This is actually genius the shoes is actually good for all disabled people that can't put on their shoes by themselves.
Props to Nike by doing this innovation
You're right, but sadly it was a side effect. No one was thinking about disable people
@@furTron actually Nike has been thinking about individuals with disabilities for a little over 8 years now. A young man with cerebral palsy wrote out to Nike to ask them if they could design a shoe for people with disabilities like himself. His name was Matthew Walter if you would like to look into yourself, he actually had a little role to play in the color design and structure (not the mechanism itself).
It’s just disappointing that it took them 8 years to do so, making it seem that it wasn’t the highest priority
The only problem is with people accidentally step on the heel and make you trip over, making you disabled or more disabled
@@Babyblast3r Yes, I read the journey about FlyEase and it was also inspired by Matthew Walzer who was 16 years old. He has a cerebral palsy and had a problem to tie his shoes. He's been working/collaborating with Nike to design several of FlyEase family.
This is perfect for my 91 y/o grandfather who can't bend over easily to put on his shoes. Please make one in all black so that people who have difficulty (physically) doing simple tasks like that, could have an everyday shoe!
There is an all black colourway with a Little Red on the hinges part
Good luck buying a pair Corie, Nike notoriously only manufactures 12 pairs of popular new shoes. So you'll never get a pair unless you go on stockx and pay $800.
It’s coming 19/3 only for 120$
Imagine thinking Nike is only making 12 pairs of shoes that were specifically designed to help people 😂
This is not one of those times.
This is actually the greatest shoe design ever. Forget self lacing sneakers, forget laces entirely. This is the shoe of the future
Lmao you trippen
Adapts are sickk
The Nike Adapt team is all fired
@The Thirsty agreed. I was supposed to point that out. One of the functions of a shoe is to protect your feet from getting wet or dirt. So that defeats it's purpose.
Nike aqua rift
i take off my shoes at work underneath my desk... but it's a pain in the ass to put them back on. this is perfect
Longtime disabled, newly post-op surgery with more to come. I cannot wait for this to be an option open to the public. I live in Minnetonka moccasins and Allbirds slippers, but have to put on some Pegasus or React Visions for physical therapy, and what a literal pain.
WHAT ARE THOSE!!!!!!!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I could really use this. I can't reach my feet easily due to spinal injury, so it can be a long and painful process to lace up my shoes every day.
This shoe is going to be LEGENDARY
This is so amazing for people with disabilities. My Mom who lost the use of an arm after a stroke would really like this design idea.
My kid has dyspraxia. It messes with his motor skills so tying his shoe laces has always been a battle. We’ve been waiting 16 years for something like this ❤️ Super excited!
I'm really amazed by all the engineering behind it
A shoe for your daily activity, I love it
Pushing the limit in what defines a “sneaker”. Well done Nike team
This design is absolutely genius 👏 🙌
That amazing
I love watching the process
Kudos to the team
Absolutely Brilliant!!! Congratulations Nike!!! Form, function, brilliance all wrapped into one. No germs putting these bad boys on!!!
So dope!! A utility version for health workers would be great!!!
And one for office workers!!
OOOOOOOh yeah
I'VE BEEN WAITING MY WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS...!!!!
Thanks for making this video and for sharing publicly - I showed this to my students today, who are doing an Design Sprint. I loved how Haley's "always design for the most extreme cases" is rooted in Empathy. It's a brilliant video - you tell us the problem, the current solution, show your prototype - and then convince us that it's the best!
Your class sounds like BS buzzword bingo. Design Thinking was created by white guys (creative reaction labs workshop)
@@samsizzle89 lol I never heard any of my classes called that, you should come along and you'd see it's not BS Buzzword Bingo! But you definitely made me laugh, great alliteration that I think I'll use again. :)
Great Design,Cant wait to give it a try.Keep up the good work Nike
So looking forward to getting a pair of these!
Great piece of innovation and design work from the designers 👏
Its so crazy! So simple, elegant! Its genius!
Genius!!!! Great job!
Love it, had this idea for years, but didn't think of the rubber band stretch, I was thinking of a click ( I was a kid playing with leogos bionicle at that time)
It’s beautiful!!!! Can’t wait to purchase
Love it!!!
Incredible job, great problem statement by Tim
Oh my god these are badass! Love this sooooo much! All of my sneakers have busted backs and this would totally solve the problem of having to get in and out of them quickly.
Los quiero ya !!!
I’m so ready to grab a pair. Looks dope as hell
I'll def be getting a pair
So cool, well done.
incredible
Yee yee great upload team
Can't wait to get a pair look amazing
Amazing
Me encantaron
I need these in my life!
Brilliant!
Great innovation. Congrats.
Aside from helping people with challenges this would probably sell like crazy in countries like Japan and South Korea where people remove their shoes before going into their living rooms or inside restaurants. Nicely done Nike!
I work in a high school - I loved seeing the page of math equations. Nice for non-STEM teens to see an application of mathematics that may interest them.
