Modern-Hungary is awesome and I'm proud to call it our neighbor! (Romanian here) We just have to wait out this awkward Orban period and then we can all party.
Bulgarian here. I am watching the statistics and I cry. We had great military power, better imports - exports of goods, larger population and so on... But everything is past tense the country is dying because of poor decisions in the past, ongoing corruption and lack of unity. I am very proud to be one of the last Bulgarians and part of this old great nation and its history. I still and will strive to the very end for a better future. All the best to the Balkan nations.

As a Romanian I love all of our neighbors, I have been many times to Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and Moldova, however I've never managed to go to Ukraine.
I say the same for all our neighbors, may God bless us all. :)
The only neighbour I like is Serbia as they have never attacked us and we have always helped eachother. Ukraine stole our territories, Hungarians are whinning bitches who always complain about the land they lost. Bulgarians are strange and Moldova (basserabia) is Romania

From a Romanian citizen at least on our justice system we see some results, from some time:
- 36 ministers sentenced to jail for corruption
- 2 prime ministers sentenced to jail
- 3 MEPS sentenced to jail
Now i`m curious on our neighbouring countries, if they have these results? :)

My English teacher JJ is from Romania, she was born in Bucharest, and immigrated to England along with her parents.
My first academic paper was dealt by an editor from Romania, and of course, it was accepted and published.
The football club in my hometown called Jiangsu Suning, the coach Dan Petrescu bring us the first champion. Then, Cosmin Olaroiu bring us the second champion.
For the two champion cups, I will admire Romania forever!!!!!!!!!!
Now, I am doing some research about urban expansion, I also selected Bucharest as my research area. I promise that I will have a journey in Romania!

splendidly equipped with German weapons - went on a veritable war of
conquest at the cost of Russia.
1941-1943: APPROXIMATE AREA FROM RUSSIA
This time, Roumania grew in size thanks to Hitler!
Yet on August 23rd, 1944, Roumania suddenly changed sides again and
began shooting down her German allies without any warning.
Even before Germany’s war on Russia, Roumania embarked upon the
FINAL SOLUTION regarding her several hundred thousand Jews many of
whom had declared themselves as Hungarians. As my source of information I
use the work: Genocide and Ethnocide of the Jews and Hungarians in
Roumania which bases itself on Hannah Arendt's well-researched book:
Eichmann in Jerusalem: A repon on the banalitv of evil in which reference is
made to Raul Hilberg's large book: The destruction of the European Jews.
In the summer of 1941, Roumanian units - and here I quote:
"...embarked upon a program of massacres and deportations that even
'dwarfed the Bucharest outburst of the Iron Guard', in January of the same
year, a program that for sheer horror is unparallel^ in the whole atrocitystricken record."... "In the middle of August [1941], by which time the
Roumanians had killed close to 300,000 of their Jews, mostly without any
German help, the [German] Foreign Office concluded an agreement with
[virtual dictator] Antonescu 'for the evacuation of the Jews from Roumania, to
be carried out by German units'."
Yet Roumania finished WW II practically on the side of the victors!
And the systematic thinning out of the ethnic Hungarians and Germans in
Roumania began in the autumn of 1944. During September and October of
that year, Roumanian Maniu-guandist - some say bandits - returning to
northern Transylvania, which in 1940 had been reunited with Hungary,
massacred many thousands of Hungarian civilians.
In the building of the enormous Black Sea - Danube Canal, several
hundred thousand people are estimated to have been forced to work under
inhuman conditions. Of these, some 70% were Hungarian slave laborers. In
the death-camps along the canal, some 40,000 Hungarian men, women and
children perished.
Dossier 247U of the MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENCE (Bucharest,
Basement, Room 42) shows this:

Apart from such mass destruction of Hungarian and other lives, thousands
of documented or veiled cases of individual beatings, psychiatric and other
torture, Roum anian-style incarcerations and so-called "accidental deaths"
occurr^ mainly of Hungarian teachers, clergvmen. doctors, actors, writers
and so on.
To make matters worse, the following general, but officially denied,
measures against ethnic minorities have been carried through in Roumania:
1) Almost complete elimination of Hungarian and other ethnic educational institutions.
2) Suppression of Hungarian and other minority languages.
3) Falsification of historical data and population statistics.
4) Confiscation of cultural archives, even of church registers.
5) Obstruction of contacts with relatives abroad.
6) Dissolution of Hungarian and other ethnic communities under the guise
of industrial resettlement.
Now, such measures surely amount to the crime of CULTURAL
GENOCIDE as laid down in UN Document E/447, 1948, of the United
Nations Ad Hoc Committee on Genocide.
Roumania, however has stated many times that she has no national
minorities problem

