I am not an educated guy but i know when something stirs within my soul on a very profound level. That is what George Rowlett paintings does to me. I cannot quantify it and again i dont think i need to, the feeling is everything.
One of the few modern day painters who's work really moves me. He has the greatest instincts for colour and atmosphere, and the handling of paint is off the scale.
God. You can taste, feel hear, See emotionally experience his paintings. It's like falling in love, butterfly in my tummy overcome every time totally surprised. Loooooooooove
He's got his style of slopping on the paint LOL, very colorfully done. Its got that side walk appeal dont get to close lol . Pheasant viewers opinion pardon my lack of Professionalism hehe
This artist, like many I've seen, labors under the false idea that the thicker the paint, obviously the more deepfelt the emotion. Clearly untrue. Personally, I find all the paintings here quite unpleasant, and furthermore, unsuccessful. Probably the only artist to have really successfully employed thick impasto is Van Gogh, and Rowlett is no Van Gogh by any stretch of the imagination. Van Gogh had actual reasons why each thick stroke was painted that way. He also did countless paintings without thick strokes. But here we see it just as a formula, a manner of everyday work. I, for one, am unimpressed, and instead of seeing "expressed emotion", I just see paint lathered on thickly but without meaning.
@@mmasterton6527 Oh, don't worry. I see the point of his work alright. I see poor drawing, poor composition, poor depiction of light and form, masking failures with thick slathered-on paint, and worst of all: poor concepts and ideas.

Strange, I did not notice the music, because I was so mesmerized by the paintings.
The Brilliant Mr George Rowlett. I cant help but think of that other painting genius, Vincent Van Gogh. ❤🙏🇬🇧

МАСТЕР!
If Mr.Rowlett's intensity and unique handling of paint would be doubled by a equally strong sense of design, he would be a great master...
His composition and his palette are masterful.
Look again!
Somewhat Vincent…
It looks messy to me and very sloppy and why is this good?

Who cares how thick or thin the paint is? You are completely missing the point of his work.

I would be interested in your opinion of a Tom and Jerry cartoon as that might not fail the standards you set.
@@KpxUrz5745I’ll have to put you in the clueless category in spite of your attempt to come of as a critic.
