So glad to see you guys still making way. Another great video Rev and nice scheduling Captain. We wondered what the frames for the subs were when we passed them so thank you for letting us know. Glad you were able to fix the alternators and have everything back to full power. Thanks again for bringing us along. Smooth travels!!
Shocking to hear all that you have been through lately. I am sure the great state of Texas hates to loose you and now the search is on for new ground. At this point in life do as you wish and enjoy the ride. Envied by lots of fans. Good luck and we will be watching whatever you do.
When I was in the Navy I was on a Nimitz class carrier. Degaussing was used to change or correct the magnetic field of the vessel. Each ship has a unique magnetic field like a fingerprint so they try to hide that fingerprint.
Great video! I would love to see you add in to your videos showing us actual docking as you communicate with each other. Whether or not someone helps you when you dock, like a dock hand. Keep up the great videos, look forward to the next one.
Thanks Steve. We intend to do this at some point. We have a new GoPro, so are going to try to capture a docking and all that goes on. Each one is a little different!
Fun to see King's Bay. I was stationed there for 10+ years. SSBN740 and SSBN743. Nice unclassified degaussing description. Former Submarine Sailor Current Robotics Instructor
Fort Clinch State Park (Florida). And yes, the base you are looking at is Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base (Georgia). You're right, there are nuclear weapons on that base. They are pretty touchy about where people go near there. I'm sort of a local and I used to give people airplane rides in that neighborhood.
Just curious, since MY has delayed opening its canal system until July 4th and has a staggered schedule for a lot of locks--how is this going to effect your doing the loop?
Joseph, they are on their last few legs of the Loop. They started last year (May??) in the VA area. But to answer your general question, the closing of the NY canals, the Il River locks, Covid, 2020 has been a rough year for Loopers. Some are postponing things a year, some are attempting a late Fall on the IL river. As the IL locks are closing July 4 until October or longer.
The degausser basically removes any magnetic interference. I'm thinking it helps the subs from being tracked while underwater (way above my understanding to give a better answer). Our ballistic nuclear missile subs (roughly 100 nuclear warheads per sub) operate out of there. If Agent Gibbs from NCIS comes knocking on my door, I know who to blame, Rev and Sam, just bail me out...JK lol
F amily Friend bought 39 ft marine trawler for Y2K. He and dad and someone familiar with area took trip to Bahamas in case they needed to bug out. Kept his boat at The Golden Isles Marine (Named at the time). Lots of memories there. White sands before St Andrews sound is Cumberland Island and the "private" dock at Jekyll is right there at millionaires village. Carnegie Pulman Rockerfeller et al had winter mansions there. Owned entire island. Think Carnegie owned Cumberland too. Turned most of it over to State years ago. JFK Jr married in small church on Cumberland. Check Scho and Jo on UA-cam they spent several days on Cumberland. 1st loopers I've seen stay where you are. And be glad of enclosed bridge, horseflies all around both inlets. I'm talking 100's
yeah....kings bay. our ballistic missile subs live and work in and out of there. you can guarantee there are thousands of angry marines nearby just waiting for something to do. also, your 1st Bn. 75th ranger regiment operates out of hunter army airfield in savannah. probably their Blackhawks you saw operating in that area.
Its full of cars and there haveing a hard time getting them off they all right next to each and there on there side so they have to be pulled out one at atime and theres six becks on that ship and they have to be rased up to get the cars off

San Diego! use to be America's Finest City, now it's America's most regulated City! as far as boating and water use!
Love that city. It is one of our favorites. We went there for one of Rev's landmark birthdays! Quite the zoo you have there! Sam
So sad to hear about that aspect!

Thanks for your service! Yes, like Schultz - "I know nothing!" LOL
GE sub base. Kings bay. Don’t get too close, security tight.
Yes, we could feel the high security!

Thank you! It is a very impressive looking base and I am sure the security is very tight. Hello then to a fellow pilot! Sam

Yes Joseph, what Andrew says is right. We are hoping all gets sorted out for another loop starting in 2021. Sam
Thanks Andrew! Sam

Uh Oh! We will have to camouflage our boat and make a run up the rivers! I KNOW NOTHING! LOL
Not a camp that’s cabin bluff closed down a few years ago . The out doorman Paradise
Looks so well kept. That is a shame it is closed.
What model Garmin is that sir?
It is a 7610 XSV. Cheers, Sam
St. Simons is in Georgia.
Why yes it is!
Are you gonna buy a 'New Yacht' and keep your new maintenance charts up-to-date!...
Well that remains to be seen! Sam wants to keep the Carver, Rev wants something new! Stay tuned to What Yacht To Do NEXT! LOL

Yes. I don't know why my brain kept saying Mayport! We put up graphics to correct it. I guess Bay rhymes with May and I had a short circuit! Sam
