Wow what amazing video!! I am happy to watch this kind of content. I think people from Latino countries or different nationalities countries reject your invitation because it weird that someone invites them for a lunch or a dinner.. I consider it could be a cultural shock or people feel fear to get out of their comfort zone. Congratulation for your channel.. Greetings from Mexico🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
For the person on the receiving end, I'd kinda be creeped out with a sudden dinner invite from a stranger. But that also means I'd lose a special opportunity to meet someone that's awesome and experience the kindness of a genuine and caring person that wants to do good in this world. Bless you. You have a kind heart. We can learn from you, dear brother 🙂
Shloime, my name is Jeffrey. I wouldn't have blown you off and you wouldn't have wasted all that time. Seriously, you have a really big heart wanting to do this. Not everyone has a heart like yours. Looking forward to the next episode and see if you eventually succeeded.
I just discovered your channel and just watched this video. What a beautiful thing to do and it actually brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for doing such a kind gesture, peace is possible.
I would try lunch hour or breakfast. As a straight man, I'd get creeped out with a dinner invite from another man, Jewish or not. Dinner is just the more ' romantic' of meals. Lunch invite from a stranger might be less uncomfortable.
As a British man who has never really looked into but always wondered about the Jewish religion I feel you should come to Britain as my guest so I can show you the depths of England that are hidden from media
Hi Shloime, came across your UA-cam channel watching the episode with Peter. I've got an interesting background and story similar to Unorthodox while I'm not frum anymore I don't blame an entire community for the bad done to me . I work with frum people pretty much and I'm glad you invited Peter inside to see the good and the bad in every community. Mike
Shloime. I like your idea yet I understand why it is difficult. It's a working day and your drivers, who are family men, are earning for their families. Also, since it is unusual for a ride-customer to offer a restaurant meal, they do not know if they will be swept into a dragnet or scam of some kind. Also, they do not know you well enough to accept your offer, which you will agree is unusual. I suspect if you were in Boro Park, your results may be different. My community is similar; I live in suburban Salt Lake City; and community here is more trusting and life is not as hectic. If it were me, my main motive to accept would NOT be the meal, rather the opportunity to learn more about your life and community. - Steven, Utah USA
Hello Shloimi, I would ditch the mask for starters :). As an Uber driver , this was always a red flag for me , if a customer asked to join them to the bar, I always said no . There were many instances where random girls asked me out as well. It's not so much that hey wouldn't wanna take the time out their busy day but mixing work and pleasure is never a good idea. Perhaps you could change the rules a little bit. Instead of spending all of that money on Uber rides, hand out $100 to 5 different drivers. Let them know what you are doing and the whole purpose of it. Not only will it make them jump a joy getting that nice tip , they will tell all of their friends . Imagine the kind of coverage you would get , this becomes a win win for everybody . Just throwing some ideas , please don't take this in a negative way . If you are ever in Seattle, feel free to reach out, I would definitely have dinner with you. Omer
Shloime, can't believe you came to Miami ! I'm actually surprised you didn't visit North Miami Beach , a huge Chasidic population. It's insane to think I could have run into you on the street. Love the videos :') -אבי
I’m off to FL, I’ll register for being an Uber driver, my name is Mark, I’ll have dinner with you, I’ll be happy for the $500, can you please make sure it’s a good meal, lobster & steak would be just perfect....😂, see you tomorrow 👍
I been an Uber driver for 5 years and I could have told you it wasnt going to work. Its just very weird especially nowadays with the current virus to ask a stranger to go out with them to eat or hang out.
Your vlogs are great, informative and quite humorous directly and indirectly. The idea is great but I think because the trips are pretty quick and you need to ask the question quite soon it must come across pretty creepy to the driver. Like is this guy interested in me or will i be seeing my family again in the morning :)
Hello from the UK. I have tried something similar myself. But we live in a crazy world now and people are scared to talk to anyone these days, never mind go out with a stranger. Well done for trying. Maybe I should pay for your taxi fair.?