I NEED a pair of those!!
awesome👌👀
Genious! I have to buy them 😍
this is actually a brilliant idea... most people have a hard time to get down and lace the shoes.. not to mention that some people do not want to spend time lacing .. hope they are comfortable like react midsole
Great idea !
This is science, I would take a pair. definitely
yes, yes a thousand times yes. I usually don't go out of my way to buy shoes (unless they're wearing out), but if this comes to market these are an instant buy for me, it'll help Autistic people like myself immensely. Thank you for these, I look forward to the updates on this concept :)
What difficulties with putting on normal shoes have you encountered?
How do you struggle with putting on a shoe? Don’t wanna be rude just curious
The face expressions on the models are killing me.
this s soooo kewl
Best shoes everrrrr ❤❤❤❤❤
Since I don't have $45,000 to buy a pair of Nike MAG Back to the Future (2016) from StockX I might as well buy these!
NIKE Genius!!! It's BOMB!
One week gimmick
yes please. That design perfectly matches my need
Los quiero ya
I'm excited for the future of laceless shoes :) this is gonna change the footwear industry
It took us like 5k years to finally remove the shoelaces
i mean shoes without shoelaces have been around now but yeah, cool ig
tf bro havent u seen loafer shoes schmuck
@@daddyelon4577 at the end is the same thing
@Destroyer of Worlds omfg lol
A must. Nike did it again
A great way to make life one step closer to becoming lazier but non the less a great design and really beneficial for older people
Vous êtes des génies Nike ✌️
nice!
YEEZY
Nice
Want want want!!!
I want these shoes! I hope the prices go down a bit and they make more. These would also be pretty great for people who have difficulty with getting in and out of shoes. Obviously not gonna pay 200 dollars or more, but if these go a bit more affordable, I would absolutely pick a pair up.
Nice, more colors.
1:26 -- make that. That looks awesome.
This is finally the step to the ultra-cool self-lacing and auto-conforming sneakers in Back to the Future. Wonder about the sizing to get for someone with AFO - wider all around never fits with the foot length.
Thanks Jimmy....
❤️❤️
Very cool. Would love to pick up a pair when the general release happens. My concerns: durability of the portion of the outsole that creases when the shoe is bent. How many times can it be folded before the material starts to split or breaks? How long before the tension band starts to permanently stretch? Great idea though. Looking forward to trying them on.
I'm certain they considered this given the footage of a robot bending it back and forth. I expect they calculated the number of times in a year or two someone might put in the shoe and have picked material that exceeded that.
well every conventional shoe has a flex point (usually at the widest part of your foot), that folds with every step, so in a way this area has to endure much more stress. And since this doesn't pose a problem really I wouldn't expect it to be a problem with this particular Nike shoe either.
prayed for this design since 10)
Lmaoo
Great for elderly, TSA checks etc. I need these.
I need them
wow
I came up with an idea like this in middle school that was early 2000. What's really mind-blowing is how do you even pitch or get Nike to even look at an idea? How do you even find the materials or the someone who can craft a shoe to even show them?
that black one is form AND function
props to nike
Именно за смелые разработки, люблю Nike.
Genius..
This is awesome!! Great for Dads who have a big tummy and having a hard time bending to put on their shoes lol!
I would definitely buy these over Balenciaga or Yezzy or Dior Jordans, at least I see where all the money is going to. Just be careful with the elastic band. If it tears, the shoe is dead.
Shoemakers are rubbing their hands like Birdman right now.
Love these shoes, been wearing them for years, and now getting hard to find. @Nike when you dropping a fresh batch???
Nifty idea but I have questions. How good is the tread for slippery surfaces? What kind of lifespan does the tread have? With that bend in the middle, how good is the arch support? Will there be a way to adjust the fit for high arches or wider feet? How much slippage is there with that piece in the back, enough to cause blisters during longer walks? Is the toe box wide enough to allow for a firm use of the toes for grip and stability?
best shoe
the best ones I hope I can try them they are beautiful I hope I can try them, let's support Nike, Nike will undoubtedly be the best brand. I take this shoe.
I F with it
Me gusta el colores
I want them.
The idea looks really cool! Wonder how fit they stay while working out. Also how long that band will hold its compression strength
I got these for my senior mom who just had hip surgery, she was having a hard time putting on her shoes.
This is the closest to a Dart Sock. I love the Dart Sock, own 4 pairs. Im definitely considering getting a pair of Go Flyease.
This is real inclusion. Thanks to everyone involved in this project. I hope I can get a pair or two.
Genius! Can't wait to get a pair
This has the same energy as a person who liked crocs before they were an ironic statement.
Nice video I like it is high tech except voried if lace is gonna hold pressure run play basketball or tenis !
When are you guys gonna put it back on the market though?
I'm in love with the overreat shadowberry. Can Nike please stock it on the South African website. We only have one style and sizes are always an issue. I'm a uk10 / us11
