- This is the just beautiful score to the film Cannibal Holocaust the movie so shocking it was banned upon it release. Yes I have got the DVD and I have seen the movie and yes I do think it was a bit shocking but not that I can not watch it but I will NEVER watch the scenes with the animals in the I am a big animal lover so I can not watch that.
The score was composed by Riz Ortolani and I am not the first and not the last to say this score was absolutely amazing from start to finish I love every second of it, it is so so beautiful.
The music itself is a variety of styles, from a gentle melody in the "Main Theme", to a sad and flowing score in "Crucified Woman", and even faster and more upbeat tracks in "Cameraman's Recreation", "Relaxing in the Savannah", and "Drinking Coco". The instrumentals are equally mixed, ranging from full orchestras to electronics and synthesizers.
My favourite track is the Cannibal Holocaust Main Theme it is my favourite theme of all time I love it so much it is my ring tone Haha.
The other tracks I like are Adulteress' Punishment this is my second favourite track it is very powerful track due to the scene it plays to for those who have scene the movie.
Along the same lines of powerful music in another favourite is Savage Rite a mix of
Adulteress' Punishment & Massacre Of The Troupe.
Massacre Of The Troupe is another one of my favourites another powerful one with a mix of beauty to it.
Love With Fun is like a remix of the theme which I love.
Crucified Woman is the only real sad theme of the movie but I still love it.
And lastly we come the Cannibal Holocaust (End Titles) the theme with as bit of the jungle synth music to it.
So love and enjoy one of the best film scores of all time!

You need to listen to Nobou Uematsu, the Japanese self-taught composer who wrote and performed the music for many of the "Final Fantasy" video games . You might start with "Overworld Theme" from "Final Fantasy VII." It just gets better as it continues.... Try "Village Of Dali" from Final Fantasy IX.

They sure don't write music like this for today's films. The second one conjures up horror for those who have watched it. I saw it first on a grainy old unrated vhs back in -96. A real shocker! I love how the Italians take their horror seriously.

The first music has no darkness in it. It couldve passed for any romantic/drama/mystery/adventure fantasy movie bgm. But the second....👹
First one suits the film well imo
That's why the first song works so well. Lowers your defenses for the suckerpunch that's coming.
That's exactly why the movie's theme works. Lulls you into a false sense of security so you aren't mentally ready for the crazy bullshit that's finna go down. Then BOOM. The movie itself hits you full force.
I watch this film sometimes pretty many times and i feel heartburning and i never watch again, once can be too much, soundTrack is a amazing but sick and beatyfull, that listening but i wont watch that movie anyMore..

Quality of a film in in the eye of the beholder. I enjoy 70's exploitation films, cliches and tropes and all, far more than I enjoy the most polished, modern, AAA blockbusters of today.

I've never seen this film, but judging by the main musical score(it has that old school Americana midwestern feel to it), it definitely sounds like something worth seeing!
I like this score cuz its ironic. This is a shocking and disturbing horror film, yet the music is soothing, none of that 'DUN DUN DUUUN' scary music cliche.

the song at 3:03 listing to that and watching some Carnage disturbing scenes at the same time made my skin crawl LOL, But still what a wonderful horror movie.
The first soundtrack is so beautiful yet the second is so disturbing. The movie was actually worth watching and kept me interested throughout. As long as you don't have a weak stomach or are someone who is easily offended, its worth watching.

OMG! I just got back from a Melvins show, the band that opened, The Unsane, opened their set with this song playing, and then went into their first song from it. AMAZING!

the second song in thie video (starting around 3:12) might just be the darkest and most disturbing mixture of music and sounf effects my ears have ever had the joy of listening to. (yes, i said JOY)....because it is mysteriously beautiful...amazing...and sparks a variety of emotions. This being said....I think the fact that I've seen the movie first adds to the effect...but nevertheless...truly a materpeice in the oddest possible way.

Parts of the string ensemble remind me of Mozart's dissonance quartet. It's quite a stirring piece of music, especially considering the film it was written for.

I downloaded the movie and skipped through to see if I could handle it, but I got to the animal scenes and I couldn't handle it at all, so I figured the whole movie wasn't worth it, but maybe I'll give it another try and just skip those parts.
I've seen a lot of fucked up shit in my life.... I mean I hooked on the streets of LA for 18 years... from the age of 14 till I was about 32, & this movie is the most fucked up movie I have ever seen.. totally worth it.

the song from 3.03 is what i symbolise as the main theme. when that was played with the killings it fitted perfectly. the scenes with the turtle and rape of that woman with that dildo for adultery were the only bits i had to turn away

imagine that when the film has been presented for the first time the audience was so upset that the director has called a local gangster to escort him from the cinema to a secret location where he has been hidden waiting for the plane to go back to Italy. The movie has been officially recognised only 23 year after has been filmed and the director has been banned from film making for 3 years, being forced to show to a court in Italy that the native murdered in the film where still alive.
