given me a great idea for December. :) Keep up the good work!
Can you please separate analog from digital videos into district episodes? It really helps with content overload. Keep up the good work! All Best, Emily
I really enjoyed your Hobonichi business journal you set up last year and was REALLY hoping you were going to do something similar this year, but love the fact that your going back to pen paper.
November was absolutely bananas on my end as well! Glad you made it through. I really hope that any pressure you feel from sharing your planning process online all the time doesn't overwhelm you. I can't imagine doing the same; people can be so judgmental online even if they're not being malicious. I'm grateful that you spend the time to show us how you organize your life, but I'd hate to think there's any guilt attached to doing what you have to do (not planning, not sharing, etc.) to get through a wild month. Anyway this comment got away from me but I hope December gives you a chance to relax a little bit.
you're too hard on yourself for not keeping up with your bullet journal consistently. but I actually think it was a time for you in which, by not thinking about it, you cleared up some things. I feel like your realisation of your analogue planning having to be more functional and digital planning being your artistic outlet came in a very organic way to you, because you weren't so concentrated on planning. it just happened. and now you know that. I hope this note isn't too abstract. it's not important, anyway. thank you for sharing all this with us! have a wonderful month of December! :)
Looking forward to the 2019 video! It just so happens that Dec is the last month that will fit in my current notebook, so I will be starting fresh in 2019. I will hopefully be doing my student teaching starting in January, so planning is going to be extremely important.
I love that you use a similar aesthetic digitally and on paper. It allows us paper people to still be inspired by the digital spreads :) I tried that cleaning schedule for my very first one, at the beginning of 2018. The main issue I had was that I didn't feel comfortable coloring in the square if I didn't complete the whole list. So then I felt a bit defeated. But I suppose I should have just completed the whole list. Ha!
This format was really nice :) Haven't watched in a while (stayed analog and only recently started playing with digital). I like the portability of digital, but I think my brain overall likes pen and paper more. Still, seeing ideas for both formats in one video is great! :)
I’m the same in daily planning. I’m lost if I haven’t map it out night before. I include important and fun things like project X phone call and evening hot choco - balance :)
It's so good to just hear your voice again! I've missed your videos! And btw, I did not win NaNoWriMo as well... other things just had higher priority...
Just wondering if you have tutorials on using your digital planner on Windows and android devices yet? I purchased the planner believing that there would be tutorials coming very soon. Its not easy or intuitive to set up in Xodo and some help would be greatly appreciated.
I remember a video of you explaining an planner app. You'd fill in the big tasks and the steps to get it done. And you could fill in if this was weekly and everything... does anyone remember the video or the app. I like to try it but still haven't found it.. Thanks in advance!!
Maybe I misunderstood you and what the purpose of having both digital and analog planners, but couldn't one reason that you have a hard time filling your spreads out and being consistent with your journal be because you basically need to do everything twice? Like two monthly pages, two weeklies etc. To me, the best part of having a bullet journal is to have everything at the same place and when I don't, I feel split. It's just a thought, but maybe it would be good to do a very clear distinction between the two and what you keep where? Great video anyway and happy holidays :)
Thanks for that! I'm definitely drawing a harder line between what goes where... as I said in the video, my digital planner is more for creativity and decoration now, whereas my day to day planning is in my Bullet Journal. I'm still working to find that balance but there's definitely a lot of truth to what you're saying about separation 😊
Hope this question isn't silly! How do you stay organized and on top of things with multiple planners? I see a lot of planner content creators using multiple planners and wonder how they keep it all together.
I am fairly new to all the digital journaling. Maybe somebody could just answer this but, what is the reason for designing in ProCreate and then copying to Goodnotes.
I loved zoomnotes to start with but it always glitches and my work always somehow disappears. I ended up going back to goodnotes because zoomnotes is terrible. And u can not import your planner from goodnotes to zoomnotes the links will not work so u have to start from scratch
So are you copying your calendar and editing it all in procreate and bringing it back? I feel like i'm always going back and forth trying to edit stickers and stuff in good notes.
Do you have resolution issues when you copy layouts over from Procreate into GoodNotes? I tried setting up some stuff in Procreate, but once I moved it over the drop in resolution bothered me so much that I redid it in GoodNotes!
Your canvas size in Procreate will have a big impact on the resolution once you bring it into GoodNotes. Try playing around with larger canvases and see if that helps. :)
Hold the phone. When you opened Goodnotes I saw the AT symbol. Are you going to hike it or section hike some of it next year?? I just got way more excited than I should be. 🤣
Thats so awesome! Im also currently saving up to thru-hike it. Aiming for March 2021. 🤞🏻Will you be posting any updates for the AT on UA-cam or Instagram?
Yes! I'm actually going to be vlogging the trail, and I'll have a separate channel for those vlogs. I'll keep you all posted when I upload my first video there :)
@@Bohoberryshop I am so excited for you!! I did some work on the AT when I lived up in Maine. Definitely start early down here in GA for the thru-hike. You don't want to get caught up in the White Mts or ME Mts too late! March should be enough. So excited!!

The Last Kingdom Series is awesome, and I've got the book series that the show is based off of in my "To Read" list!

Are you going to be using a Hobonici Cousin in 2019? I got my first one and I LOVE it so far even thought I'm really mostly still in the set-up stage.
I would love an update on how the business planner/hobonichi worked out too. I’ve watched that video so many times.
So you have a digital fitness planner. I have a happy planner and would love it to be like this digital please let me know.
I am fairly new to all the digital journaling. Maybe somebody could just answer this but, what is the reason for designing in ProCreate and then copying to Goodnotes.
It helps with how Goodnotes can load a page as loading 1 image is a lot faster apposed to loading multiple images, writing and highlighting.
Is that a sicker for your white bullet journal?
since you are beta testing. What I'd like to see is being able to blend colours when colouring something in.
YEA! ZoomNotes!
Does someone know an app to use for a digital bullet journal on my Microsoft tablet ? 😊
I loved zoomnotes to start with but it always glitches and my work always somehow disappears. I ended up going back to goodnotes because zoomnotes is terrible. And u can not import your planner from goodnotes to zoomnotes the links will not work so u have to start from scratch

Yes, I am. Once I move into my dated 2019 planner in ZoomNotes, I might be changing that process up a bit. I'll keep you posted!
Add 'Outlander' to your 'Shows' list!
I love Outlander! I've read all of the books and I'm all caught up on the show too :)
Are you going to sell digital planners for 2019? I hope you do 👌

can you add links to images in zoom?
On your NaNoWriMo page your photo has a paper crown rather than an angel halo. What's the difference?
