I have 2 hives of Russians they are very well behaved they don't bother anyone , I have mowed in front of the hives and they don't come after me. I can walk right up to the hives with no gear on and again no issues. But they sure get upset when you get in to the hive and dig down to the brood chamber and start messing around with the frames.
