Great reaction! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ve always loved this video because the campy horror element makes it a super fun watch! I always try to defend the sexiness element in the comments because while it is very sexy, the topless-in-the-shadows bit does also have a deeper meaning to it as well (that is understandably overlooked by most lol). Avienne in the shadows represents an internal struggle, fighting against a powerful, evil force that is trying to overtake her. Historically in art and literature, both the nakedness and the darkness is used to represent vulnerability and fear. So yes, it’s a sexy good time but it also goes beyond that🤓
I can’t remember if you reacted to their video for “The Holy Procession” but Rylan the co-burglar/g*mp in this video is also the Priest in Holy P🤓 They were in a previous band with some of VINTERSEA and were in VINTERSEA in the super early days but intimately left before they officially recorded the EP. Rylan did keyboards and back up vocals.

I love watching reactions and always try to hop into the comments with fun facts when I can 🤓 I am the merch girl for the band and have volunteered on set in whatever capacity that they need for all of the music videos. I’m usually running around with lights or cans of fog or turning people into gold but due to COVID casting (I’m married to Riley, one of the guitarists), I ended up acting in the Crack of Light and Holy Procession music videos😄 I’m no actress but Avienne is incredible at coaching people through scenes💙
Decent review / reaction of this song. Not my favourite but it’s got a nice dirty lo-fi heaviness that is complimented by the video. Feel free to return to VINTERSEA anytime!