Our countries are very small and one country can not succed alone if the economy of its neighbours will not develop as well. We rely too much on trade with each other, so as a romanian, I wish Bulgaria ans Hungary to develop as much as possible because only than the economy of Romania will increase as well. Mate, you are right. Imagine if Hungary will not have the proper infrastructure Romania doesn't have for the moment no investor will build anything in Romania by the border with Hungary. The Ministry of Hungary expressed so so many times that Romania's prosperity as a country means so much to Hungary. Sure enough, no media will show the positive attitude of the Hungarian gov. towards Romania cause it doesn't serve the interest of the moguls. The Romanian experience when they came to Hungary and see that all that the media promote is nowhere to be seen.

@@edwardanusievici1791 There was not a single "romanian" (real name: vlach) in Transsylvania before 1300 A.D. Vlach peasansts infiltrated into the Hungarian Kingdom, East Hungary, fleeing from the Ottoman Empire, searching for better a life. And after 300-400 years, the vlachs outnumbered the hungarians, because vlach women gave bitrth to 5-6-7 children, while hungarian women about 2 children. The other was that hungarians made heavy fights against the turks, while the vlachs didn't really take part in that.
As a romanian, from my limited understanding of history, I think we provoked and threaten Hungary much more often than they did it to us. I am talking about recent history, from WWII until now. That doesn't mean Hungary would not take the chance to take some territories, but I doubt it. The regular hungarians that I've meet were friendly and we had much more in common than differeneces. Also, both in Hungary and Romania where they live togheter, romanians and hungarians get along just fine. It's the rest of the people from these two countries that seem to "hate" each other, based on something that happened long ago.
That been said, I love and respect anybody that is decent. Despite our differences we suffered a lot togheter in Eastern Europe and our pain brings us closer than our wars from 100 years ago. All the best for Hungary and Bulgaria, I hope our time will come and it will find us as brothers.

It's one thing i always check when travelling and especially living as an expat.
Sadly, most wester countries such as Germany, US, Switzerland really disappointed me with their prices and speed.
At the same time, Balkan countries have great net connection and incredibly good prices (5-10 Euros per month for Fiberlink and up to 8 Gbps download / upload)
Well Romania is on the top of that list in Europe since ever and up high ranking worldwide also. Spain had 50Mbps (50€/month) while Romania already had 1Gbps (13€/month. Now it's as low as 5€/month)
As a romanian I love Italy ❤🇮🇹 and I respect 🤝🏻Hungary 🇭🇺and Bulgary 🇧🇬

Years before Hungary was compared with Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. but those countries have become much more developed since then, thanks to the Orbán government.
Many Bulgarians dream of a leaders as yours. Our leaders just follow orders and very often against interests of the country.

Don't be fooled by figures. Speak to people from those countries and you'll realise it's not that perfect as you might think. Transylvania was a separate state until 1868 (voivodeship, principality, grand principality) with its own leaders (voivode, prince, governor) and parliament (Diet). After 1526, after Mohacs, Hungary disappeared from the map for 150 years. Transylvania does not. Conclusion: Transylvania was part of Hungary for 50 years. Things that can be proven with documents not with Grimm brothers stories.

Romanian has so many food speciality take from Turkish, Bulgarian, and Serbian and also from Russia so that shows how mixt all of us in Europe are. All that it is because of oil, sure enough, the media does not talk about it. Before yesterday it leaked out a meeting Zelensky had with the Americans and he wanted to damage the Frienship 2 oil pipe where Hungary and Slovakia are getting oil thru but the Americans were not so excited about the idea. So all in all Mol the Hungarian state oil company refines oil in Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia ( yes many don't know that but for a small country with no oil it is impressive ). So all that is about money, that is the reason why Germany, Austria, and France are also like in between. All the best :)

Not so eccentric! Romanians and Bulgarians share cultural similarities (mostly old pagan celebrations that have made it into modern day). With Hungary we share a ton of history. We are not so different, even if we have our own identity.

I died a little inside when I saw that, in the capitals section, behind the Athenaeum cartoon in Bucharest is a cartoony National Library. That horrid monstrosity is an insult to the money spent and the plot of land it occupies. The video creator should have stuck the old Central University Library or one of the Churches (the Stavropoleos Church or the Patriarchal Church) there. Even the Palace of Parliament would have been better.
