One of Bowie's most underrated songs. His band is absolutely *COOKING* throughout, and in the final instrumental section they take off into orbit. Best rhythm section he ever had (and he had many brilliant ones).
Bowie in my opinion, had an almost OPERATIC CHARACTER TO MANY OF HIS TRACKS! Operatic singing voice. He could punch you in the gut with some of those type of singing. LOOK BACK IN ANGER is a great example of his singing power that could punch you in the gut! Dennis Davis did the drums on that track as well and that drumming performance pales this one in comparison!!!!!!
Warms my heart to see younger generations dig songs from my youth. So many magic memories of this song. One of them sitting alone in my bedroom at 16 years old learning how to play bass guitar to it on vinyl.
David Bowie's voice makes me feel the same way David Gilmour's guitar playing does. IYKYK I love this whole album, Stay and Wild is the Wind in particular. Other Bowie songs I love are Lady Grinning Soul and Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing (Reprise) - all three together.
This song is easily in my Top 10 Bowie songs : a perfect mix of fire (the whole rythm section and the guitar parts) and ice (Bowie's vocals, the synth playing throughout the song). So Bowiesque ! Since you already reacted to Golden years, Wild is the wind and now Stay, why don't you do yourself a favor and keep on the 3 remaining songs of the album : "Station to station", "Word on a wing" and "TVC 15". All of them are memorable, to say the least :) !
Robin Williams once made a joke about the similarity of David Bowie and Anthony Newley's singing voices. If you listen to Wild is the Wind and then listen to Anthony Newley, you'll know what I mean. Was also during Bing Crosby era of singing in that smooth vibrato style. Cheers!
From Station to Station, definitely check out TVC15. It's funky. And anything from his Young Americans album, his R&B/Soul album. The title track is crazy good. The album has David Sanborn on sax and Luther Vandross did background vocals and vocal arrangements. In fact Luther said that Bowie gave him his first big break. Also check out from the album, Right, Fascination and Somebody Up There Likes Me. Actually, every single song on that album is a must hear!
I think that every single album from 1970 to 1980 is an absolute masterpiece and almost every one is also a complete different genre from the previous one. Young Americans is also the beginning of his long time collab with guitarist Carlos Alomar, genius musician and his live "band leader" for twenty years.
This is my favorite Bowie album. Every song is fantastic. You have your play the trippy Station To Station and there’s 2 big hits from it Golden Years and TVC15. Underrated guitar work from longtime Bowie guy Carlos Alomar. Also Hikaru Davis has some videos on UA-cam called Tracing My Dad-The life and music of Dennis Davis the drummer who passed away a few years back in 2016.
Carlos Alomar on that tight rhythm guitar, Earl Slick on guitar abuse and rocky noises. George Murray, bass, Dennis Davis, drums, Warren Peace, percussion, Roy Bittan(E-Street Band), piano. Great track. Textbook use of 9th chords for a funk groove. Blah blah blah. Tired of typing, back to listening. 'TVC-15' next maybe? 🤔🤷🏽 ✌🏼😊🎶❤️🍁❤️✨️🕊
Wild is the wind is one of his best vocals. He didn’t write that one but it is s fantastic cover but if you check it out make sure you get the album version (not the shortened version). Also the live version of word on a wing (included in the deluxe edition of the album) is gorgeous. Phenominal song and a real cry for help
Neither the discofication of rock nor the rockification of disco ever sounded so good ---but then, this is a Bowie operation Dig "Sound and Vision" and "Look Back in Anger" for more of that fat rhythm section on other discs

Alomar/Davis/Murray really one of the most underrated rhythm sections of all times.
Bowie always had great production and top tier bands.
Dennis Davis!!!!! He was an AMAZING Drummer!!!!
such a great track, one of my favourites which is hard to say as there are so many bangers but this is brilliant
I could listen to that jamming at the end for another 10 minutes. Bowie Rules!
The live version filmed at the BBC is epic. Definitely worth a watch!
This tour was galvanizing. Thin White Duke sh*t imprinted on my memory...especially after Diamond Dogs used to be my Bowie jam.

Any time you react to Bowie, I'll definitely be here asap!! 🖤
Its got that discoteque vibe too! You NAILED IT!
Great show off of his musicians abilities
The German period when he lived there for awhile. The funky opening love it. Its definetely got the FUNK VIBE!
Hit the title track to that album. It’s incredible. Enjoy!!!
TVC 15 is my favorite track from Station to Station.
That's tops :)

Let's Gooooooo
That's a great album!
This album killed me when it first came out and still does. TVC15 is another wild one.
THIS is, #BlueEyedSoul, brother !! 👍😎👍
Supposedly Bowie couldn’t even remember making the album what an insanely talented artist he was
This track among others by Bowie and Gang, never gets old!
'Wild is the Wind' is my favorite Bowie track. Please do 'Station to Station', an epic mix of funk, rock and prog.

Give the whole of his Young Americans album a spin.

Great song. Great reaction. Star Star by the Stones. You gotta react to it, Biz.
Ya gotta do the song "Station to Station" for sure.
I think you should check out Bowie's Metal band Tin Machine!
Neither the discofication of rock nor the rockification of disco ever sounded so good ---but then, this is a Bowie operation
