Yea, the editing did Alyssa NO favors. They were making her out to be thinking that all her dud attempts at "jokes" were the funniest things ever. I am glad, though, that she was able to find the right way to get her comedy chops in order.

I’ve always suspected that the mic feedback was added later.
I’m really happy she came into her comedy chops. Her All Stars snatch game, comedy challenges, roasts etc had me in stitches. I love watching her improve over the years because it really exemplifies that drag takes skill, training, and talent!

Same. I always hated santino since project runway. But I like Carson and Ross.
He was brought on early and had a reputation for being bitchy and over-accessorizing his designs. Remember, Drag Race was considered Indie and wasn't expected to become the institution it is today, so the first seasons were lucky to get judges with any name at all. I mean, had you ever heard of Merle Ginsburg? So in a way, it shows a lot of friendly loyalty to have kept him for as long as they did.
Andrew MacLaine I was just realizing this last night. I’m watching season 2 for the first time (bc i thought the oldest seasons wouldn’t be that great but I’m realizing some of my faves got their start on that season) and I realized I never knew who Merle is and I can’t help but just think Santino is undressing the queens with his eyes the whole time :/
I'm rewatching old seasons and i don't mind Santino at all. Tbh the "funny puns" overload in newer seasons is getting on my nerves sometimes and Santino didn't try as hard as Carson/Ross sometimes do (tho i respect them both)

It was the delivery that was off
While a roast can be crass and harsh most of the time it's followed up with a humorous approach. The problem with Alyssa's set was that she just said a lot of things that sounded mean without following with humour or a punch line. Farrah Moan had that problem on the Michelle Visage roast as well.

Coco’s set was actually so good, followed by Jinkx. I was crying of laughter the enter time
Coco was really smart to come up with a character. She knew that comedy was not normally one of her strengths, so she found a way to be more comfortable with it. For me, it was the highlight of her run because we knew she was stylish and a great dancer, but this really showed her versatility.
