What hair straightener is best for curling hair AND straightening.
Hello, welcome back to my channel. I thought about what I want to see covered in a hair iron comparison video and included the important factors in this video. The video compares GHD Gold flat irons and Cloud 9 Original’s review. I’ve watched all of the Top 5 best stylers to work out which hair straightener is best out there and was extremely unimpressed with the new Dyson Corrale styler it is the bulkiest styler I’ve seen yet, making styling very difficult after watching all of them i still couldn’t scratch the itch I had with the detail I wanted. I explain why I selected Cloud 9 Original’s vs Cloud 9 Touch irons. I have covered the size of the irons. I have shown different styles, straight hair and curly hair / wavy hair as well and my thoughts and preference.
I didn’t consider GHD Platinum also because of their size. They are similar to GHD Gold’s in size. My recommendation if you want GHD is to go for the GHD Original they are reliable, durable, good size and faithful!
I’ve been wanting a new pair of straighteners for a long time (over a year) but couldn’t decide which ones would be best to spend my money on. Also I felt there was nothing wrong (but something wrong) with my current ones. Then I realised it’s the way it curls but wasn’t sure why it wasn’t curling very good. The results are in the video and which straightener is best for my density of hair. Look at temperature controls.

This was a really helpful comparison, thank you. I just got a new pair of GHD platinum plus out of the box and gave them a go and am very unimpressed with them. Another comparison I just watched by a hairdresser suggested that the low temperature on the cloud nines will actually help the longevity of the curls. That the hotter setting will be tighter initially but the cooler setting will stay longer. To do with how much moisture we lose at the hot settings 🤷🏻♀️

i've just bought the cloud 9 based on this. i've been using the ghd plat plus for years and its just awful. ive been wondering if i should get cloud 9s because ive heard such good stuff about them but theres hardly ANY recent reviews or comparisons on here - so AMAZING JOB! thanks for taking the time to do this Victoria x

@@muskanmirza8698hello, they are really good because you can control the temperature. Whether you want it for a quick style with not as much heat or a lot of heat. I used to use GHDs a lot - and I feel like GHDs feel a little more expensive in your hands but they didn’t work as well as the cloud 9s. I would definitely recommend and they are a lot more affordable. Hope that helps

I had the original ghd wen they first came out. They lasted me 7 yrs, but i hated the way they pulled and snagged on my hair, and then wen they broke i was converted to cloud nine by my hairdresser. i use them on temperature 200, they glide thro the hair very smoothly which is why i always said id never go back to ghd lol The first c9 pair lasted me about 5 yrs but since then ive had another 2 pairs in 3 years. They both just stopped workin with no fault and now im completely out of warranty so ive just ordered ghd gold as they r cheaper and Im hopin i dont regret it but both starighteners are founded by the same person so they r very similar stylers.
how is your GHD going now? i have one its old but i find it doesnt really make my hair that straight and doing a curl is useless lol so i was thinking of getting C9
@@steephaniieeeee i sold them to a friend and went back to cloud nine. They were really good straighteners and i think they made my hair much more sleeker for longer but i found the plates were just a bit too chunky and i couldn’t get close enough to the roots, as i have naturally curly hair so i was left with kinks at the roots.
To be honest i think when my first pair of c9 broke they sent me refurbished ones which is why they didn’t last as long. But if these pack up on me too soon i have already decided im going to get the ghd platinum+ ones. But we will see. X
So my verdict is ghd gold are much better at straightening the hair and keeping it straight but cloud nines are better getting closer to the scalp. C9 They are also good for curling but I generally only straighten my hair. X

@@steephaniieeeee I currently have the ghd hair dryer as it was a cheaper alternative to the dyson one. That is really good. Drys hair quick on medium heat x

I have not tried them, however judging from small ghd vs cloud 9 small. I would guess cloud 9 wide would be better.
Do you feel the ends slightly burnt with Cloud nine?
No not at all. What temp are you having them on? I always use heat protection as well but my hair has grown since getting them and much less dry.

They do when you press them together, it’s slightly like a spring / suspension feature. It is nothing to worry about 👍
