First american forward swept wing aircraft ever

The end of the Second world War marked also the beginning of the Cold War in which the rivalry of the two great winners will be marked by the arm race which was fueled by the technologies captured from the Germans which were experimenting many new concepts that were as revolutionary as mind-blowing. Among these was the forward swept wings that grabbed the attention of the newly founded Convair engineers which was trying to respond to the demand of the US Air Force for a new jet powered attack aircraft. This led to the atypically shaped XB-53 project which did not passed the drawing board stage even if it was a promising plane.