Very nice gesture!, but i think next time you should also offer them $100 with the free meal to give them an incentive to stop working for an hour THEN after the meal give them the remaining $400
Uber is not very popular in Pakistan... We use "creem" more than Uber... We also have BYKIA (Bike ride)... You can call Bykia for a motorcycle ride to anywhere and also can call them to bring you anything from the market... Anything like a pack of chips, vegetables... or even disprin if you are having a headache.
Hi Shloime I was wondering if you have ever heard of the oldest synagogue in the USA it’s in Newport RI a 3 hour drive for you it’s called Touro I tried to inbed a link here but it won’t take it check it out my friend, I think it would make a great video
I feel like this could be a very interesting sociological experiment. I wonder if different people did it or if you did it in different cities you would get different results. People will say no for different reasons obviously. I’m a very free spirited person and would have said yes, but I also often think about how I could not be as free spirited if I had serious obligations like children. I think you’re right that you needed to find a free spirited person, but also one with limited obligations.
I wish it would've worked out. When striking a conversation if you have an agenda the counterpart feels it and it destroys the natural feel to it so they all refuse because they don't have why to join you (except the money which they don't know) so instead take it slowly don't try to make much conversation just let the atmosphere flow and chatter happen and then ask if they want to join it will make them feel more at ease with you
B"H Hi! Really nice idea and video! I hope you have better luck next time. Maybe next time, don't ask if they want to "go out" to dinner. Maybe go earlier in the day -- maybe 1 or 2ish; just after lunch, you know, maybe they were busy and didn't have time for lunch. Just some ideas! Also, I was wondering if you could please turn on the CC? It would be much appreciated.
The biggest issue here Shalomie is the fact your a man asking another man out to dinner, lol. , Majority of men will say no, now if you were female then the first Uber would of jumped on it..lol.., so awesome your doing this, but try doing like a " hey driver I'm from out of town I need conversation to learn some stuff would you be interested to chat if I paid for your dinner
I would love to go to dinner with you, so many questions I would ask you about your life, your travels, the world, the food in your culture hope that you find someone that the money and the meal with make a difference in their lives good luck
Please come to visit our dog rescue and sanctuary. It is a very bad area for cruelty. Not much kindness from some cultures. We are into education..... We r in California. All volunteers. A registered charity. Thanks so much.
I enjoy most of your stuff, and believe you've done a great job of communicating your vision of building bridges between the Jewish and non-Jewish community. However, this video, and it's concept, really missed the mark. Uber, Lyft, or any other public transportation company drivers have no idea whose getting in their car or what the passenger's intentions are. 99.9% of drivers are going to think some dude asking them out to dinner is creepy or worse. I get the idea of wanting to do something special for somebody who went out of their way, but how about just tipping the first 5 drivers an extra $100? That would make their day and you'd be spreading the good will 5x. Also, and on a separate note, a bit of constructive criticism; the production quality of your videos are good, but can be made superior if you hone your production skills. One thing in particular, you have a tendency to turn around when taping yourself. The effect is visually nauseating for the viewer (I mean that in a literal way, not an insulting way). Take a look at your footage at the post office and you'll see what I'm referring to, although this is a common element in your videos. Take a look at the videos made by Kara and Nate, and she even offers a course on producing videos in her style. I mean this critique in the best possible way as I'd love to see your video content reach an even larger market. All the best to you, and zei gezunt!
Your kindness is an example for everyone. If more people thought like you, maybe we could begin to heal.
Shloime, you always bring a bright spot to my day!
The bigger your heart grows, the harder it is to contain.

Hi! I’m wondering how u keep all the kashrut laws while traveling? Do you just opt to eat non kosher or do you bring food? Love your channel!!
Hilariously I stayed the same hotel about two weeks ago.
I been an Uber driver for 5 years and I could have told you it wasnt going to work. Its just very weird especially nowadays with the current virus to ask a stranger to go out with them to eat or hang out.
When is part 2 coming?

how do you eat in public restaurants? what do you do for Kashrut and chassidic restrictions?
