Whosoever is good with numbers, mostly PCM students are good with numbers. So engineer can grasp it better.
In CA course many student don't like to study maths( including me )😁.
But it's depends on an individual tbh.

Thats not correct actually, it's a commerce oriented course, that derives ot routes from maths and stats, So, I would say that a student who has studied commerce with maths and is very comfortable and has deep interest in Maths, is best suited for this course. And say for graduation, a student having a bachelors in Maths, StaTs, Eco is a good to go option. Engineering is no where required in this, neither is CA(that is for rattu parrots, no maths, no coneptual study) .

No because actuary include calculus all and applied maths is out of it amd it requires to take standard exam because actuaries need 1st 85 + marks in standard maths
Yes you may, there are no restrictions regarding maths part. But normal maths would make your learning a bit easy.

Check if you're getting any exemptions for msc from IAI or IFOA. Also, collect info about your placement cell of college regarding what all companies come to your college.
You ought to have a strong network to land in good companies with good packages. This is true that jobs are limited to metropolitan cities/big cities like delhi/gurgaon, mumbai, banglore, chennai etc. but its definitely a great course. It can even help you connect to scientific concepts such as machine learning. Moreover job opportunities are good in India as well as in foreign countries as well like canada, UK, ireland, USA, etc basically all the major countries. You just need to be 100% dedicated and open to learning and daring enough to accept any failures that might come in your path. I'm a commerce student but I know how to code in R and python thanks to AS for developing the urge to learn more. Cheerz!✨

Generally there's a stigma that pass percentage of UK is more than that of India which is kinda true. Indian society costs much lesser than IFoA, UK. Course and paper pattern is same in both the societies. But since now exams are being delivered online, Indian exams are less difficult now. Kinda on the same track or even below in the level of difficulty with UK
@@saksham8210 How does, exams being held online in case of IAI makes them simpler, even though we do have web camera on in case of IAI exams, which was off for IFOA exams? Just curious to know your views, as I gave from both IAI and IFOA this attempt.
@@vaishnavikaushik6430 They are including more mcqs in numerical papers, theory is very easy and fast to type. Moreover since I revise past year exams I found the paper comparatively easy.
@@saksham8210 yes, I agree with that, so i feel concludingly platform is stricter in case of IAI, and paper is difficult in case of IFOA.

I completed 5 Actuarial Papers and was very disappointed with what I study...Jobs are also too limited particularly in India with so much unemployment, There are absolutely no jobs in most indian cities...I left this course and I am very happy I left it and I Recommend people not to Go for this course if Salary is your major goal...If you like the subject only then do this course..It's not that great course to be very honest

It is true that the fresher market is highly saturated and the entry barrier is high. But I would like to draw your attention to the skillset people who have been able to land a fresher job, most of them would have expertise in related fields such as coding, data sceince etc.

I'll keep the conversation short and crisp.My name's Vandit and I m an Actuary aspirant (INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ACTUARIES).I'll be giving my entrance exam this Dec 21(Actuarial Common Entrance Test).I know that an Actuary needs to be good at calculus and I m leaving no stones unturned to make sure that's the case with me as well.What I want to know is,is Trigonometric Calculus of any use to an actuary student at any level (including all the exams till one clears the Actuary course itself)?I'm absolutely fine with trigonometric calculus.I don't find it difficult but the problem is,the five books that I am using for learning and understanding calculus have both type of questions, trigonometry based and vice versa.This means that I'll have to put a lot of time if I go ahead and practice those type of sums.So if u can guide me on whether or not I can skip trig related calc or not,that'll be of great help to me......
You can leave trigonometry and its calculus part. We don't have to study trigo in actuarial
Trigonometry is not there in Actuarial papers. Calculus is used but only the Basic calculus. Your Statistics portion must be good or should have an interest.

It generally depends on the pathway followed to become an actuary
and actually it is achievable to become a fully qualified actuary within 5 years

Don't do Actuarial course. I hv cleared 9 papers. Due to complete difference in its domains, once you enter a domain, it will get difficult to switch to another domain. In this huge country, only 100 companies roughly are there who hire actuaries. Rather do CA, for which there are lacs of companies hiring them. CA salary level may have come down, but their importance in any company will never go down.🙏

@@nehadancecovers4315 demand is very limited. You will go round and round to same few companies.. a to b, b to c, c to d and then back to a or b. Not may strong companies. Further, employee benefits is one domain which you will try to escape first.. reason is that Indian companies don't believe in standard so any roadside firm will give reports, second if u work in mnc.. u will do outsourcing work. Like a machin, in front of a laptop for 12 hours a day..

@@mohdaleem903 yes nowadays if you know data analytics, you are a stronger candidate then someone who has only done actuarial papers. So you have an edge. Even if you don't do Actuarial papers, you can get job plus long term security of job.
