I think it's pretty cool that anyone can relate to this song... I was born as a girl but I've always been insecure about my feminine traits and don't feel very pretty. Sometimes I feel it was better if I was born a boy since I have more boyish traits, but I've come to like being a girl.
I was crying for many hours after I realized what this song was from the Japanese comments in the original video. I had no idea that harumaki was like that and felt so. Somehow a different meaning comes out of each and every one song of his. I had realized that there are literally no men in any of the songs, not even as back ground characters, nor in the artworks either.. I find it sad that society? Family even? Brings people to feel so disgusted by their own skin. It's scary. As a woman I used to feel it would had been better to be a man etc. Lately I made a new friend who says women are privileged. I learned sides of how men look at us like that, and he's quite sensitive. Both genders end up feeling foreign or hate themselves, how things are, how people judge things should be. Things are simple when you're children... We don't think about genders and differences between friends that much, or put lebels. I am still quite shocked over harumaki and don't know what to do. It's a person that carried me so strongly for more than 3 years. I hope he finds peace in himself even if he can't be a pretty girl. There's trully so much to say... Thank you for the video. I'll hold my tears
Very well said! Permit me to add that, even if he can't be a pretty girl, the stories and people he crafted with such thoughtfulness and care are undeniably beautiful works of art, a reminder of who we and our fellow humans are under the seemingly endless chaos of higher matters. He's added so much beauty to this world in his own way, and has inspired and touched the hearts of thousands upon thousands of people across the globe. This is not to deny his feelings, and I apologize if it came across as such; I simply wanted to say that I think, and I believe many others would agree, that he is - to put it bluntly - pretty. I would also like to add my admiration for his courage for saying so. The world is sometimes full of stubborn people entrenched in their views, and I'm very glad he found others who understand or have similar experiences. I hope he understands that he's not alone. Like (if I understand it correctly) Mikage - she tried to put on her best face for Spica, when who she really wanted was Mikage as she was. If I may go on a bit of a personal tangent, I admit sometimes I have wondered what it would feel like to wear a skirt, to have long hair to style differently, to be able to sing along to songs decently, to hug friends.. it's not that I think being a girl is all-around better (as I understand it there are a multitude of things that boys don't have to deal with), but I guess I think it might've fit me a bit better if it were that way from the beginning. I have cried from some of Harumaki Gohan's creations, of the story and subtlety of his storytelling, "unmanly" though it may be to do so, but it felt good to cry for the beauty of something rather than feel anger and bitterness as to why I can't be the way I should be. I must thank him for that. ah, I'm rambling Well, thank you kind internet stranger(s) for reading my essay of a reply and farewell, internet traveler, and a good day (or night) to you! omg I'm totally gonna cringe at myself aren't I lol
@@Stellead i assume you're a man then? I'm honestly so happy to hear that harumaki has brought love inside you... I think he's a beautiful soul. His imagination it beautiful, his love is beautiful, his voice... Is beautiful... It's the voice of emotion, the voice of a hurt individual who wishes to tell a story. It's all these collective feelings that he has showed us through his works that make me constantly fall in love with him. It doesn't matter if you're a guy, my friend. You can be beautiful, you can be loved. I hope everyone can accept themselves. I hope you can love your reality and yourself, and this way love others too. There's ways to highlight yourself and personality without being a woman! @@makimarihimi2169 Thank you for your incredibly kind words (and also for not laughing at me)! I understand that I may have come across as rather childish. I've always cared perhaps a bit too much about what other people think.. your words really mean a lot to me, and I'll try to keep them in mind! Confidence really is key... Misery? I guess people could interpret it like that - Futari No did overall have a bittersweet ending - but I never thought of it like that.. to me, that album was more about the two, the incredible friendship they shared, and how they would do anything for each other. Envy Phantom was about Mikage pushing past her doubts and habits to convey her love for her friends. They're realistic, yes, but that aspect certainly doesn't exist to create a sense of misery like in some other works of fiction, and instead the sadder parts serve to enhance sense of the precious love (platonic or romantic) they have for each other (gahhh I feel kind of cheesy saying that!!). Oh my gosh, I so agree though! The art in his stories are so fascinating, painting pictures of worlds realistic enough to be familiar but otherwise kind of otherworldly (in a good way) and honestly quite intriguing to think about (how does the Blue Planet manage to bring both "quaint rural place" and "bustling professional city" to mind??), and the songs he's created manage to evoke emotions far deeper than the often used adrenaline and rage. Even when some of them, like If I Could Become a Comet, was kind of sad, they somehow felt like it came from a place of love (for her friend, Lili, in this case). Overall they're also nice in a kind of reflective sense, if that, like, makes sense? Also maybe an unpopular opinion but I like his self-covered versions better than the vocaloid versions.. they're not bad, but I just think his voice somehow fits better (and I forgot if I said this before but he has such a nice voice!!!). ..I just made myself cry by listening to The Promise again, and on that note I'll think I'll wrap up this comment. Have a great day (or night)!

2:33 THIS SCENE FOR THAT LYRIC WAS SO SMART IM LOSING MY MIND this was so good
A 3 hour long analysis video could be made about why this hits so hard and why every meticulously placed shot couldn't have been chosen better.
What makes it more insane is she decided to make this on a whim.
She’s not human
brain full of harumaki gohan songs, this needed to happen
