    I just started studying flute a month ago, and this was the first video I saved in my Flute playlist. It is so memorable and I am glad to come back to it after learning some fingerings. I have a working theory that the aiming point required for such high sounds is very small, and is centered in the larger aiming point of lower notes. This applies to my primary instrument trombone since we are both subject to the harmonic series! Thanks for helping so much in ways I can grasp!

    This is fantastic! Especially helpful to me was this whistle tone concept! Amazing!

    This is so good, as an older player really struggling to get a nice tone after 3 years of playing. I love how you were told to turn your flute out, this is my biggest problem my flute teacher is working on this with me now.

    Such great embouchure workouts. I'll be coming back to this. So useful even for a back-to-the-flute-after-decades beginner!

    The high/low exercise is brilliant! I learned a similar technique from my voice coach. It was a physical and mental exercise to think low when singing high and think high when singing low. It truly works, with practice. I use this thinking when playing flute.

    I love all your videos, but this one is really a treat! I'm a saxophone player and doubler and I've always struggled with getting a consistent and full flute tone. This helped a ton!

    Lots of practical areas of further study to help develop a more firmly grounded tonal quality to ones' playing of the flute. Remarkable exercises to tune the ear and help in getting us closer to being where we ought to be. Thank you so much.

    Great video. I was laughing so hard when she was holding her ear when you were playing..I know it was the proximity but it made for a good dramatic effect 😂🙉🙀

      Alexandra Georgiades hehe😂😂😂 luckily most of us flute players take it as a compliment when someone is closing their ears because we are playing ‘too loud’ 😜😜😜

    I listened to this a bit and was very skeptical. But to give it a fair shake I picked up the flute and gave it a shot. Holy cats, this old gal really seriously knows what she is talking about! For beginners like me this can produce a night and day difference in five or ten minutes. Now it feels like I could blow the windows out if I wanted to, and using about the same amount of air too. The downside? Molly, the resident furball, ran away and hid in a closet. Oh well, she never liked my playing anyhow. :)

      Ahhhhh! That is so exciting 😃😃😃 I hope you enjoy your new beautiful sound (even if you kitty doesn’t!)

      @@TheFlutePractice I've been having fun with it. Molly's reaction is strange, her being such a musical cat and all. Most cats yowl but Molly meows on specific notes with no glissando at all. She is soft-spoken and has lovely tone.

    Interesantes ejercicios de sonido en la flauta, aunque parecen algo difíciles de ejecutar, los empezaré a poner en práctica. Gracias por compartir y organizar los Timestamp en el video Tatiana.

    The whistle tones remind me of my Shakuhachi..similar to the "fluttering wings" technique only higher pitched on the flute.

    Hello, I have not commented much, but I enjoy your videos. Do you tighten your springs or change your own pads? I watched a video of a man changing his Yamaha fish bladder pads, and he made it
    look easy. I live in New York, and need a reputable flute service tech. Know anyone?

    • @TheFlutePractice
      @TheFlutePractice  5 років тому

      Gaetano Marino hey there! I would not recommend doing it yourself because it can get quite tricky and complicated. The New York Flute Center have a great flute repair service so my advice is give them a call and go there☺️ I recognize your name here so thank you for all your support for my videos😃🎶!
