    Spurs fans have no need to boo the National Anthem. It was government policy to over see a "managed decline" of Merseyside under Thatcher as government papers released after 30 yrs showed. Have you ever heard all the verses of the National Anthem ? Should Scots sing it? The verse about crushing the rebellious Scots isn't exactly something they can get behind is it? Secondly Everton's new stadium designed for football, fans and atmosphere will be the best stadium in England. Criticism over the Anthem from a fan base supporting the massacre of innocent people, you need to go have a long think.

    • @garymoore2535
      @garymoore2535 9 місяців тому

      The verse concerning "rebellious Scots" was removed from the National Anthem many decades ago..... Flower of Scotland on the other hand still contains reference to a Scottish Military Victory over British forces to this very day. It is all ancient history now anyway.

    • @gary1642
      @gary1642 9 місяців тому

      @garymoore2535 the rebellious Scots verse is anti Scottish in an anthem they were supposed to sing with pride. The Flower of Scotland is pro Scottish. As for God Save the King its a pledge of allegiance to the Monarch . The numbers of our population wishing to abolish the monarchy grows year on year especially within the young. Our National anthem is divisive and no one should be criticised for disagreeing with it.

    • @garymoore2535
      @garymoore2535 9 місяців тому

      Gary..... As stated the "rebellious Scots to Crush" verse was removed from the National Anthem eons ago. Your opening comment is therefore simply wrong, the verse is NOT part of the UK's National Anthem. I might add that George 2's Army largely consisted of Scotsmen itself ! Flower of Scotland therefore actually represents a victory of Scottish Jacobite forces over largely Scottish Lowland forces, of course there is no verse referencing the subsequent battle after George 2's army had indeed "thought again". For want of a better expression "Tribalism" was probably a survival necessity, prospects being far better to belong to a strong tribe than a weak one. These days such rivalries are confined to sports fields. A lot of people forget that for a time the UK was a Republic .......we tried it but didn't like it !
      😘

    • @gary1642
      @gary1642 9 місяців тому

      @garymoore2535 in 2007 Gordon Brown asked for a review of Britain and its traditions. In 2010 it was recommended the verse be removed or changed. As of 19th September 2022 in an article in The Argus this still hasn't happened. Even if I were to accept your nonsense that it was removed it wasnt EONS ago was it. I'm not wrong and as I said how can people be criticised for not rallying behind such a devisive anthem. Not everyone in the UK is English or Royalist. Its time the anthem was replaced by one every citizen in the UK can get behind. I certainly won't pledge my allegiance to a man wanting to be reincarnated as a tampon.

    I'm old enough to remember Everton Liverpool games being referred to as 'The Friendly Derby'. Families split on Derby day, brothers and friends going to the game together, some red some blue. Now it's a toxic derby. Liverpool have less than 7000 season ticket holders within the Liverpool postal district. This policy you "respect" not only created this toxic atmosphere it rewards so called fans ripping off genuine fans like yourself. The club is happy to take its cash without any consideration for its fans. You say the club could do more, it couldn't possibly do less.

    • @thanekrios3211
      @thanekrios3211 7 місяців тому

      No policy created the "toxic derby" atmosphere. It was born from Heysel.

    • @gary1642
      @gary1642 7 місяців тому

      Brothers one red one blue don't go to the game together anymore. That's due to ticketing. The " We knocked Everton out of the European Cup without kicking a ball " so called jokes didn't help I agree.

    • @thanekrios3211
      @thanekrios3211 7 місяців тому

      @@gary1642 It wasn't just the jokes though, it was a long-held hostility from Everton fans that felt that Liverpool had been responsible for Everton not fullfilling it's potential as a club due to the ban. Regardless, things such as large portions of Goodison chanting Murderers isn't down to ticketing and such things have been a much greater factor in contributing to the toxicity than any ticketing arrangements. I do agree that the club should be prioritising locals more, but having mixed sections in any numbers is a recipe for disaster in the current climate. Moreover, what you are advocating for also means that the club would actually be priorisizing non-Liverpool fans. Why should Everton fans be given a single ticket from the home allocation? Even if they are from Liverpool, they are still rival fans at the end of the day. It's a shame that things have gone the way that they have between supporters of the two clubs, but ticketing wasn't the root cause of that and is not a viable solution to it either.

