anche questa una delle cose più graziose e preziose fra i miei innumerevoli ascolti . Grazie al grande compositore e grazie a questi magnifici esecutori.
This is my favourite musical instrument . When I was little my grandmother gave me her violin , so I had violin lessons all through my school years , I did play in the school orchestra . At that time I should have liked to play an oboe , but then I heard the Cor Anglais and fell in love with its mellow sound . This a most beautiful piece of music !!!
you probably dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my brother lately =)
@Avery Raymond Yea, been using instaflixxer for since december myself =)
An Italian composer of the early 20th century, Wolf Ferrari, is almost entirely unknown to the Japanese general public. His music carries an atmosphere of the 18-19th century Western Europe. It is almost a miracle that a musical composer like Ferrari has lived in a period 1876-1948. My friend, who died so unfortunately at the age of 74 in 2012, Yoshiyuki Nagatake, has written a biographical work on the life of Wolf Ferrari. Eiji
Thanks for the info
Superb - lovely playing and beautifully felt, by a composer not nearly played enough.
That's a truly beautiful performance on one of the most expressive of instruments.
Thanks Daniel
What a wonderful playing and sound! Congratulations!
It's amazing how Wolf-Ferrari's music grows on you. You can fail to notice its greatness because it IS so sweet and gentle in tone, rather than heavy and portentous. In a strange way, he reminds me of Francis Poulenc in the sense that Poulenc is also a very great figure, based on music noted more for its wit and melodic charm than for any grandiosity.
But then there is Poulenc's Organ Concerto, a dynamic piece that has me on the edge of my seat every time I hear it.
Your comment about this W-F music mirrors my opinion. Masmano does a fantastic job. For me it's the reed's resonance in the Adagio that brings wonderful satisfaction.
abdul7591 check out his operas...Especially SLY, and Gioelli Della Madonna!
Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari lived 1876 - 1948. This piece was written in 1947. May have been the last piece he wrote.
Goddamn, I want a Cor Anglais. Can be my oboe's new friend. Lovely piece.
Qué maravillosa obra( Wolf Ferrari un grande!), qué maravilloso instrumento y qué maravilloso intérprete! La orquesta hace un maravilloso trabajo también! Felicitaciones.
lovely to hear this concerto so beautifully played.. you have a lovely free and rich tone..
THANKYOU Jose Antonio..
Felicitari, fenomenal, muzica buna de tot, instrument greu, instrumentist deosebit, Fa Major intrutotul Op.34
Nice performance
What an amazing sound! Awesome!
A lovely piece ! Gracias José Antonio
I think Wolf-Ferrari and Finzi would have been fast friends!
Bravissimo!!! Magnifica esecuzione. Suono splendido complimenti!!!!
Magnífica interpretación de todos.
Buenisimo Jose Antonio. Me gusta mucho tanto esta grabacion como tu R. Strauss. Enhorabuena.
Beautiful! 😊 🙏
Gracias!!!!
Gracias Emilio
thanks!!!
Bravo on a beautiful performance! I'm hoping to perform it soon. Who publishes the music to this piece?
Thank you to our Spanish friends. Wolf-Ferrari is a humdinger. (I'll try and find "Sly"). I wouldn't apply that to Finzi. I learned the term from Gerard Hoffnung's hilarious "Let's Fake an Opera" decades ago. The instrument is slightly lower than the oboe & usually given the French name but why anglais and why cor? Is it right to use it in "Tristan"? An orchestral instrument is too refined for a shepherd's pipe. Wagner wanted the TAragato a folk-instrument with the right coarse comb and paper sound.
Dear Marcel,
Of course!!!!!!
Always I'm interested in playing new music.

Well done, Jose, very beautifully played. I'd like to write you a concerto, interested?
See my soundcloud/marcel-baars for some of my compositions.
Adrian Petrescu, Dorin Gliga se ridica la acest nivel, poate si altii de la noi, dar putini.
