The attitude part I had to learn the hard way because in my second year at FAANG (I was L4), I was desperately trying to become a senior engineer and as a result was focusing on the wrong things and probably horrible to work with. At some point I shifted my attitude to 'always assume good intent' with every one of my coworkers and things shifted SO MUCH after implementing that.
That is a very good point! And not talked about enough. We're quick to jump to conclusions and assume intent but some people are just more assertive or cold in their communication style. Detaching an emotional response from those situations is something I've found super helpful as well!
Thanks for this video, Im also iOS developer and i think this video like command line print “Hello world!!!” 😂 any developer should watch this video I come from Viet Nam, my english is not good but the video illustrations help me deeply understand the meaning you want to convey. so good 👍👍👍
Hi! Can you make a video where you talk about how to learn coding. And also if you can a new video of the SE's day at microsoft. Thanks for your channel)
Wow, this video was really helpful! As an aspiring software engineer, I found it gave me great insights and a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Thanks for creating and sharing it!
Another amazing video, Juan! Thanks for sharing with us! Ps.: Your glasses are amazing! Which brand are they (if you don't mind saying, of course)? Cheers from Brazil!
Killing it as always! Your editing is really on point. Really motivates me to step up my game as well! I can relate to many of these points, even though I don't have a CS degree (made a career change). Maybe I should also make a video with my perspective 🤔 Keep it up! 👍
Thank you! That would definitely be interesting! I know several people with no CS backgrounds that have made the transition so I'm sure a lot of people would be curious :)
What are some of the things you wish you knew?! I’m sure I missed some more of my own :)