    • @gary1642
      @gary1642 7 місяців тому

      I have never asked or even mentioned Evertonians,or any other fans,being prioritised over Liverpudlians when ticket allocations are distributed. I would support a rise in away teams being awarded a greater percentage of match day tickets. I'm old enough to remember going to games where away fans could be heard. Klopp is continuing the argument started by Roy Keane years ago complaining about sterile atmospheres at grounds. As for Heysel don't get me started. The immediate response from Liverpool officials was to blame fans of London based clubs. That "it wasn't us" rhetoric remains to this day. The hypocrisy shown by club and fans after Hillsborough has made Liverpool and its supporters the most hated club and fans in England amongst neutrals. As for the ticketing policy Scousers would show more respect to each other than Evertonians do to the Surrey and Norwegian Reds and vice versa. I now live in North Wales and know 2 Liverpool season ticket holders. Neither go to the games regularly. Both complain about the cost and sell their tickets on to 2 other fans. These guys buying the tickets don't go to Liverpool v Everton, Man Utd, Arsenal and any other big game. This could easily be stamped out by the club, if they cared, or if it benefitted the club financially this would be stopped overnight.

    • @thanekrios3211
      @thanekrios3211 7 місяців тому +1

      @@gary1642 You're just rambling at this point. Your original point was that the derby had become toxic due to the ticketing policy of the club. Sorry to be blunt, but that's just absolute bollocks. You're also seemingly contradicting yourself. On one hand you're moaning that locals aren't being prioritized and on the other advocating for more of the available match day tickets to go to away supporters. It makes no sense whatsoever. As for the "Scousers would show more respect to each other than Evertonians do to the Surrey and Norwegian Reds", that's romanticised bullshit. I don't wish to dissect all of the Heysel stuff that you wrote, as things such as the hypocrisy that you perceive over Heysel/Hillsborough are for the most part completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand and the points that you make within do nothing to support your stance that the ticket allocation is to blame for the atmosphere at the derby. The bottom line is that your belief that the toxic atmosphere is derived from the clubs ticketing policy or that the derby would be some sort of love-in if the crowd was majority scouse is simply without basis. As for your mates selling their season tickets on, that is expressly forbidden in the terms and conditions and is actually a criminal offense, so you might want to let them know.

      Watch any Liverpool home game on TV and Liverpool FC's ticketing policy and contempt for its local fans is clear. The front rows of the Kemlin Rd are full of Asian fans, proudly clutching their club shop bags filled with tat from the club shop. Each of these fans wearing the scarf for the day, half red half their opponent of that day. Remember the "friendly derby"? Blue and red, brothers , father and son rivals for the day going to the game together. Now down to Liverpool chasing corporate cash it's now the toxic derby. 6,000 season ticket holders within the Liverpool postal district is an absolute disgrace.

      I understand you. I’m a Liverpool supporter and a tourist from Hong Kong and I fully respect the ticketing policy of the football club. I knew it’s really really difficult to purchase tickets from the official website since the seats are extremely limited. I then saw there are tickets selling online with skyrocketing price. This particular game eventually costed me around 7000 hong kong dollars for two seats, which is my hard earned money. same as many people, I don’t get a privilege to buy the official ticket, so I have to use other ways to do so. I am very fortunate to have seen such a beautiful game like this one. I consider myself a very lucky person at the end.

The club allowing tickets to be sold on at huge profit by other so called fans is deplorable. Then fans like yourself condoning blatant profiteering costing their foreign fans thousands for tickets makes no sense. Lobby the club explaining how much you paid.

Something like face ID… Who doesn’t want a fair treat? It’s the best outcome that everyone gets a ticket but it’s impossible. Anyways i’m not digging into that area. Nonetheless the club doesn’t manage well on prevents tickets scalping, I’m just finding my way, like many others, to find legitimate tickets online. Whether it’s deplorable or not, this is how the world runs at the moment.
